I signed my rental agreement in the office yesterday, up until then all my contact had been by email and telephone. There was a nice atmosphere in the office, the staff that weren't dealing with me seemed to be happy around each other and there was a friendly buzz about the place. Everyone I have dealt with at Romans so far has been friendly and helpful and I can't forsee any problems. I wasn't impressed with the attitude of the referencing agency used by Romans or their use of language in their online forms. In particular they don't seem to like employers that use a Yahoo or Gmail email account or that do not possess a landline number. If I were to guess I would say that hundreds of thousands of people are securely employed by someone without a landline or with a Gmail and that this unreasonable demand could potentially exclude them from the rental market is poor, fortunately this was not the case for me but it was crystal clear to me how this could effect a lot of people unfairly. However, 5* for Romans, it appears that the referencing is outsourced and I encourage you to "have words" with them but I have no complaints at all about Romans!

Scott and Alison helped us purchase a house during COVID lockdown. Our chain had collapsed but Scott managed to save the chain allowing us to move into our property. Both are clearly passionate about their work and want customers to be happy. They were both on the ball, communication was fantastic, always there to answer a question and did lots of chasing further up. Both were very supportive. I’m a landlord with a number of properties, one of them is let and fully managed through Romans in Aldershot. A few weeks ago there was a water leak. Kim Shanks was amazing - no panicking, just calm and efficient. She dealt with the initial problem, kept me informed, looked after the tenant, fixed the problem and then went about sorting the damage. This is the level of service you pay for, but don’t often receive - I’d highly recommend Kim and hope she stays with Romans as a property manager.PositiveResponsiveness, Professionalism

Romans have been great during our search for a new place, this was me and my parents first time getting our own place after living with parents. Chloe was amazing and so professional taking us through the process of taking our details down to try and find somewhere that suits our need. The whole process has been very arduous, especially being a 1st time landlord. The automated processes do not work well & were left to the last minute. There were also a large number of payment errors which should not have occurred. Your gas heating contractor also caused unnecessary & unwanted problems. In addition the free landlord insurance has proven to be worthless as rental payments have been made up front & we will not be covered after 6 month's when any potential issues may arise. I feel that we were misled on the benefit of having this. I am still awaiting hard copies of contract & inventory check in although our 1st payment & issues have now been resolved. Hopefully our next rental payment will be without problems!!

We viewed a good few with Holly until she found us that one house which felt like the one we can call home! Special mention to Holly who had the patience to show us all the houses, Scott who was brilliant at negotiating our offer, and Alison & Natalie who got us through to exchange and completion which is hard at the best of times, let alone during Covid-19 where Natalie made it happen! Holly was very professional friendly polite and answered every question we fired at her. She listened with interest to our needs and came up with positive ideas. I had a great experience dealing with Romans in Aldershot from start to finish. I was changing jobs and didn't have any spare time to concentrate on the sale of my property. Romans took care of everything for me, ensuring the house was activeley marketed to its maximum potential. I received regular updates from Holly which kept me in the loop. Holly and the team went above their remit, even visiting the property for me to turn the water off saving me a 120 mile trip. Most importantly, the team managed to find a buyer and help me complete in less than 2 months. Incredible! I would definitely recommend them as 1.) they have a good positive understanding of customer service and 2.) They work the sale for you using a professional approach, rather than just listing your property.
