Greystar is committeed to excellence

My experience with Greystar was incredibly rewarding, both personally and professionally. I had the opportunity to work alongside talented, dedicated individuals who genuinely cared about their teams, residents, and communities. Greystar provided valuable opportunities for professional growth, leadership development, and learning. I especially appreciated the relationships I built, the support of my colleagues, and the company's commitment to excellence. I am truly grateful for my time with Greystar and would absolutely recommend the company to anyone looking to grow their career in property management.

I lived in three properties managed by…

I lived in three properties managed by them. I don’t know who’s worse where they’re the property managers or the regional managers or I don’t know who cares list. I have been accused of stealing appliances and I required, requested a submitting in writing that I wanted to see all the footage from the days in which I was theoretically accused from stealing appliances and no one responded to me. I didn’t hire a lawyer because I was very sick and I needed to have surgery and also, of course, I don’t need to steal a new appliance and see because those are not cheap. If you had an issue, in any of the properties that I lived, unless the leasing agents that get paid probably $12 per hour care, they will not do anything. The millionaires run in this company have no care. I even tried to contact the executives for many channels. No one ever replied. They will try to overcharge you, even though I got sick in one of their properties from the disgustingly dirty air vents. If I didn’t have these health issues, I would have sue them for millions of dollars because I never ever failed to pay rent and thank God I have my own property now. I hope they are held accountable, but I know that will never happen. if you’re in the hospitality business and the service industry, that’s what you are supposed to do: Serve your customers.

We’ve had a really great experience with Mohammad (in the maintenance team) over the past couple of months. Since the beginning of July, we’ve reported quite a few different issues at our property, from cleaning and general repairs to more complicated jobs involving door locks, the balcony door and other maintenance problems. He has always been quick to respond and get things sorted. What we really appreciate is how reliable and efficient he is. Even with more complicated jobs, he always makes sure the problem is properly fixed rather than just doing a temporary solution. He is also friendly, polite and respectful whenever he works in our home. We’re genuinely very happy with his work and really appreciate all the help he’s given us. Everything has been handled quickly and to a high standard, and we would definitely recommend Mohammad to other residents!

We had a viewing today at Equipment Works and Jibran was absolutely brilliant. He gave us a thorough and attentive tour of the block, showed us all the amenities, and answered every question we had with so much detail and care. The flats are even better in person than online, and Jibran's customer service really made the experience. He was warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely made us feel looked after. Highly recommend!

I’ve had a really great experience with MyLo, especially thanks to Ihsaan, Matt and Judy. They have all been incredibly helpful, friendly and responsive throughout the whole process. Ihsaan has been very patient and helpful with all of my questions and kept me updated throughout the referencing and tenancy process. Matt has also been amazing and always made sure everything was being taken care of, which made the whole process much less stressful. Judy has been lovely as well and was always happy to help whenever I needed an update or had any questions. I really appreciate the time and effort all three of them have put in to help me. Communication has been excellent and I’ve always felt well looked after as a resident. A huge thank you to Ihsaan, Matt and Judy for making everything so smooth and easy. I’m a resident living in Momento Barking! I have tried all the methods but it doesn’t work that’s why I posted here. Terrible choice with terrible noise! NoiseAbsolutely unacceptable. The noise here is ridiculous. Loud music and constant disturbances in the car park area around the residential building, including directly underneath residents’ balconies. This is supposed to be a home, not a nightclub. What makes it worse is the completely inadequate management and security response. Residents complain, yet nothing seems to be done. What exactly are we paying for? I am furious that I cannot even expect basic peace and quiet in my own home. Nice-looking building, but terrible management, poor security response, and an unacceptable living environment. Management seriously needs to wake up and start listening to residents.

