WDH seem to think it's acceptable in the current financial circumstances to increase the misery of hard working tents to put rent up by £17.64 a month, not acceptable for people that work hard and do not rely on benefits. 31,000 properties £6.5 million a year terrible!!!

Professional non judgmental and excellent

I can’t explain how much of a difference WDH has made to my life. The house they provided is beautiful, they are there to fix any issues in a professional way and are speedy to resolve issues. I don’t understand the one star reviews as I’ve got nothing but praise for WDH. They treat people fairly and are non judgmental about peoples circumstances. They offer so much more than housing, they help with other social needs too. I’ve been in a WDH home for over two years, I love the house and I love WDH for their help and support and the very fair and professional manner they treat me with. I feel they respect me. Would i recommend WDH then absolutely I would.

Iv been on waiting list for nearly 4…

Iv been on waiting list for nearly 4 yrs now .put medical evidence and mentle health forms 3 times now each time got refused to up my banding D .iv had so many organisations helping but still being ignored and can't do anything for me .my mentle health has it rock bottom. Deteriorating health problems. BUt not getting g listend to buy anyone .can't afford private rent even other housing association I'm on there's no help .just can't take it any more .not sleeping. Why I'm bothering bidding every week and trying to keep my rent clear with out getting offerd a property what is suitable for my needs with being disabled .even iv passed the the waiting time for a band D on wdh waiting list for a bungalow.

I've asked to move..l moved here after my husband died to be near my sister she died 2 years ago the only friends l had have moved...l struggle with memory issues l live in a bungalow l have severe arthritis 3 kinds...asthma as well as a mind that doesn't think ..right ..l need a wet room l can't get a bath l am unable to get in it lm told it's adequate here it isn't lve been put in band d and offered flats l don't visit my son as he's in a flat l can't manage stairs l keep falling... people are right I'm a 67 year old pensioner they won't help you I've proved l have issues l have an alarm pendant wdh said l brought it from another property l got it last year ..lve got disabled items issued ..last week ..lve got travellers next door banging doors constantly ...it's so unfair as if you complain you get accused of lying..flats are no good to me l lose my balance a lot lve been in hospital with severe burns...l need a bungalow only ld like a garden and a wet room but no one cares l feel like going to bed and not getting up my family on Mam's side are buried in normanton l can't get anyone to listen l shouldn't be in band d they want medical letters you have to pay for them l can't afford heating never mind paying for letters

ONE BIG JOKE !!

This housing association is one big joke . And as for choice it isn’t a choice based lettings as I’ve looked choice based lettings up and read about it and why it was brought in and it was actually brought in to give people the choice in what properties they wanted and where ! Wdh do not work like this as basically some of us are wasting our time even bidding because where shoved to one side and totally ignored while people who are well known ie family and close friends are prioritised and given whatever housing they want in no time at all … wdh must actually love to see people suffer and get satisfaction from it because this is basically what they do they leave people who are in need of housing to suffer and people who move left right and centre get to move anytime they want to and it’s actually true I know a few that have moved every 6 months and not because they need to it’s because they want to or their bored of their house their in so housing needs are not looked at or even considered whatsoever it’s downright disgusting what wdh do to people but they won’t like it later down the line when they need help I hope I’m one of them that they come to because I’ll give them the same answer they gave me (IGNORANCE)

AVOID WDH properties if you can, particularly the flats. Hostile stupid ignorant staff who could not care less about your problems.Do not make the wrong type of complaint as you will be blacklisted!

