In recently selling our house we used Simon Blyth Estate Agents and am I glad we did. We took their advice and priced it a lot higher then advised by others and to our surprise (not Simon Blyths) within the month we accepted 2K less, whooo!! We were also very lucky in having Becky Hampshire handle the sale and she was awesome. She kept the whole thing on track working very closely with our solicitor to keep it moving and everyone on the same page. She is full of spot on advice and pearls of wisdom as well as being an excellent judge of character and knowing how most people think. This is the third house move we have done and I have never met someone so determined to do an outstanding job and genuinely care about her clients and the out come. Will defiantly be calling on her in the future.

Until Maria joined the team at penistone I was in the process of changing estate agents. Maria found a buyer for me and kept me informed throughout the whole process. The sale wasn't trouble free due to the length of the chain, however Maria worked tirelessly to make things happen. she was also very helpful with my purchase even though she wasn't acting on the seller's behalf, the estate agents of where i was purchasing were quite demanding. Because the sale of my property wasn't straightforward , which from my experience is quite normal I was glad that I had Maria ironing out the problems.

Has to be the winner in (Awful Service) Award! Shameful behaviour when it comes to submitting an offer and underhanded tactic for squeezing another penny from a buyer but loosing a potential buyer because you need another few hundred pound to cover the advertising. Not turning up for viewing appointments for potential buyers! 3rd time for me alone waiting over 40min for the agent to show.. your terrible and you know it. My advise and the advise of 70% of other people on TP is to look at others.. good luck people.

Horrible service and a disrespectful follow up

Horrible, and poor is some of the few words that can only describe SB! Customers (me) having to wait in the rain without even a phone call to let me know that they forgot about my viewing. Are you still working on a chalk board? Even after a call to them on the day to ask if they are turning up and they just say we are running behind. That’s it! I even made a cash offer and was having a final look before proceeding. I’m sure all the vendors would love know a cash offers has been lost due to SB poor follow up service. If this is how customers are treated I would suggest you use someone else people.

Terrible Lettings Service Experience We recently found a new home in Honley for our 78 year old mother in law. Simon Blyths Lettings failed to return calls, misdirected information, messed up the rental paperwork, and worse of all - confused and contacted the elderly lady directly, despite being specifically asked not to. All the way through the process they showed levels of incompetence that was explained in writing by Simon Lewis, the Lettings Manager as as a consequence of them being busy. Well good luck and im pleased your so busy because I will never use your services or recommend them again.

After an incredibly shaky start with our primary point of contact (who subsequently left), our sale was handed over to Sarah and Martin who, quite frankly saved the day as far are we're concerned. Earlier this year (2017) we put our house up for sale with Simon Blythe and, after doing many viewings (and discovering that many vendors are precisely as dishonest as you might think) we put an offer in on what we hope will be the last property we buy. Unfortunately, this is where the whole process started to unravel. The deceit, dishonesty and outright lies we've encountered in the purchasing process have been shocking, to say the least. However, the support and help we've received from Martin & Sarah has been quite unbelievable, through their hard work and diligence they managed to turn what was about to become a complete disaster for all parties (two other families in the chain behind us) into a trio of exchanges and completions. It's hard to put this kind of gratitude into words and frankly, words would never be enough anyway. The professionalism, composure, honesty and integrity demonstrated by Martin & Sarah has been as shocking as it has been a relief. Based on our experiences, we'd have no hesitation in recommending their services to friends and family alike.

Simon Blyth, an estate agent that helps cement the stereotype that estate agents are *****. After waiting half an hour for him to turn up to our appointment we tried his office, which just rang out. We waited another half an hour in case he was stuck in traffic..... and had forgotten his PHONE! But to no avail. We double checked the email confirmation to make sure it wasn’t us that were the idiots but no.... we were at the right place at the right time. Driving home with our two screaming kids I saw he had a lot of houses on the market... it’s likely to be, not because he’s so highly regarded but because he doesn’t turn up to sell them. It’s his wife I feel for the most in all this, because he clearly couldn’t give a ****!
