Massive thank you to Alistair Bownman, he has been absolutely fantastic throughout our first buy. He was always there at the end of the phone at any time of day/night, guided us throughout the process step by step and was ALWAYS there to help. I would highly recommend RMS to anybody, however I’d 1000% give Alistair a special recommendation. It has been a quick, easy and mainly stress free process for us both and cannot thank him enough.

From the initial appointment and evaluation with David Jones, the regular contact with Richard Fitzgerald and Natalie Best on where the sale was and the above and beyond support from Ellie Erskine was great and helped the sale be a positive experience. I would definitely recommend and use again. They are very responsive and professional.

Reliable Mortgage Service

Used Rook Matthews Sayer for a re-mortgage as a returning customer. Rook Matthews were quick to contact us approximately 6 months ago to remind us that our existing mortgage was due to expire, a service we had not received previously from a different mortgage service which had resulted in us transferring to a standard interest rate and costing us more. The Track My Case option was handy to track progress. Alistair Bowman was our advisor a few years ago and recently. He has been so helpful, identifying the best time to search for a mortgage deal, providing regular updates and an alternative contact if he was unavailable and once a provisional deal was agreed, Alistair continued to check the market to ensure we had the most appropriate deal as interest rates continued to change. He has been honest in his advice, confirming that as we are close to paying off our mortgage, this would be the last time we would require a broker as the range of options in future years would be limited. I would have no hesitation in continuing to use Rooks Matthews and especially Alistair and would recommend them to anyone.

Very pleasant staff in the office, and communications mostly very good. Ours was an easy sell, so not particularly onerous for RMS. Good advice given re finalising offers. Agents please take care to shut doors/windows/reset alarms after viewings. And it was a good job I checked the figures on completion, as RMS had not deducted the cost of our probate valuation, as promised. Quickly rectified - once pointed out.

We just bought our first house which was being sold by Rook Matthews Sayer. From start to finish they had excellent communication and kept us informed. We were helped by Eve, the senior office manager, and Natalie, the sales progressor. Both were extremely extremely helpful. I don’t think we would have completed the purchase on schedule if it wasn’t for Natalie’s efforts. She answered every single query we had and helped deal with both sets of solicitors. Once we had asked RMS to sell the flat for us, they quickly put it on the market and had information/pictures on the internet. We received regular updates, including their assessment of the buying potential for each enquirer, and in a matter of a few weeks (bearing in mind COVID was still an issue) we had an acceptable offer. There was a delay with the sale going through caused by the purchaser's arrangements but we were kept informed and RMS were pro-active in pushing the sale along.

Fantastic, Friendly Service

Going through the Forrest Hall branch, Alistair Bowman was absolutely fantastic with helping me remortgage. It was especially stressful as I needed to be secured on a new deal before rate hikes took effect and Alistair managed everything so efficiently for me. He squeezed me in for appointments at short notice, clearly explained all aspects of the process and was very understanding about fitting things in around my working hours. Ultimately he secured me a great deal in very little time. 5 stars for the service Alistair provided.I would've given 5 stars for the review except that the reason I had very little time to remortgage was because the person I was initially emailing to arrange an appointment didnt respond to my messages in a timely manner and had to be chased, then when they did respond they booked me in for an appointment with Alistair when he already had an appointment booked with someone else. Other than that I am very satisfied with the service I received from RMS!

Service was at best patchy: sometimes reasonable, but on a couple of occasions appallingly bad, causing me much distress. I often felt disrespected, my concerns dismissed, apparently some of that due to my being a woman! Completely unacceptable. Surprisingly, when we finally completed and were collecting the keys to our new home, not so much as a congratulatory handshake. And worryingly they didn't even ask for proof of identity before handing over the keys. Finally, I must say, as a disabled person I found entering their Alnwick office, with its deep steps and no grab rails, very difficult. When I complained about this staff just laughed.
