We have just successfully exchanged contracts on a house in W12 and have been very impressed by the service and help we've received from Horton & Garton. The house was rented out for 12 months before the sale with H&G as the managing agents. Despite very demanding tenants, everyone in the H&G office was always courteous, friendly and efficient and made the rental of the property much easier for me. Germain Gulevic, in particular, should be singled out for his prompt responses and kind manner. Ashley Clements was also unfailingly polite and eager to facilitate the situation. The sale was also not altogether straightforward but John Horton and Martin Clements did all that they could to straighten out the problems, often emailing me late in the day and ringing to make sure things were clear. Despite some scepticism about estate agents in general, I can honestly say that I would recommend H&G because dealing with them has been a straightforward and even enjoyable experience. Finally, I have to say that I realized H&G were prepared to go beyond the call of duty when John Horton met me at the house 5 minutes after I'd called to say I was having problems with the lock. He not only unlocked the door, he also helped me move 60 boxes that were stored in the attic and then gave me a free H&G umbrella. That's service!

I thought once you had signed up with an estate agent they just sat back and waited for an offer to come in. Not these guys! From the very first meeting and until after completion, I received sound guidance and advice encompassing asking price, showing the property to its best advantage and what to accept. And not only that, once an offer had been accepted, they kept the buyer informed and patient and keen to complete whilst I went through a protracted 5 month conveyancing process with my purchase! I really don't think the big chain estate agents would have given this level of service. Well done Horton & Garton : you are the B E S T !!!

For us Horton and Garton were an oasis in a shark infested sea of estate agents. We were searching for 1 bed flat in W6 and we had become despondent with all other local companies who had little time for us and our limited budget and told us we couldn’t afford to stay in this area. Michael from Horton and Garton was so pleasant, attentive and accommodating that we are thoroughly grateful to him for all his help in finding us our lovely new flat. He was also above the call of duty before and after we completed as he recommended excellent local tradesman to help in our new home. I cannot recommend Horton and Garton highly enough both for sales and lettings. I have known John Horton for over a decade and from the first time I met him I knew he was that very, very rare thing, a trustworthy estate agent. Martin Clements is also fantastic, he has just helped me sell my flat and went beyond the call of duty to ensure the sale went smoothly, successfully navigating some really stressful issues which were out of our control. I have also used Horton and Garton as letting agents, they have always found excellent tenants and managed the property brilliantly. I have had many bad experiences with other agents locally and around the country. In the decade I have used Horton and Garton they have maintained their excellent service and always been friendly and helpful and great to deal with, they really are exceptional. I wouldn't use anyone else.

I am a landlord and used this agency to let me flat out. After a year they told me I would make lots more money by selling my flat,.. so I agreed to them acting as a an agent to sell my flat. I asked my tenants to vacate the flat. However, it has now been 6 months,and my flat still hasn't been sold and the agency keeps asking me for more money. I have already lost £8.000. I have found out that this agency is desperate for money,as their business is failing,and will do absolutely anything to get money. It's a disgrace,and am thinking of reporting them.

I rented my flat via Horton & Garton, and paid for credit check £50, contract £250, agency fees £120. When I paid my rent an deposit by credit card, they also charged me 7% fee, which was £420. When I complained I was shouted at and threatened. They had seemed very friendly to start with,but after the money exchanged hands, the tone changed. I would advice anybody not to use this agency, they are extremely unprofessional and extremely rude.

Martin Clements and John Horton were very helpful and awesome throughout our house purchase in W6. At a certain stage when our sale of house in Barnes was getting delayed, we were close to giving up hope on on our purchase. As first time in a chain, in a rising market and many buyers chasing few properties, we were worried that the seller and// or agent could gazump us. However both Martin and John were very understanding and patient and coached us to constructively work on a close plan. They were always available to answer queries and help us out. Compared to larger estate agency chains in the past, we found them friendly and better equipped with local knowledge. A Professional, friendly Estate Agents who will go above and beyond to help! My husband and I bought our home with John Horton over 9 years ago. When we finally moved back to Australia in 2010, we went back to John for help! Excellent sales team at Horton and Garton - John and Martin oversaw a very difficult sale for us and went to great lengths to try to keep things running as smoothly as possible and ensure the process still went ahead. The photography and brochure produced were excellent and very professional; we had viewings before the listing even went online, all of which I was given feedback on very quickly, and we had an offer exceeding asking price within a week. If asked to list the least trusted business groups on earth, estate agents would be up there with loan sharks, politicians and second hand car dealers. But my experience with Horton and Garton has made me rethink the conventional wisdom. At every stage in selling our house the company has shown a high level of professionalism and integrity. They appointed Martin to look after our sale from valuation to exchange of contracts. He did an excellent job. The company’s local knowledge meant that the property was valued accurately. They presented the property to the buyers clearly, no over inflated claims. And most important, they were able to call on a large group of genuine buyers almost immediately the house went on the market. Within ten days the house had been sold. Perhaps most impressive, they did not stop looking after our interests once the buyer had been found. They have helped us move the sale to exchange by acting as a genuine honest broker during the entire process. Thank you Horton and Garton.

John Horton and his dedicated team work very hard in a highly competitive market to achieve optimum results in both sales and lettings.
