Whiteknights failed to progress the sale of our property up until the last minute when it collapsed due to them not checking a basic fact such as the buyers giving their two-month notice to their landlord. The buyers pulled out on account of having to pay £887 extra on a half a million pound purchase to meet a completion date the whole chain had agreed to extend at the buyers request. Whiteknights did not check they had served their notice on time to meet the completion date, did not inform us they hadn't, they just informed us last minute when the sale ultimately collapsed. We're left to remarket the house now after 6 months in this process and to continue incurring costs, as well as breaking two separate chains. Still stunned by how utterly appalling Whiteknights have been.

We listed our house with WhiteKnights Estate Agents a year ago today, mainly because their fee was cheaper than everyone else and, conveniently, their valuation was higher too. Looking back, that probably should have been our first red flag… but naively, we were sucked in. What followed was pretty much a masterclass in what you don’t want from an estate agent. Communication ranged from poor to completely non-existent, we often felt like we were chasing them just to find out feedback from viewings and what was going on with our sale. Viewings were another highlight… mostly carried out by what seemed to be a temp who knew absolutely nothing about the house or even the local area. Unsurprisingly, this didn’t exactly inspire confidence in potential buyers. Combine that with an inflated asking price, and it’s fair to say interest was… underwhelming. Eventually, we were advised to drop the price quite considerably to “generate more interest.” After a few vague enquiries but nothing serious, and after all the effort of keeping a house show-home-ready with three young children, it all felt like a complete waste of time. In the end, we terminated our agreement and moved to a competent estate agent, who then sold our lovely home in just 4 days, and for more than the revised (and realistic) asking price. So yes, lesson learned: cheaper fees and inflated valuations aren’t always the win they seem. Based on our experience, I wouldn’t recommend WhiteKnights to anyone.

The team at Whiteknights kept me informed throughout the process of selling my property. I received regular emails & phone calls. If I had a question I would always get a call back promptly. I am very happy with the service that was provided.

Overall very disappointed, didn't like James, didn't really listen to us did things his way. When he got a sniff of a buyer he stuck with them, we had complications with our buyer but he was reluctant to see other potential buyers. When we did get a buyer we seemed to do all the work heard very nothing from Whiteknights, we weren't even told James had left the company. Very little contact from Whiteknights throughout the entire process.

James (and the rest of the team) at whiteknights sold our house twice, in a cumulative total of 5 days, and put up with my frequent requests for updates and pushing people for action. We had an incredibly stressful move (aren't they all), but Whiteknights were there to try and push things forward, and with one exception we're absolutely faultless. We were messed around by first time buyers that didn't put any money on account with their solicitors so there was zero progress for about 6 weeks. We thought things were going great, all of the activity on our onward purchase was complete, but no activity on the sale, and Whiteknights had not updated us of this - this is my only frustration. When those buyers pulled out, and we nearly lost our onward, James got 6 viewings arranged within 24 hours and 3 strong offers 24 hours after that! When James was on holiday during the process the case was handed over to Rob who stepped in and kept things moving with no fuss I hope to never have to move again, but if I do, I'll consider Whiteknights.

Huge credit to James for his swift action, and to Rob for picking things up seamlessly. We’re so pleased it all came together in the end, and wish you every happiness in your new home (hopefully for a good while yet!). Merry Christmas! - The WhiteKnights Team

Would highly reccomend Whiteknights. We made our purchase via them but would next time use them for sale also tbh. Especially Rob who was really friendly, great communication and really helped us get our sale and purchase through (when we had some issues). Always easy to reach and really put us at ease, which is appreciated at a stressful time! Thanks team.

Totally professional and sensitive in assisting with the sale of my elderly relatives property. A quick sale was required, advice and communication were excellent along with the introduction to other local service providers which was very helpful as I have no local knowledge. Thank you to all the Team at Whiteknights.

Whiteknights were great during our sale. They had someone lined up immediately and we sold our house for asking price before it even went on the Market. The sale itself took a long time but that was due to chain issues. When the going got rough, Rob was always contactable and professional and very understanding. The only downside is that they use a third party sales progressor and I found they added no value and I couldn't recommend them. However, this is no reflection on Rob or the team at this branch who were steller so it remains a 5 star for them.

Hi Tammy, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us this detailed and thoughtful review. We're thrilled to hear that your home sold so quickly and at asking price, that’s always a fantastic outcome and exactly what we aim for. We completely understand how frustrating delays in a chain can be, and we’re really pleased to know that Rob was able to support you throughout, remaining professional and responsive during the trickier moments. He’ll be so pleased to read your kind words. We do take on board your comments regarding the third-party sales progressor. While we work closely with them to assist clients through the legal process, we appreciate your feedback and will continue to review how we can improve that aspect of the journey. Thanks again for your 5-star rating and for recognising the dedication of Rob and the branch team, it means a great deal to all of us. Warmest wishes, The WhiteKnights Team

We were looking for a property in Earley/lower Earley We came across many agents however for this particular property which was marketed by Whiteknights, we met their estate agent Amilcar who understood our situation and was very helpful and quick to get us not only the landlord approval and then the tenancy process started. I found Amilcar very helpful and understanding and at the same time Very professional and doing all the checks very thoroughly One particular agent in the area is asking more rent than what is marketed and is starting a price war Based on my recent experience I will recommend Whiteknights and Especially Amilcar

First-time renting professionals who are relocating from overseas, please be aware of unreasonable and unjustified ask to produce a guarantor. I’m a senior manager at a reputed organisation being transferred to the UK recently. Obviously, I don’t have a credit history in the UK and that doesn’t mean that I need a guarantor since I’m in a permanent position and my annual salary is well above 30x monthly rent. No other agent in and around Reading area had this condition for me. We were really interested in a house because of the availability of good schools and even negotiated to secure a guarantor for the first 12 months. But, Rob spoke to my guarantor in a threatening and bullying tone instead of helping the prospective customer and working with us. There is no customer focus, renting team is highly unresponsive, they almost never picked up my calls. While we asked for a guarantor deed to be reviewed with the negotiated clauses before paying the holding deposit, another offer was accepted when not even 24 hours had passed since the landlord accepted our offer the previous day. This is highly unprofessional. I won’t recommend WhiteKnights to anyone who would be first-time renters in the UK.
