GoogleSarah at Truepenny's was excellent to deal with. Very professional and listened to my needs. Arranged a viewing on a her property with her which turned out to be far better than it looked from the photos. She showed me around and facilitated my being able to ask the current tenant questions about the property. Would highly recommend.

GoogleThe Truepenny's team worked very hard to help us to sell a property recently and kept working efficiently during the pandemic and the lockdown. Special thanks to Connor to communicating very well with both parties to close the deal as it's been a particularly difficult time for both sellers and buyers.PositiveQuality, Professionalism, Value

GoogleI rented out a 1 bedroom flat in East Dulwich through Truepenny's. They found me a lovely tenant, offered me very useful advice as a first time landlord and the whole experience was both efficient and speedy. My point of contact was Lina who could not have been nicer - she was courteous, well-organised and very competent. However, all the staff I met were extremely friendly and prepared to help. I would certainly recommend them to other landlords in the East Dulwich area.

GoogleTruepenny's in Dulwich have been super to deal with over the last 10 years. Ryan and his team secured me excellent tenants when I let out my flat and more recently when I decided to sell it within a short timeframe they were excellent at finding a buyer swiftly, monitoring the whole process from start to finish. Brilliant service from Connor and Kristina. Highly recommend.

GoogleRyan and his team supported me in every aspect of a tricky flat sale. They were extremely helpful and courteous at all points. Their knowledge and expertise made the sale happen - when it could have fallen apart on a number of occasions. Ryan is great at negotiating and keeping both sides working together. Thank you to all at Truepenny's Dulwich. I would recommend their services without hesitation.

GoogleCompany values appear to be "profit before integrity".
Edit after reply:
Mr Vella - thanks for your response and it's specificity. I realise I could have been more specific with my review!
As I tried to make clear to multiple employees in the Greenwich branch, I have no hard feelings about the practice of a multiple bid situation occuring after an offer has been accepted. It may be ethically dubious but, as your agents made clear, it is perfectly legal. Based on the content of your reply, it seems like that message still hasn't made it's way through...
Instead, what has bothered me is that Hayden and/or Wallace appear to have fabricated details of the situation in an attempt to justify the above practice.
After being told that my offer would be "un-accepted", I expressed my concerns about a bidding war starting. Hayden admitted that there had been two competings bids (from the same buyer) to mine earlier in the day before my offer had been accepted. Hayden reassured me that the value of those bids (the 1st of which he revealed to me) meant they "probably weren't able to stretch much higher".
I expressed my frustration that I hadn't been told about those competing bids when my offer was accepted, but agreed to raise my bid after reflecting.
I was later called by Wallace, who made no reference to that bid and told me that I'd be asked to offer my "last and final" bid - another common practice, yes, but one that is designed to heavily profit the vendor and the agent - whilst he defended Hayden, saying he "had no reason to believe that the other couple would have revised their bid after my offer was accepted".
A day later, when Wallace called me to say my bid was unsuccessful, he chose to claim that there had never been any other offers and that he was sorry for my confusion.
Direct contradiction Mr. Vella. You can use the grey area of real estate law to justify practice which favours yourselves and your commissions, but don't justify lying to me.

Dear Oliver,
I am sorry to read of your frustration with Truepenny's.
Multiple bid situations are always difficult, we are legally obliged to put all offers forward to our client and we must then follow their instructions.
We had no choice in this situation but to follow the vendor's wishes.
You were given the opportunity to put forward your best and final offer.
Again, we are sorry you missed out on this occasion, but as previously mentioned we will contact you as soon as something else comes up.
Kind regards,

GoogleAs a first time buyer Wallace Jaffray and the team at TruePenny's were absolutely outstanding from start to finish. They kept me updated of progress and acted as a liaison between myself and the seller where necessary. The team were extremely patient and helpful while I tried to keep on top of a really poorly run conveyancing process courtesy of RG Law.
I would not hesitate to recommend Truepenny's Greenwich.

GoogleDear Ryan,
I’m still waiting for the £130 that were taking unfair and without my approval.
You already agreed to return this money because you know the agency did not have the right to take it.
I want to receive this money transferred in my account or cash or as a check I can collect from the branch.
I DO NOT want to provide a copy of my ID AND my current address as you asked because it is not necessary and I prefer not to disclose to you my new address.
Also, I would welcome the opportunity to view /read the “good reviews” the other 2 tenants gave to your company.
I also expect the company to return the money deducted from the deposit for the professional cleaning unless a receipt from a cleaning company having that date can be provided.
I have reason to believe the agency is using this as an excuse to charge tenants at the end of the contract.
I remind you, the professional cleaning was not present at the beginning of the tenancy and the property was left in clean conditions, was no need for professional cleaning.
I also believe you post wrong information regarding the company.
Truepeny has 3 branches: Dulwich, Charlton and Greenwich, it is the same company, different branch and this the official site of the company.
All the above information are correct and I believe you do not have the reason to contact a solicitor as you worn me .