Serious Pest and Maintenance concerns

In May 2026, I discovered rodent droppings throughout my apartment at Harlowe in Euless, Texas & immediately reported the issue. Multiple pest-control treatments & follow-ups were required, and I documented continued activity after treatments, including fresh droppings & a live rodent. The issue remained under treatment and monitoring for more than a month before management informed me the vendor found no evidence of current rodent activity. Because of health concerns, my family stopped residing there while the issue was addressed. In June, I reported a roof leak that caused visible interior ceiling damage. Contractors came to the property, but more than two months later, the damage was still present when I surrendered the apartment. Management offered penalty-free early termination only if I signed a release agreement containing language representing that I had reviewed it with legal counsel. Because of that & concerns about several provisions, I obtained legal advice. My attorney advised me not to sign it as written because he considered it one-sided, believed it did not adequately protect my interests, & advised I would be giving up rights. I did not reject an agreement. My attorney contacted Greystar & the property owner seeking revisions & a fair resolution. According to my attorney's office, Greystar did not respond. Management also told me in writing that if I did not sign the release, my lease would remain in effect & early termination would be subject to standard terms & fees. I filed a BBB complaint seeking resolution. Greystar repeatedly stated that its legal counsel was involved & requested communications proceed through counsel. However, I was never advised that Greystar's counsel contacted my attorney to negotiate a resolution. With no agreement reached, I followed the standard early-termination process, requiring 60 days' notice and an additional termination charge. I continued paying rent during July & August though my family was no longer residing there. After I surrendered possession, Greystar posted a $3,542 “Lease Cancellation/Termination” charge to my account. I made repeated efforts to resolve this matter while meeting my obligations. I reported the problems, cooperated with treatments and repairs, documented the conditions, obtained legal counsel, continued paying rent, & attempted to negotiate a resolution. Despite Greystar stating that its legal counsel was involved, I was never informed that its counsel contacted my attorney to discuss a resolution.

My Experience With Greystar: Why I’ll Never Rent From Them Again

I wish I could give this company zero stars. If you are looking for somewhere to live, I would strongly advise you to think twice before renting from Greystar. They may be one of the largest property management companies, but in my personal experience, their treatment of residents has been extremely disappointing. If you want to find yourself at risk of eviction and potentially without a place to live, then rent from them. They do not seem to care about the circumstances their residents are facing. Their lawyers don’t seem to care either. Missed one month’s rent, or even have a relatively small balance, and you can quickly find yourself facing court. What is most frustrating is that they would rather allow your balance to continue growing than work with you on a reasonable payment arrangement. Even when you are trying to make a partial payment, it can feel like they would rather refuse it, let the balance accumulate, and move forward with eviction proceedings. This is how families end up losing their homes. And it doesn’t stop there. The additional fees, maintenance issues, constant turnover, and lack of consistency can make the entire experience even more frustrating. You never know who is going to show up at your home for maintenance because there always seems to be someone new. And then there is the security deposit. The process of getting it returned can take an unreasonable amount of time. I can only speak from my own experience, but I would not recommend Greystar to anyone who is looking for stable, compassionate, and resident-focused housing. At this point, I’ve decided to focus my energy on becoming a homeowner. Honestly, I’m grateful for one thing: this experience has motivated me even more to work toward owning my own home. I never want my family’s housing security to be completely dependent on a property management company again. This experience has shown me exactly what I don’t want, and it has given me even more motivation to become a homeowner.

