GoogleEnquired about a property to rent and James answered the phone. He couldn't wait to get me off the phone and cut me off when I was speaking. I sent in an email for someone else to help and mentioned the above in the email. No response from anyone after a week of waiting.

GoogleRecently sold our home with Monks. The whole team were fantastic from our valuation with Chris, viewings with Ethan and Beth coordinating the completion of the sale. GoogleThe best estate agent in town. We recently sold our first home through Monks. It was quite a challenging process with some hurdles along the way however the staff at Monks handled it professionally. Nothing was too much trouble, often ringing multiple times a week to get updates. The team work so hard and would hands down recommend them to anyone looking to sell their home. Hats off to Ethan, Beth, Louise, Chris and the rest of the team who are all superstars. Thanks so much. We're very grateful for all your hard work, getting us moved the week before Christmas.

GoogleDealt with Monks from the valuation to the sale of our property. Our sale was complex, with a long chain and a lot of moving parts. Beth was brilliant all the way through the process. She was very professional, personable and dedicated. Beth guided us through the sale from start to finish, and was excellent at chasing others down the chain. She was great at frequently communicating how things were going along. I would highly recommend Monks.

They were consistently great communicators and very approachable which is a god send in the selling/buying process. They were always happy to talk to us wether in person or on the phone. GoogleRent at your own risk ! I am a current tenant, facing issues since I moved in. Upon signing the contract, they hunted for the keys for ONE HOUR because it was missing. When I finally moved in, there was no electricity or heating and I called the office, where the guy said he would get back to me ASAP as i had literallyjust got the keys. It was Saturday, they close at 12 and he never rang back. I had to go back to my previous landlord and stay extra 4 days while they sorted it out. Heating/ hot water is often an issue here, common areas are mouldy with fungus on carpet, I will update review with pictures. I also had locks changed recently, where their contractor clearly showed me the extra key he was "supposedly" taking to the office. Then Monks confirmed on phone they never received it and will check with the man, meaning there is a strange man out there with access to my flat, which is scary as a single woman. This also poses a safety issue and being new to town, I will have to seek advice from council/ citizen advice. If you really like a property and want this agent, ONLY do so if you don't have vulnerable tenants, not living by yourself (constant repairs), not a woman new here (safety concern), don't have mental health/ health issues (stress), don't have a social life (poorly maintained, can't have people over). As a single person, it is difficult to stay back for constant repairs from work. They tend to lose their management keys often, so they won't be in for contractors to work. Staff are always rude, and one quick call by anyone to this agent is sufficient to confirm if this is true. Other reviews here also confirm the same. They are decidedly unhelpful on phone, and unless its racial, I suppose it can't be personal, so it is probably the problem as a company. Avoid - unless you have extra time to go behind issues. Or you will be miserable here like me, while you seek to move again (the hassle of finding a new home ! ) A home should be your safe space, and a half decent agent will be better ensure that.

GoogleFantastic estate agents. Really helpful and super friendly from the evaluation to the sale. Always on the phone/email when needed (even after hours). Selling a house is an extremely stressful thing to do and both Beth and Ethan were always super helpful and friendly despite me, at times, being a little irrational! Would highly recommend.

GoogleWe dealt with Monks on a house purchase rather than sale, and only wish I’d have used them to sell our property for us beforehand. Had lost faith in estate agents after a house purchase with another agent fell through but Monks and in particular Beth who dealt with our purchase was great start to finish.

I would definitely recommend them to sell or purchase property. Beth deserves a special mention at the Oswestry branch as she accompanied us on our journey!
