I would advise everyone to avoid …

I would advise everyone to avoid Bairstowe Eves Great Barr. We received very poor disorganised service in our case. It all started badly with them getting our property mixed up with another! It ended badly with it taking 5 months to sell to our very keen cash buyer. When this same property was purchased in 2003 it was all done in less than two and a half months, obviously Bairstowe was not involved.

Wish I used an alternative agent.

Most expensive agent we had come to assess our property. Did the bare minimum at every step of the way and were not helpful in any way imaginable. Did not want to get involved in anything and we were left to do our own sales & purchase progression while paying a hefty premium for the privilege. My advice would be to avoid Bairstow Eves and use a cheaper agent, while you'll still have to do a lot of the legwork yourself, you'll save yourself thousands of pounds.

Moved out of a rented property…

Moved out of a rented property 29/07/2024. Chased and chased for updates about my deposit being returned only to keep being informed we are awaiting details from the landlady. According to my tenancy agreement I should have been informed within 10 days of any ‘proposed’ deductions. 3 weeks on and no further forward. If I was in breech of the tenancy agreement they would be quick to act but when it’s the other side.. nothing!

One of worst letting agent

One of worst letting agent , they don’t have any ethics, they just need money 💰, worst customer service, we got a flat for rent in worst condition, they gave without cleaning, used toilet didn’t even flush , really shame on them, when we gave a complaint they didn’t even apologise, and flat is also worst condition, it needs to refurbish but gave for rent. Full of oily kitchen, got shocked after seeing bathroom. Owner will not pick calls, this letting agent will not take responsibility, but they signed on behalf of owner on the agreement. But surely I will not leave them, I’ll post in every forums.

Advertised flat for sale with a alloted…

Advertised flat for sale with a alloted parking space, then to be told I could only park my car in a very small space tight up against a wall, the space was smaller than my car, I don’t have a big car. I made it quite clear to Bairstow Eves that I only considered the flat as it had parking, not alloted small smart car only parking! The lies continued with this firm and they just repeat themselves like parrots. It has cost me 2.5k in fees and I have to pull out so a chain of 4 people before me are also going to be effected, I was literally at contract stage, the stress is unbearable that I and others are now going to suffer. I do NOT recommend this company, their tactic is also to say to the seller while you are there, oh don’t forget you have a viewing later and 2 further ones booked in! This is pressure selling and more than likely lies. The management guy that runs the upkeep of the building told me that if I couldn’t park there that I should have my licence taken away, change your car to a smart car! His rudeness continued until I was left in tears, the agent just stood by and did nothing! Avoid this company, they talk the talk but never follow through.

Well! What can I say? I had been house hunting for several months and the experiences I had with estate agents varied greatly. I was resigned to the fact that I would let my sale go through and move into rented accommodation; until I could find somewhere suitable to purchase. I then got a call from Jo. I was told a new property had come on the market which she thought would tick all the boxes for me. Honestly, I was sceptical. I was reluctant to go and view it without the brochure, but as it wasn’t too far from home I decided to relent. Here I am a few week later with an offer accepted and the purchase process started. It was refreshing to see that my search criteria had been listened to and only suitable properties put forward to me. Although Bairstow aren’t my agents they have been great at chasing all sides and keeping me updated. I get weekly updates on progress and Jo has been fantastic at keeping the pressure on the solicitors. I am very satisfied with things from the purchase side and can say that Bairstow Eves (Kirkby in Ashfield) are pleasant and easy to work with. Thanks very much!

I don’t just make reviews unless I have to. But a family member has their house for sale with B&E. and quite frankly from what I keep hearing it’s not a very good service at all. I also did my own way of contacting as a perspective buyer. 5 times I made contact with the local branch and not once have made contact over the property I was enquiring about. It also concerns me that there is no main number to call them apart from the local branches which if they are not providing a good service it will be there word against yours over any complaints to head office. So they have eliminated anyway of taking an issue higher than the branch. Which you need to ask do you want sell or buy a house from this organisation ? Also my family member had their house reduced without any written confirmation of them taking this action. So it would appear they can do pretty much what they like in terms of when it suits them rather than what suits there customers.

Total failure in Hucknall

Total failure. Rude and unprofessional staff. Very few viewing of the house. Promised communication failed to happen as the norm. Poor quality photographs of house and near illiterate description of house and garden. Agents appear to be in league with the one buyer to get a cut down price so the house could be rented out by them. If you want to sell a home in Hucknall try another agent.

VERY poor service

I have a buy to let property in Barking bought from and managed by the local Bairstow Eves office. I'm VERY unhappy with the service I receive from them. I pay a monthly service charge and yet get no service.Every month, the rent paid to Countrywide by Housing Benefit on my tenant's behalf goes astray. Every month it takes weeks of emails to trace the money despite my tenant sending a reference number. Housing Benefit have invited Countrwide to sign up to the landlord's portal so they know exactly when the rent is being paid. I have no idea whether Countrywide have signed up because neither they nor the Barking office respond to my emails. The January rent has not yet been paid to me. This is causing problems with mortgage payments, service charges etc. I'm certain my tenant is not the only person in receipt of Housing Benefit that Countrywide deal with and yet they seem to have no system for dealing with what is after all public money.When I tried to submit this on your feedback form, this is what I gotWe're sorry, but something went wrong.If you are the application owner check the logs for more information.

i was buying my new house through Bairstow Eves i used YOPA to sell my property. As i has experienced both side of high street estate agents and online ones i can say in the future i would stay well clear of the online agents even if the low cost is attractive. with the high street agent which was not acting on my behalf they was very informative and was chasing everything and keeping me informed all the way throughout the whole process. they are kind understanding and do everything they can to help the process run as smooth as possible without them i would not have been in my new house for Christmas. as for yopa i had not heard anything from them nor have the contacted me for as long as 12 week leading up to completion they are a glorified advertising agent that don't care to help or do anything once they have your money stay clear these guys are fantastic.

We enjoyed a wonderful experience buying our first home together in Kirkby. The staff - especially Jo and Leslie, whom we dealt with personally - demonstrate great customer service skills, are always prepared to answer questions and help in any way they can. Nothing has ever been too much trouble and we have never felt out of our depth in what has been a new and often intimidating experience for us. We cannot express enough our gratitude for their professionalism and hard work, which (along with our conveyancing solicitors) allowed us to complete in just over 8 weeks. Throughout the process, communication from the Estate Agent(s) to ourselves was regular, clear and easy to understand. We never had any difficulty in organising appointments for Home-buyers Surveyors or other contractors to undertake work, even at somewhat short notice at times. The staff were always eager to meet our needs, and have helped make our home-buying experience feel (mostly!) stress-free. I completely, unreservedly recommend Bairstow Eves to anyone looking to buy in/around Kirkby-in-Ashfield.