Extremely disappointing experience

Extremely disappointing experience, I would not recommend this property This has been by far the worst experience I have ever had with a leasing office or property management company. I would strongly encourage anyone considering renting here to stay away and, at the very least, get absolutely everything in writing. During my application process, there was an issue that the leasing office was aware of. I was told that my application had been approved with conditions and that, because I had a qualified guarantor, I would be able to move forward. Based on those representations, I paid the required rent and fees, was added to the lease, had my vehicle registered, received access to the property and gate, and was told I could move in and remain at the property. I initially worked with Phil and Terrio in the leasing office, and they were aware of the situation and the discussions surrounding my approval. I later dealt with Stevie in upper management, and unfortunately, the situation became even more frustrating. After I had already been approved, paid the required amounts, been added to the lease, and received access to the property, I was told that I could no longer remain. Now, as a result of how this situation has been handled, I am being forced to find another place to live on extremely short notice and potentially pay new application fees, deposits, and moving expenses all over again. This is an enormous inconvenience and financial burden that could have been avoided if the situation had been handled correctly from the beginning. What makes this especially frustrating is that I have tried to be more than reasonable and resolve this directly with the leasing office. Instead, I have received inconsistent information and a completely different position after I had already relied on what I was originally told. I have documentation supporting my experience, including communications from the application process. I understand that properties have qualification requirements, but I believe residents should be able to rely on the information provided to them by the leasing office. This has been the worst rental experience I’ve personally had, and based on my experience, I would not recommend this property. Do not come here without getting absolutely everything in writing and keeping records of every conversation. I sincerely hope upper management reviews how this situation was handled, because no resident should have to deal with this level of uncertainty after being told they were approved and making housing arrangements based on that approval.

Bad Experience, Worse Staff

Their employees and managers have no customer service training outside of fake smiles and lying to you to get you out of the office. We were specifically lied to about billing in a major way. The INTERNET GOES OUT constantly. Multiple times a months for full days and sometimes weekends at a time. They regularly change the trash collection times and schedules. The apartments are CHEAPLY made and you can feel it from the barely laminated floors to the PAPER THIN WALLS you can hear everything through. If you have any other option for where to leave, go there. Outside of the maintenance staff, who are all good people, Prose Evergreen is a DISASTER I would avoid.

⭐ 1 Star

⭐ 1 Star, Extremely Disappointing Experience with Greystar My experience with Greystar has been extremely disappointing, particularly when it comes to maintenance, customer service, and management attitude. Maintenance issues are often handled poorly, and getting a simple issue resolved can require repeated follow-ups. What is even more frustrating is the arrogant and dismissive attitude shown by some of the management staff. As a resident, you expect basic courtesy and accountability, but unfortunately that has not been my experience. Another major concern has been the sudden increase in maintenance/other charges without what I consider adequate communication or justification. Residents should not feel like unexpected charges can simply be imposed without transparency. The most frustrating part is the referral bonus. I have been following up for four months regarding a referral bonus that is still not paid. Four months of repeated follow-ups for something that should have been handled routinely is completely unacceptable. Overall, this has been a very poor resident experience. For a company managing people’s homes, I expected much better communication, professionalism, transparency, and accountability. Unfortunately, Greystar has fallen far short of those expectations. Think twice before choosing a Greystar property. Once you become a resident, getting issues resolved can feel like an endless exercise in follow-up.

Our experience living at a…

Our experience living at a Greystar-managed property, Finisterra on Grove, has left us with an extremely negative impression of Greystar's management practices. The problems have not been limited to one incident. They have involved inspections, fines, rules we could not locate in our signed lease, parking changes, towing, repeated amenity issues, and poor responses when we raised legitimate concerns. One major issue began with patio/porch inspections in April. Our patio/porch was inspected without advance notice to us, and violations and fines followed based on criteria regarding what residents were allowed to keep outside. Some of these specific requirements were communicated through management emails, yet we could not find them in our signed lease. Residents should not have to search through management emails to determine what can suddenly result in a fine. Parking has also become increasingly frustrating. There used to be considerably more free resident parking, but after Greystar took over, numerous spaces became paid/reserved spaces. This reduced the amount of regular parking available to residents. The worst experience was having one of our vehicles towed by Greystar's towing contractor, Maverick Towing. The vehicle had a valid Finisterra parking permit, was registered with the property, had current state registration, was operable, and was regularly driven. Management itself acknowledged in writing that the vehicle had a valid Finisterra permit. Nevertheless, we were told that Maverick considered the vehicle "immobile/stored" because it allegedly had not moved. According to management, it was tagged on August 4 and towed on August 6. We did not see the alleged warning before the tow. The vehicle had in fact been driven only days earlier. We had to pay $185 to recover a properly permitted vehicle. This was especially disruptive because the vehicle belonged to a wheelchair user and contained medical supplies. Recovering it required a lengthy trip and missing work. Despite disputing the tow and asking management to identify the specific rule justifying it and provide supporting evidence, Greystar refused to reimburse us. We have also dealt with repeated gym/amenity closures, including closures lasting around two weeks at a time. Amenities are part of what residents pay for, and repeated extended closures add to the frustration when combined with everything else. What has bothered us most is the overall pattern: rules and enforcement practices that have felt arbitrary, insufficient communication, fines and towing, reduced convenient parking, recurring amenity problems, and management responses that have not meaningfully resolved our concerns. We understand that apartment communities need reasonable rules and parking enforcement. Our objection is not to reasonable enforcement. It is to residents being penalized under circumstances where the basis for that enforcement is unclear, disputed, or difficult to locate in the lease they actually signed. Based on our experience at Finisterra on Grove, I would be extremely hesitant to rent another property managed by Greystar. Before signing at a Greystar property, I strongly recommend carefully reading every lease and addendum, keeping copies of management communications, documenting the condition and location of your vehicles, and keeping records of every interaction involving warnings, violations, or fines.

