TrustpilotCaring people
I've being dealing with the Seymours team in the Guildford office (I've dealt with other offices in the past as well) selling my elderly mothers property that I grew up in. The sale was obviously an emotional one as the home has been in the family for nearly 50 years! They weren't just a business, they were people who actually cared for our emotions. Fantastic all round and I couldn't be more appreciative - Thank you so very much.

Very impressive company and team. We rented a property through Seymours for close to 3 years and found the team to be responsive, efficient and excellent to deal with. They always responded very quickly to any issues we had and unlike many ‘agents’ we’ve dealt with in the past they were also open and honest. A genuinely great experience and would highly recommend.

TrustpilotThank You Seymours
Fab team at Seymours, super helpful. Our property fell through due to problems with the buyers. Seymours surpassed our expectations and had another buyer in place and able to proceed within the week. Amazing service, very professional and helped us all the way throughout the process and kept all the plates spinning on our behalf to ensure we completed on schedule. We can't thank the team enough, without them we certainly would not have been able to move home. We would (and have) highly recommend Seymours to anyone wishing to buy or sell their property.

Terrible experience using Seymours to sell our house. We had nothing but issues with our buyers and actually found out that once we had agreed a sale - Seymours were still showing our buyers around properties behind our back!We managed a quick sale though a smaller estate agency that cared about their customers and actually got us a much better price. I would never use them again unfortunately.

GoogleIf I could score in negatives I would! We have sold and brought many houses but Seymours, Chris and Ben, were absolutely unprofessional and unethical. We had an accepted offer on a house, initially we found it odd why Ben kept calling us every other day even though we had explained we have an appointment next week with the bank. Unfortunately, due to unexpected issues We decided to re-negotiate the agreed offer and when we realised it was not possible we decided to stick with the original offer as we loved the house. Interestingly within hours of this conversation ben let it slip that another buyer had put an offer on the house! How they managed to do that whilst we had an accepted offer is still beyond me! Nevertheless despite sticking with the agreed offer, Seymours started ghosting us! Not answering if we are going ahead with the sale or answering our emails or questions from our bank. After nearly 5 days, Chris told us he will respond to us by Friday and when he didn’t, we called on Saturday And apparently he doesn't work on weekends and he simply had left us hanging! (Who does that in a professional world!?). We then decided to give up on the house and Seymour's NEVER called us back. We wasted 5 days, multiple phone calls and never got a clear answer. I can only imagine , there was something illegal and unethical going on that an estate agent would act in such way, otherwise surely they could have simply replied. If you want a reasonably honest answer dont go hereNegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism, Value

TrustpilotFriendly, Professional, Efficient, Fantastic
The team at Seymours were able to find us a buyer (at asking price) very quickly after a few months with no luck under a different estate agent. Their sales and client relations team are all extremely professional and friendly and explain things in leyman's terms for those of us who have little knowledge of how property sales work! The team looked after us from start to finish and were friendly and approachable throughout, and also helped us to agree on a nice early exchange and completion for our sale. I would thoroughly recommend Seymours if you are looking to buy or sell your property.

TrustpilotAppalling management of property let through Seymours Godalming.
In my two year tenancy, the property management was so appalling I stopped reporting anything but major issues. I had to chase endlessly and never had any courtesy communication to inform me of what was happening. Now, having moved out three weeks ago, I still do not have my deposit and am told the landlord will be looking at making deductions after receiving a completely misleading checkout report which makes none of the below into account.- I reported the broken bedroom window in OCTOBER 2019. It was only repaired a year later in SEPTEMBER 2020. That meant a year, including winter with a bedroom window that did not close (the only window in the room). Despite being newly fitted, the new window does not close unless forced as reported to their property department, and it was not made good until a couple of months ago. (Broken window noted as my responsibility on check out report)- There was a reasonably serious leak through the hall skylight which destroyed the 'missing' door mat, and marked the hallway floor (noted as my responsibility) as reported to the women who checked the flat whilst I was still living there. The walls and ceiling in the hall, bathroom and bedroom had to be re-painted as a result but instead of doing a full job, they were instructed to just paint over the flaking paint which meant that only a few months later, the paint started flaking again. (noted as my responsibility) It is also the same decorators who marked the wall next to the bedroom window when they moved my cupboard back into place whilst the paint was still wet - as reported to them. (noted as my responsibility)I reported an issue with the lighting in DECEMBER 2020. It required rewiring all the lights in the bathroom and living areas which was only carried out at the end of MAY 2021, meaning I again had to spend all of winter, whilst working from home during a pandemic lockdown with ONE working lightbulb in the living area. Due to the SIX MONTH delay in carrying out the works, when the electrician finally did come he did not bring enough bulbs - hence one bulb not replaced in the bathroom. (Noted as my responsibility)When the same electrician came beforehand to carry out his electrical check, he tripped the wiring, making me lose internet connection and miss an afternoon of important calls, after which I had to plug my router directly into the socket, having a line across the hall for months. I left the router for the new tenant. The checkout report claimed this was left in poor condition and my responsibility. When I had to have the washing machine replaced that too took TWO MONTHS.The 'very loose' bathroom towel ring was already loose, and the 'removed' bedroom doorstop was never attached as can be seen in the initial inventory report. (noted as my responsibility) (Noted as my responsibility)I could go on. And I have the e-mails and the tradesmen to back me up.The only thing I will concede is that my bike bumped the wall leaving a mark as I was moving out and given Seymours had arranged professional cleaners I thought it would be dealt with. Given the appalling delays in fixing anything at the property, the total lack of communication, and my extremely tolerant stance where I did not demand rent reductions, I most certainly do not expect to have to pay for any minor issues with the flat which are a result of wear and tear. I was told the check out had to be impartial, ie only commenting on how it was at checkin vs checkout but how is a completely false representation of the facts, ignoring the events of the intervening years impartial?

