GooglePalmers gave us a proffessional and personal service while selling our house and moving into our next. We had regular contact with the team who were dealing with our properties and they were very much available to help from beginning to end and always happy to answer questions along the way. Would highly recommend for both sales and rentals.

GoogleWe used Palmer and Partners to find a new tenant for our rental property in Colchester and I can't recommend them highly enough. What we had previously found to be a very stressful experience was made so easy by Jon and his team. They found us a great tenant very quickly and with a minimum of fuss. It's refreshing to find a Colchester letting agent that really looks after people.

GoogleI would highly recommend Palmer & Partners to anyone looking for an agent to let out their property in Colchester. I received excellent service from them recently. Jon and his team were friendly and very professional. A big thank you to Jon for helping us let out our property in just over a week!

GoogleMy wife and I chose Palmer and Partners to market our house. I feel it would be unfair to leave any negative points regarding the time it took to sell our house as it was over the winter period, so naturally things take a while to sell, once winter passed things picked up and it sold just before spring.
What I have learned as part of the sale and purchasing process is you get bad agents and good ones. It took a while to decide who to choose given the number of agents around in Colchester, and then there are cheaper online agents to consider too, I must admit I was nearly lured into the cheaper offerings from online agents, but I'm glad I wasn't.
Palmer and Partners really shine, yes, they are more expensive than an online agent but I genuinely feel you get what you pay for. Our sale was rather unusual as we sold to an investor and rented back from them until we found somewhere to move to (our forever home), I'm confident in saying a transaction like this would not have gone as smoothly with an online agent, or many of the other agents I've spoken to in the Colchester region in the last year or so.
The communication and knowledge from both Toby and Alex is exemplary, you call when you say you will, you give advice, you make sure everything is in place when it needs to be and nothing is too much trouble. You are both a great asset to the company.
I genuinely feel a bit sad now the sale part of the transaction is complete as I'll miss the phone conversations.
Once again, Toby and Alex, thank you for making the sale of our house a pleasure rather than a chore. I wish you all the best for the future.

GoogleBooked P&P Ipswich to value my house. Half an hour after the guy was due I called the office to see where he was. Said is he not there? I said no. They said well he will be on his way. I said to let him know not to bother coming. Was a little frustrated as we'd organised the day around getting back for the appointment. They said they'd let him know. 30 mins later there is a knock at the door. Was the P&P guy obviously trying to get the listing back. Blamed someone in his office for writing the wrong house number down and has been looking for the house for 30 mins (which still made him 30 mins late if this was true). Showed me a scrap of paper with wrong address written on it (I'm guessing by him to try and cover his lateness) I said you had my numer why didn't you call. Didn't answer so shut the door. Then today I get a generic letter about how they've notice my house is on the market and they are surprised at how long it's been on and they could do better.....at the date of the letter my house had only been on the market 1 day. Shoddy operation. Would not recommend.

GoogleVery disappointed with the service, and we never even got as far as viewing a property! Myself and my partner phoned about various properties we were interested in, each time we were told someone would phone us back with a viewing time but no one ever did. Apparently only 1 member of staff could deal with booking appointments and she was always off or 'on the phone'. Several properties we were interested in were let before we even got a chance to see them as no one was contacting us back about appointments. You would think they didn't want the business! I feel this is very poor customer service, whenever you go in the offices the staff are literally just sitting around so I can't imagine not one person would be free throughout the day to call us back. Now if I see a property advertised which has Palmer and Partners as the letting agent I won't even bother phoning to enquire as the likelihood is it will get us nowhere!

GoogleRented with Palmers for a year and they were incompetent since day one. Our paperwork was full of errors - we signed a tenancy agreement stating the property rent was £625 and then when we went to pick up the keys the signed paperwork had magically changed to £650 - they had forged our signatures onto a new document with increased rental fee!! Luckily, we didn't have to deal with them for the next year as we were dealing with the landlord direct who was fab. We recently moved out of the property and found once again they were awful...they cancelled viewings without telling us. I can only assume the staff never talk to each other as the communication appears to be non-existent! Selling a property with Palmers in Sudbury on the other hand who have been excellent - perhaps they need a few lessons from this branch!
Also, they have just tried to offer us our deposit back again even though they already sent it to us last week - another example of the awful communication!

Dear Lauren, firstly we are sorry to hear you are disappointed with our lettings services, we take all feedback very seriously. Our lettings manager has tried calling you several times over the last couple of days to discuss this matter with you. None of the problems were escalated to our lettings manager at the time so we can only assume that they were dealt with by the relevant person when these were raised. If this isn't the case, we would of welcomed the opportunity to deal with your problems to prevent you feeling the need to leave such a negative review without giving us the chance to do anything about this. We would like to point out that there would be no such circumstance whereby we would forge any ones signature on a legal document. We wish you the best in your new home.

GoogleI recently decided to put my flat on the market with Palmer & Partners, they came highly recommended and surpassed all my expectations. Andrew the senior valuations manager provided me with a detailed list of comparable property's and suggested the best price to market. The property sold within 2 days and in excess of the asking price. I was provided with updates all the way through the process until the monies hit my bank. I couldn't be happier and will be recommending them to my family and friends.

GoogleAppalling service, absolutely useless. We had issues with our rental property and called the agency 4 times, and begged them to give us a call back each time. They always promised to do so but never bothered calling us back. They never helped us when we needed them to, and they even tried to charge us "moving out fees" of £120 even though this never appeared on our contract. Of course they contacted us by e-mail regarding the fees as they are too scared to say it over the phone. We fought for our rights and they agreed to remove the fees, but still, the point is that they tried to get us to pay fees that we didn't actually owe them, and that in itself is really shocking. They fit the stereotype of estate agents perfectly: once you have signed your contract there is no one to help you, and they will do anything to make an extra fiver from you.Overall the service they provide is horrendous and non existent. I only put 1 star rating because you can't put 0 star.Stay well away from them...

Hello Adrian. I am sorry that you felt it necessary to leave a negative review. However, we did not manage your property so we had absolutely no authority to help with any issues you may have had mid tenancy - you had to deal direct with your landlord. The error with the check-out fee was simply because you initially rented through another agent (who had a higher checkout fee than us). We did not charge you the higher amount that you had agreed to with the other agent - we chose to waive it all together. We are a small, family run business and we take this kind of feedback very seriously. If there is anything we can do to clarify things, please do get in touch.

GoogleMyself and my partner due to drainage issues at my previous address had a month to move.
After calling up to view a few properties with other estate agents and not finding the service or some of the properties satisfactory by chance I called Palmer and Partners as it was one company I passed daily and had slipped my mind (SILLY ME)
We are son glad we did Lilie was superb and met us that day to arrange a viewing that afternoon, Lilies was polite and so genuine we had met a couple of agents that day who were disinterested and the properties were not very pleasant.
We went away with a huge decision to make between the one lilie had shown us and another.
After a well needed break and beverage we decided on the property with Palmer and partners and within two hours put deposit down.
Though they were given only under 4 weeks we were in our new home within 3 weeks after it all.
Lilie and John both brilliant and did all they could to get us in our flat. At times ito was very stressful due to personal and referencing issues, but, they eased the pressure and stress and were so supportive every step of the way.
Since then we have various contact with Amie and Anita also and maintenance, queries and emails all been dealt with within the day and miaintenance issues within couple hours after renting myself over 15years not known this kind of service.
Even before Christmas Amie gave a courtesy call to see if al was okay before they closed.EXCELLENT customer service, friendly team and estate agents, put it this way we will be recommending Palmer and partners and for as long as we rent we will be staying with these guys.
THANKS ALL :-)