If I could give them 0 stars I would!

If I could give them 0 stars I would! My son was in one of their buildings in Savannah (Ann Street Lofts). They decided to sell the building and everyone needed to vacate by June 30th of this year. We vacated by June 1st. Everything needed to be out of the apartment. Onsite management was useless. Regardless, we did what we could. A month later, we get a notice from a collection agency to say we owe utility charges for the month of May and June. I explained that the apartment had already been vacated for the month of June and we shouldn't be liable for June's charges. They said I needed to provide proof?!? There was no way to get in touch with the building at this time. I paid the balance because if I didn't it would impact my credit rating. I will never live in a Greystar building again!

Deep disregard for tenants, poor service and misleading advertising

Greystar took over our building in June and we are facing a lot of issues since then, in particular regarding new managment and positioning of our building - Parkside at Elephant & Castle. I encourage everyone to do their research, compare amenities and price in the area. Amenity package is not comparable to other buildings. All seating amenities are in one modest room which is shared with the leasing office and we often see them doing work and they leave their office doors open so all conversations and noise is in the area. Lounge is essentially a lobby repurposed with small areas that were given names. New management has covered whole amenity with opaque advertising blocking our lights fully, including the gym - over 90% of area is covered, without notifying residents. Building doesn't have conciegre, cinema room, dining room or anything of that sort but it is the same price as other buildings that do. We don't know who the staff is as we don't have anyone dedicated that was introduced to us, and everyone from before like Colin are gone. Asking prices have gone up from when Lendlease was in charge from 3100 in May/June to 3400 without material change to flats the moment they took over, so in less than 2 months a 9.5% increase. They are at this moment highest prices comparing to other buildings in this development that have better amenities (I've been tracking). Since takeover Parkside is advertised on Rightmove using advertising images of other properties and amenities we do not have. I find it all very confusing as a current tenant that planned to stay here for a long time. Our apartment has noise issues and we can hear neighbours walking above us. There is also noise from below that radiates in 'pipes' on certain days that we can hear but we were ok dealing with that under condition that we can have stable living post RRA without this type of corporate abuse. We were trapped in a lift for 90 minutes and nobody was informed about that despite maintenance coming to fix the lift and security guard finding us. Not sure how it never reached management, but it sets a tone about what you can expect as a tenant here. When we informed them of how we didn't even get a follow up they found a way to blame us for not informing them first and that they don't have any record of it. When we complained within their official process the answers we received were incorrect, incomplete and showed clear indication that they have no idea what building they bought and what it actually has. They are absolutely unprepared, uninformed and I am completely dishartened by this. At over 3000 pounds per month for an unfurnished 2br with barely any amenities, you would expect exceptional service, instead it's been a nightmare since they took over and I've had to spend days gathering evidence to correct their shady practices going to council, ASA and other bodies as well as their biased complaits process. I am so sad and upset as I planned to be in this flat for at least 3 years and would have never moved here if I knew it would be taken over by Greystar.

