GoogleIf you want an estate agent who have no knowledge of the lettings market, who have the best couldn’t care less attitude you wouldn’t believe, who never reply to your emails, who never return your phone calls, who just don’t want to know, this is the one. Avoid or use them at your peril

GoogleResponse to Monks regarding this original review Viewed a property, put a offer in, for a property that had fallen through twice in a chain, advised vendor is keen to sell to a buyer who is chain free. So, chain free and nothing to sell suits us in a very good position, the position this seller wants......so, we put our offer in only to hear someone put a very slightly higher offer in, finding out its only £1000, alarm bells ringing!!! how someone else would know how much slightly higher to put in unless they been told how much more to raise the offer !!! and also they are in a chain!!!! so, as we really liked this property we decided to do all we could to raise extra funds and put a higher offer in £5000 more, to be totally surprised to hear that the seller doesn't want our higher offer, he would rather take the 5k lower offer and stick with the person in the chain, haha!!! not to mention the disheartened voice from monks when we raised our offer. Ummmm something fishy going on here!! I question as to is same chain all going through with monks, must be a lot of money to lose if one falls through so if this was the case it would be best to keep all in house, I smell a rat here!!!!! Response to reply from Monks, We did indeed have a telephone conversation, The telephone conversation resolved nothing, only revealed the true colours' and actually you failed to answer how the buyer was aware of our offer considering we placed an offer 24k lower than the asking price. The other bidder was either physic or told our offer by someone who knew what offer we placed how much to bid very sightly higher in price in to 'secure the deal' because I revealed to Monks our top offer. You also state from your review 'as I'm aware' you weren't involved - just to confirm I'm not aware! - in addition, after viewing a further property with Monks Shrewsbury at 5 pm, on a Monday 22 May 2023, we were not even given the opportunity of putting an offer in!!! call on Tuesday morning 23 May 2023 to say another property we just viewed at 5 pm the previous evening had sold !!!!again lack of transparency and integrity - I thought estate agents usually call all prospective people who have viewed that property (within 2 hours of opening the office) to say a offer had been placed and would you like to place an offer - not Monks - I would never buy or sell with you due to lack of integrity and transparency and as you are aware I am awaiting a complaint response still from 2 weeks ago? as I am reporting your conduct further.

I would like to clarify the following; As you are aware, we didn’t disclose any offer figures to any offering parties as we always look for the best interest of our clients. Overall, we act on behalf of our clients. We forwarded all the offers to our clients and took their instructions. Our clients decided to accept the offer from the other party and just to clarify, the party chosen by our clients has nothing to do with Monks or is part of any of our chains, and they are selling through another agent. GoogleIf I could rate more than 5 stars I would. I have just bought a property through Monks in Oswestry and Beth Griffiths was absolutely fantastic! Very knowledgeable and highly professional. I thought everything might fall apart due to some messing about in the chain below us, but Beth really took ownership of the problem and drove it to a successful conclusion. I really think it would not have happened without Beth, and I cannot praise her highly enough.