Hi Alin,
Our position still stands as per our reply to your initial bogus review.
.............................................................................................................................
Dearest Alin,
Whether with yourself or your cousin Mona, we've been in contact a fair amount these last few months! I do hope I receive a Christmas card from you this year!
As explained to you numerous times already, the issues that you have raised are absolutely nothing to do with Truepenny's - They are between you and your co-tenants (who have given good reviews), the Deposit Protection scheme and utility companies.
Firstly, this is the review board for the Dulwich branch, not the Charlton branch - which is the office that you have a misguided disgruntlement with. In any case...
My understanding is:
The security deposit is placed and held with a Government approved scheme, in this case it is the Deposit Protection Scheme.
After renting the property, the security deposit is returned to the tenants, less any amounts for damages.
The security deposit is the money of the tenant, unless proven otherwise by the landlord / managing agent.
Should the property be returned to the landlord in worse condition than it was received, the landlord can ask for the dirt / damage to the property to be withheld. The landlord will need to supply evidence to justify that retention. Only the tenant can approve the release of the funds to be returned to the landlord.
After the acceptance was received from the tenants for the money to be returned, you then raised an argument that you were short-changed £130.
As Truepenny's are the only element in this situation that has a public-facing profile, you have chosen to exploit that fact by posting a negative review out of spite. I have spoken to and agreed with the landlord, in order to save time and effort, to return the £130 to you. The agreement was without prejudice and was as a goodwill gesture to allow all parties to move on.
The terms that we presented the return of the money to you was that you would remove the libellous review, which you verbally agreed to do once the money was paid.
In order for a valid receipt to be created, both the landlord and ourselves need a paper trail. You were not willing to provide us with an address for the receipt, at this point the situation became again frustrated.
The landlord is happy to give you the £130 back but has asked for that detail. I am unsure as to why that has been difficult for you to provide!
To the reader:
Please empathise with Truepenny’s position - We really endeavour to give each and every person an excellent experience, resulting where everyone leaves the relationship happy. In some cases, particularly with multiple tenants sharing communal spaces, arguments can arise as to who owes what to whom - ‘He broke the washing machine, she broke the door handle’ etc.
All of which is out of our control and not for us to resolve. We are instructed by the landlord to act in a fair way and method that ensures everyone is treated fairly and if something is broken / left dirty, then that is made good at the expense of the person who broke or dirtied it.
Regardless of whether they are right or wrong, some people react badly when they don’t get what they want; In Alin’s case, he has found it easy (albeit childish) to vent his frustration on a public review board with absolute nonsense. We believe that we have been more than fair and have given Alin Lordache as much time as is feasible.

GoogleI want to share with you my experience with this company and leave you to decide if it is worth trusting them or not.
Me and 2 more people signed up for a 1 year contract and I was the lead tenant.
At the end of the 1 year contract, we were asked by Truepenny to pay the tax in order to renew the contract which we were happy to pay. We did not complain about the fact that the requested tax was bigger then what was written in the contract, we just paid and did not ask questions.
More then 2 months after paying the tax passed and we still did not receive the new contract, so we did not sign the new contract.
But out of the blue Truepenny informed us that the landlord changed his mind and under the section 21 we have to leave the property in 2 months time.
With section 21 the landlord by the law has to give you 2 months time in order for you as a tenant to be able to find a new place and move out.
Again, we did not ask any questions we just looked for new place to move and asked Truepenny if we could move out earlier then 2 months.
And here is when all the problems started!
We did not receive any answer from Truepenny, we called them, sent emails, call again but was impossible to talk with them!
Finally, we managed to receive a confirmation from a member of staff named Kim and based on this we signed the contract for a new property.
After 15 days since we were trying to contact them, we received an email from Truepenny in which they were informing us that the LANDLORD does not agree with our earlier move out because he will lose money on property and that the reason of answering late to our question was because the LANDLORD was abroad and COULD NOT be contacted.
Also, we were informed that the confirmation received from Kim can not be taking in consideration because she was just working THERE as PART TIME and she was not aware of the situation.
Here we started to became really angry about this situation and explained to them that we already signed a new contract based on a confirmation received from a Truepenny member of staff and we can not stay or pay longer then the date that was confirmed by their member of staff.
They started to send to us intimidating emails and force us to pay extra rent, moment in which we informed them that we prefer not to pay the extra rent and will ask the DEPOSITE company (as a third party) to look into this problem and decide if Truepenny has the right to claim this money.
And I had another surprise!!!!
Me, the lead tenant, I was removed (my name)from the deposite scheme, so I could not ask the deposite company to check and the extra rent was taken from the deposit without my approval.
Also, at the check out Truepenny charged us for professional cleaning even if professional cleaning was not done at the check in.
I confirm that the house was left in very clean conditions, I did not understand why they decided to charge us for professional cleaning and also they charged us for 20 light bulbs, yes, I typed correct, 20 lightbulbs.
I put a very short comment on Truepenny’s official site and the director of the company contacted me and insisted on remove it, in change he promised he will investigate.
After few weeks I was invited to a meeting with him and the director of Charlton branch which is the branch I had problems with.
They agreed to return the money they have taken for the extra rent but they did not want to return the money for professional cleaning which were also unfairly taken.
They also informed me that they are doing this as a favour!!!!!
I did not want to fight with them anymore, I just wanted to finish this !!!
The money were never returned!!!
And now I leave you to decide what to think about this company.