I have lived in WDH housing since 2003 and it is the worst company I have dealt with. The flat has a serious damp and black mould problem to which I am severely allergic but letters about it are just ignored. I have been harassed by my neighbors since 2006 and because I banged on my neighbors door after they kept me awake for two nights one of their managers phoned a hospital to try to get me sectioned even though I was the victim and it was just my neighbors word against mine. They moved a paranoid schizophrenic man into the flat directly below mine and are using him to drive me out because of complaints I have made and questions I have asked.l He makes loud intrusive noise for hours on end and has threatened to kill his neighbors. Yet WDH just gaslight me and denies that the harassment is happening and that the man they are dealing with for serious anti-social behavior does not live directly below me even though I am kept awake by his continual noise and have listened to his ranting for years and even though I heard the police arrest him after making death threats and have pics of him being arrested and have spoken to him and seen him many times and have had him at my door complaining about me on one occasion and his neighbors below have called out the police to him four times at least. WDH just lie and gaslight me and even deny that I have complained about the matter. They even asked the Royal Mail to send back one of my harassment records as not called for and unopened at a charge of two pounds to me. He has driven out two of his neighbors but I think he will only be evicted if I leave as then he will have served his purpose. The flat next door to his has been empty since late May 2021. No one will take it if they learn what is living next door. If I complain about any neighbor nothing is done and even though it is just my neighbors word against mine WDH show their bias and believe my neighbor. Some but not all of the tradesmen are insolent and virtually all of the management are hostile and insolent. They are taught that they are in an us and them situation and that tenants are scum who deserve only lies and contempt. I detect the hand of Common Purpose here. WMDC were a poor landlord but WDH is much worse. They really enjoy degrading the lives of tenants and the conflict and stress that occurs because of anti-social behavior. They sent two senior managers one day to harass me and it was like a visit from two moronic but aggressive Stasi goons. A pipe in my kitchen was corroded and leaked water into the flat below. So they sent out two huge ugly fat men to deal with it. The first of them came in and as he was passing through the hall he turned his ugly head 90 degrees towards the bedroom hoping to see a woman in the bedroom. This type of behaviour which is meant to humiliate is taught to them by Common Purpose trained individuals I believe. The last CEO, who was Common Purpose, trained left with a shed-load of our money and he is the one who instituted the policy of harassing, blacklisting and discriminating against tenants who ask the wrong questions or make the wrong type of complaints. He was earning £147,000 p.a. some years ago. He is overweight and wears a wig which we have paid for. The new CEO earns £205,000 p.a. while many of his tenants live in damp mouldy flats and suffer anti-social behaviour everyday about which he intends to do nothing. I bet he has a big house with no black mould and a comfortable fear and harassment free life and has never suffered from harassment and so has no empathy with those who have. I am writing this having just been woken at 10:30 pm by loud bangs from the insane person living below. If I report this the woman in the customer complaints dept will gaslight me and say it did not happen even though the man is just 6 feet away from me. She says 'I refute that you are being harassed'. She is ignorant of the meaning of 'refute' all she has done is deny I am being harassed but with no evidence. To refute or disprove someone evidence is required and neither she nor any other WDH numpty is here 24/7 monitoring noise from his flat. WDH is staffed by stupid, ignorant poorly educated people, and some have been trained by Common Purpose at our expense. The banging stops for two or three days then starts again then the gradually increases until it is the same as before. I once offered to show two estate officers a video of the insane man threatening to kill me and his neighbours but they just smirked and would not view it. I have just had another threatening anonymous letter because I complained about being woken at 7:30 am by WDH's bleeping vans near my window. It says I was 'aggressive' when I was just annoyed. It says I breached tenancy rules-another lie. Letter was sent by a snarling manager with a permanent scowl like one mentally deranged. I was in a WMDC flat before, that had black mould too.

FINDING A HOME OF YOUR CHOICE ???? I don’t think so it’s not about choice it’s about where they expect you to live and the properties they expect you to bid on which are worse than where you currently live it’s downright disgusting how people are clearly treat and it’s favouritism overall they try and cover up stuff when their confronted and asked about their policies and instead of responding to you they change their policies and then write to you saying that you’ve got unreasonable behaviour yet they speak to you like your muck and have the attitude with you yet if you have it back they don’t like it one bit and for a housing association that is supposed to be all about choice , needs , and improving lives of others they are a complete joke who chooses to cause people more problems and show ignorance and this bidding on properties lark is just a game to wdh that’s all it is and they find it acceptable can’t wait for them to be found out seriously they need shutting down with the disgusting way they treat people !!!

If you suffer with mental health you’ve no chance of ever been offered any properties you bid on they refuse you priority on medical grounds claiming that your not affected by your current property yet they’ve not even been to my current property other than to do a home visit and state that I’d be getting an offer yet three years down the line I’m still waiting they was going to offer me a three bed house in kinsley and yet they don’t offer me any that I actually bid on so basically it’s what they want to give you not what you would like it’s one rule for one and one for another !!! And if you put a bad review about them they class this as unacceptable behaviour so basically punish you for speakingThe truth about them

Only in desperation should you go to them!

Only in desperation should you have anything to do with these people. They are not landlords, they follow their own rules. No landlord would get away with what they do. They put you in dirty, damp, rotten homes for a small reduction in rent. It really isn't worth it. If you are worried about benefits and how you will pay a private landlord, well, many landlords will now accept people on benefits, so, I would just go to them. WDH are possibly the worse company out there.

Don't bother- useless

TOTALLY AGREE WITH G Burrow BELOW!!!! Don't bother! They charge nearly as much rent as a private landlord but they give you a rubbish dump to live in and never decorate. They have no respect for anyone's health and wellbeing and cause trouble all the time. They also try to get people to leave!I also think they make people more ill with their rubbish attitude and bullying tactic. They want closing down!

