I originally left a message on their answer phone between Xmas and New Year, only to not get a call back. I then rang in early January and mentioned this but didn't receive either an apology or an excuse. We loved the property and made an offer. Unfortunately, literally days before completion C19 hit and we felt that we couldn't commit until we knew how it was all going to pan out. We had paid our solicitor as all the necessary work had been carried out. We still wanted the property as a buy to let and let it known that we hoped to resume the purchase when C19 allowed. We found out that Estate Agents were back to work but received no call from SG. I actually had to call them, which seemed odd as they knew the only reason we didnt complete was because of the coronavirus. Long story short, we eventually completed and I met the niece of the former property owners, who told me that her relatives had no idea why we'd pulled out! They were not informed that we were still interested and were told that we'd decided we didn't want it for reasons unknown. I can only assume SG had some other agenda on the go. Needless to say, we haven't used them to advertise the property for rent.

Spencer Gordon were an absolute pleasure to deal with throughout the whole process of buying our new property in Ainsdale. Definitely a 5 star and I would give 6 if possible! From first to last the service has been truly first class. We dealt primarily with Chris but it was clear that he and Ross streamline perfectly and are a true partnership. Chris was very professional but very realistic and approachable. It was clear that he had a real understanding of his local market and was frank and open in discussions as to value. There was no "bull". His advice and recommendations were spot on . Our property was placed to the market very quickly from first instruction and the response was excellent. Throughout the selling process Chris ( and Ross ) remained very hands on and supportive. Their response to contact was very speedy and always positive and helpful. The whole process was extremely smooth and we are very happy with the part played by Spencer Gordon and especially happy with the outcome. Estate Agents can get a bad press and there is substantial competition from cheaper internet alternatives, but with Spener Gordon we were happy that we received a tremendously positive experience and real value for money. We achieved rather more than expected and the process was generally pain free. What not to like ? Thoroughly recommended.

We have recently bought a house through Spencer Gordon and I honestly cannot recommend them highly enough. After a difficult year and 5 house purchases falling through, our faith in estate agents was being tested to the limits, but Chris at Spencer Gordon was a breath of fresh air to deal with. Nothing was too much trouble and we always received timely and helpful replies to our queries, no matter how small or trivial. The most crucial thing for us when buying a house is that an open line of communication is maintained at all times between solicitors, vendors and purchasers and Chris consistently ensured that this was the case to keep us reassured that the purchase was progressing smoothly. Spencer Gordon have been an amazing help over the past few months as we bought our new home. We saw the property back in October and we completed on Friday! Wahoo.