TrustpilotHorrendous experience with Seymours!
Review of Seymours!Have had a bit of an ordeal trying to break a tenancy (that is allowed in our agreement subject to T's & C's). The noise in the property above our rental is affecting my work, sleep, mental health & wellbeing and comfort. In addition the hubbys been furloughed and we need to leave. Have been round and round in circles with a Seymours Property Manager asking for her to contact the Landlord to propose our exit. This is our right as a tenant and we asked early March for the Landlord to be contacted. After emailing twice this week we've been told that the Landlords been contacted and they've asked if we have spoken to our neighbours re. noise. We had to chase for the response, we have repeatedly told Seymours that we have spoken to the neighbours and nothing can be done re. noise due to the make of the building. We have had to repeat ourselves continuously and chase for a response. Update: in the last 24 hours communication has improved. Hubby has gone into the Surbiton office, they've been extremely helpful and have given us more context to the situation which is fantastic because we felt like we were being heard and things are moving in a positive direction. The response below from Seymours was also very prompt and detailed. I hope the good communication can continue.Further update July 2021Communication did not improve unfortunately. Continued to be extremely poor even after the reply to this post. We accepted a tenancy in another property and brought forward our moving date at SEYMOURS instruction as they'd told us they had a tenant needing to move into our property early. Then 7 days before our tenancy was meant to end we were told we'd need to cover the rent for another month as the tenant couldn't move when they'd advised. So we were having to pay rent twice now at SEYMOURS instruction even after informing them that my husband was furloughed. In addition they've returned part of our deposit and without our consent they've taken money from our deposit. Awful experience. Couldn't be less professional if they tried.I will avoid this company in the future and I recommend you let and purchase property elsewhere...

Dear Keri,I am sorry to hear that you have not had a great experience with Seymours Lettings and Management. I appreciate your feedback and please be assured that we do take your commitment to delivering top quality customer very seriously.I appreciate that noisy neighbours can be difficult to live with, however we have rented this flat for some time and did not had any complaints from the previous tenants so we were unaware there was an issue. I also understand that being furloughed is stressful and that you are looking to be released in light of your change in circumstance. I am sure that we can reach a mutually agreeable way forward between you and the Landlord but ultimately as agent we do not have the authority to give consent to allow you to terminate a tenancy that we are not party to. I apologise if our communication have not been up to scratch, I will certainly address this with the staff involved. I believe that you are now in regular communication with the team.I hope that we are able to find a way forward for you and your Landlord to allow this situation to be drawn to a close, please feel free to contact at the office directly or should you prefer, you can e-mail at helen@seymours-woking.co.ukKind regardsHelen BlowerAssociate Partner

TrustpilotAbout as bad as an estate agent could be.
Post my separation from my wife 5 years ago, I had to rent a property until I could get the deposit together for a house of my own. Despite being a professional, middle aged man with a 25 year career and a 6 figure salary, I have been treated like some kind of second class citizen by these people due to the fact I’ve been a tenant. I let two properties (both of which were unusual, but were let through seymours, so I had no choice). The first one I was told ‘not to tell the council about the property and I wouldn’t have to pay council tax as it was an annex’. Not only is this illegal, but on the day I moved in, THEY informed the council, meaning I had to pay the council tax anyway. The second property was a new build and had a fair few problems. All of these were reported to seymours, but I had one visit from someone to resolve these and that was it. When checkout came (when I finally bought a new house - NOT through seymours), the checkout was so in favour of the landlord that even minor marks on the wall (EXTREMELY minor!!) we’re pointed out as my responsibility, despite them being acceptable wear and tear due to a 2 year tenancy. They also included photos in the checkout which showed the property as having coats and general ‘stuff’ on the work surfaces despite the fact the house was totally empty when I left. These photos were of the checkout agents stuff, but gave the landlord the impression that I’d left rubbish in the house. Not the case. They also reported stuff like door handle decoration being loose around the handles, despite this being one of my complaints to them as these items hadn’t been fitted properly when I moved in. I’m currently fighting them to get my considerable deposit back, and on speaking to other agents and people who have dealt with them before, it seems they’re known for making it a fight to get your deposit back and really not giving a rats about tenants. I think they need to realise that when it comes to managed tenancies, it’s the tenants that actually pay them, and should stop taking advantage. I’m a very calm, nice guy, but due to the degree of frustration I’ve been through with seymours, I simply cannot even speak to their staff anymore without becoming frustrated and getting snappy. If that’s the result your business ethic has on someone like me, you need to realise just how badly you’re screwing things up. If I don’t get my deposit back within the next week, I’ll be raising a case in the small claims court against them. I’ve genuinely had enough of their crap.EDIT: In response to Seymour's reply below - it's the Woking lettings office.

From the start when Seymours Burpham came to value our property, to the viewings and then finally the sale/purchase and completion, Seymours were friendly, helpful and professional.