Overcrowded house, still with my parents and also have my own child, still waiting for a home. Decided to email the mp and the councils response was “she needs to send the birth certificate in” not one person ever said to me I was expected to do that, so 18 months old and now on my application finally…another occasion, a data breach with my address and another occupants details on,council pleaded me to delete the email and even sent me a letter reiterating it… 2019 I’ve been on the list, still waiting,gobsmacked about how long it’s actually taken. I know there’s people better off for housing than me, but thought the “council” would of stepped up their mark a little. It’s beyond a joke now.

Again.still absolutely disgusting..pathetic excuse for a housing association.do not bother wasting your time reporting anti social behaviour or crime as they will not do a god damn thing about it...constantly reporting bad things yet im still living in fear...am trying to get a house with a fence around because wdh seem to think that if you live somewhere with communal areas you dont actually have a right to privacy or right to live in peace...i noticed someone else has commented below about how wdh relatives get given properties and ill tell you from first hand experience this is 100% true! Ive reported an instance to them in past month and nothing has been done about it...this relative is a nightmare neighbour but nothing ever gets done for obvious reasons...also if you report anyone for anything they dont do anything about it but then will allow the perpetrators to make a false allegation in retaliation and they all of a sudden want to investigate that report..ive been insulted and offended by certain housing estate officer and despite me saying never to have him deal with me again they still keep sending him and getting him to ring me...i was told a few week ago that he no longer works on my area but he rung me 3 days ago and is clearly still working this area..ive offered evidence to back up reports but wdh email inbox is allegedly always full and it just sends you an email failed message back..i addressed this last week..ive even now had to go to wakefield council to tell them my concerns and they have asked me to report things to them now as im not getting any results at all from wdh only declining mental health and anxiety..my mental health was so much better before moving into this flat and now i darent even go outside...constant dog attacks happen on this street and wdh have pretty much admitted the street is a lost cause...well i think for an organisation that claims to improve the wellbeing of tenants thats a lie! You have driven me to have suicidal thoughts...you have called me a liar, a drug dealer, petty and hypersensitive.if you report any worker about unsatisfactory calls the recordings of calls go missing so you cant prove it..they are shockingly corrupted and to those saying i cant believe you are moaning when you have newly built homes...are you actually joking? May be the case up your way but that aint true here! These were built in the 60s for mining families and you cant swing a cat in them...they are in terrible disrepair...and regardless of whether or not they have a home provided by wdh the tenants deserve a better standard of living.they pay rent and they have human rights...even just the basic ones arent met..crime goes unpunished and fears get ignored..ive seen some shocking treatment of tenants but no ones got any fight left in them anymore to bother trying..they have just accepted that no one is going to help them.disgusting and definitely need investigating for failing to fulfill their duties towards tenants .

CLEARLY DONT ACKNOWLEDGE PEOPLES CIRCUMSTANCES

Their housing (CHOICE BASED LETTINGS ) clearly needs to be investigated as this housing association are not what they claim to be and people are clearly victimised and discriminated against and I’m living proof … nobody’s circumstances are acknowledged when it comes to their so called choice based lettings housing is clearly given to the ones that move left right and centre not to people who actually have housing needs and who wdh put in a band that is for. People who are adequately housed when clearly their not when anybody applies for housing they are shoved in what ever band they want you in not what you should be in they also claim that band d isn’t a priority band yet if this was the actual case then why are band d being housed within months of applying it’s not done fairly at all and they clearly ignore peoples situations and find it acceptable to infact intimidate people who suffer with mental health disabilities and overall it’s mainly disabled people that suffer the most from this housing association and if they acknowledge circumstances like they claim to do there wouldn’t be so many people sleeping on the floor with their children or sleeping in their chairs through having difficulties climbing stairs so they are very clearly not at all what they claim to be and one day they will be investigated as I will make sure of this !!

Rude aggressive bully’s

Person who came out to my house was rude,aggressive slammed my front door and kicked the border in my front garden for absolutely no reason!!! I am a woman who lives alone with her children and I cannot even believe I have just been treated like this by one of wdh’s employees while my child was in the house ! I was not rude to him or anything and have no idea why he treated me like this he started shouting in my face and squaring up to me then stormed out bearing in mind I am a five foot woman and did nothing to provoke this he asked me a question so I answered him n then he phoned his supervisor and told him the complete opposite of what I had said so I tried to interrupt him to correct him and he started shouting saying well I’m not arguing with you repeatedly ( no one was arguing with him) also could hear the supervisor laughing on the other end of the phone,and then he got in my face and started shouting I’ll walk out if you want do you want me to walk out so I said yes if you want so he stormed out slammed the door kicked over the border in the front garden then sat on the phone shouting for about twenty minutes for all the street to hear . This guy was clearly either under the influence of drugs or has serious issues and should not be left alone with women or vulnerable people. As someone who has suffered domestic violence in the past this incident has triggered me badly I’m shaking and feel sick and this has sent me back to five years ago when I was in that situation. The best part is when I’ve phoned to complain they’ve past the complaint on to the supervisor the very man who was on the other end of the phone laughing when he was shouting at me !! Seriously just sat here wondering wether to go to the police .

A CHOICE BASED LETTINGS THAT IS FLAWED

Wakefield district housing claim to be choice based lettings and house people in date order of membership yet they don’t do what they say infact they do the opposite and people are clearly discriminated and victimised and I’m living proof and sooner or later I will be getting justice for how they’ve treated me which is (ABSOLUTLEY DISGUSTING) and I’ve got all the evidence to prove this .

Clearly their housing allocation policy should state that certain people are victimised or discriminated as this is exactly what they do and the attitude of the staff is disgusting IT ALSO STATES THAT IF YOUR ELIGIBLE FOR WDH HOUSING YOU WILL BE GIVEN A MEMBERSHIP NUMBER TO BID (but despite bidding and been on it fifteen years and already done a home assessment you never get any offers of your choice of property at all ) TO WDHOMESEARCH ITS A GAME !!!They clearly find that speaking over you so you can’t get a word in edge ways acceptable and shows respect ! They clearly don’t like been told the truth either as it seems your discriminated or victimised if you tell them some own truths !!!

Can’t complain about anything everything they do is for the pure love of helping the working classes. They will come out at 3am if you have issues and are super helpful. A godsend to the UK that people take advantage of

As somebody who has found their-selves in a difficult circumstance, we made the choice to have a look at WDH, where the housing is much more affordable than private renting. After reading the reviews I felt sick. How can people who have brand new houses, financial support and places to live actually have the cheek to review so negatively about a charitable company that is trying to rehome thousands of people? If this was any other country you would literally be on the street, in a mud hut or literally in the sewers to keep warm! The problem with a lot of people is that because us as English are entitled to these certain benefits, people feel entitled to be absolute ..... about it. It doesn't surprise me that some people who have written reviews on here haven't been placed in housing yet, as if I am totally honest, if you have got a bed at your mums, then you're not homeless, you are not desperate and you are not a priority. If you are in a house that needs the heating sorting out, yet you're on WDH's back instead of just getting it sorted yourself, then again, you need to seriously consider the position you are in. After the rant, I must say, the online website has been down for a few days now so i contacted WDH by phone to see how else I could apply, and within 5 minutes I'd had my call answered and a lovely man give me clear directions into printing off a form and sending it via post. As a person who doesn't have a printer, it's a faff to get it sorted, but why should I complain when I could potentially receive a home for my family. I've had a brilliant experience so far, and I can't understand why some people have the cheek to complain about a service that is totally free.

IGNORANT WHEN IT COMES TO HOUSING ALLOCATIONS

Originally applied in July 2006 so before it even changed to a (CHOICE BASED LETTINGS) they state in their policy that they take every applicants circumstances into consideration when in actual fact this isn’t the case whatsoever the same goes for where it states in the (HOW IT WORKS) it is designed to give you more choice in where you want to live and that it’s the first person who was on the list that gets offered a property when this is another lie in their policy the previous weeks results prove this when it shows that somebody in BAND D gets rehoused in a matter of a month to a year .... despite all the proof they’ve had about my circumstances and also the fact of my mental health which is a disability I’ve have had from a young age ... they’ve chose to ignore everything and also the letters they’ve said I had to write ... instead of helping people they pick ones out that they want to victimise show total ignorance towards ... it’s clear to see that rules are clearly broken when it comes to certain people applying for housing and getting whenever they want ... I’m still on BAND C despite the fact they’ve even had letters from my gp so they don’t actually care what disabilities you have or what illnesses you have instead they use this to their advantage and make things worse than what they was to start with ....CHOICE isn’t in it at all .... one day this so called housing association will eventually be caught out and it will be seen how they clearly treat people how they do with the attitude they have aswell they will also realise when their in a position of needing help or support and when they don’t get it they’ll have to look at how they’ve treated others ... they clearly ignore the fact that your living properties that need serious repairs or living with mold when your asthmatic but when you ask them if they’d live in a situation like yourself they refuse to answer you because they wouldn’t . They don’t like been told the truth whatsoever and if you do they start victimising and start with intimidation towards you ...