If I could give Greystar zero stars

If I could give Greystar zero stars, I would. This has been, by far, the worst experience I have ever had with any property management company. After we vacated our apartment, we complied with every requirement of our lease and expected our security deposit to be handled in accordance with North Carolina law. Instead, Greystar failed to return it within the required timeframe. It ultimately took 54 days after we vacated for this matter to be resolved. During that time, we sent countless emails, made repeated phone calls, and spent hours following up. What should have been a simple process turned into what felt like an unpaid part-time job. To make matters worse, the first check Greystar issued, already more than 10 days past North Carolina’s 30-day deadline, was deposited in good faith, only for our bank to notify us that payment had been stopped. Imagine believing a two-month ordeal is finally over, only to discover the payment you received is no longer valid. We were back to square one. We escalated the matter to property management, regional leadership, Greystar’s legal department, and even copied Greystar’s CEO on our correspondence. Despite involving the highest levels of the company, no one took ownership of the situation, no one resolved it promptly, and not a single person offered an apology for the inconvenience, stress, financial uncertainty, or countless hours this caused our family. When we asked why payment had been stopped, we received no meaningful explanation. In fact, no one even responded directly to the email asking why the original payment had been invalidated. There was no accountability and no acknowledgment of what had happened. We were left wondering why our security deposit was already 54 days overdue and why we had to spend weeks chasing money that should have been returned according to both our lease and North Carolina law. Eventually, another check for the exact same amount arrived via FedEx, as though the previous two months, the stopped-payment check, and everything we had endured had never happened. Again, there was no apology. No acknowledgment that the matter had been mishandled. No concern for the time, stress, and frustration their actions caused. Living at Sunstone Apartments was already a disappointing experience, but the way Greystar handled our move-out and security deposit was an even greater disappointment. It was an unfortunate way to close what had already been a difficult tenancy. Because Greystar failed to resolve this matter appropriately, we were forced to document every interaction and file complaints with the North Carolina Attorney General’s Office, the Better Business Bureau, and other agencies in an effort to hold the company accountable. No resident should have to devote this much time and effort simply to recover money that was legally owed to them. This experience was never just about the money. It was about accountability, professionalism, integrity, and treating residents with basic respect. In our experience, Greystar failed to meet those expectations. If you are considering renting from a Greystar-managed property, my advice is simple: proceed with extreme caution. Document absolutely everything. Keep copies of every email, text message, inspection report, receipt, and piece of correspondence. Know your rights under your state’s landlord-tenant laws, because if a dispute arises, thorough documentation may become your most important protection. Since sharing our experience, we have heard from other current and former residents who described similar frustrations with move-out and deposit issues. That made us realize we were not alone. Greystar is one of the largest property management companies in the country. Unfortunately, based on our experience, its size did not translate into accountability, professionalism, or respect for its residents. I sincerely hope no other family has to endure what ours did.

I applied for an apartment in Oklahoma Eagle Point

I applied for an apartment in Oklahoma managed by Greystar and paid the application fee (around $200, high for the area). During the screening process, I had a question and tried emailing the contact address listed in their own automated template ("contact us if you have any questions"). My emails bounced back or were blocked entirely. After being treated like this, unable to reach anyone despite following their own instructions, I no longer felt confident moving forward, so I disputed the original charge with my credit card company and was refunded. A few weeks later, I was billed an amount significantly higher than the original fee, with zero breakdown or explanation of what it covered. All communication from them was limited to generic, automated messages, never a real answer to a direct question. Their pricing is above market rate across the board, and they charge additional fees with no explanation when asked. I concluded this is not a place worth renting from. This isn't an isolated incident. Greystar reached a $24 million settlement with the FTC and the State of Colorado in December 2025 over concealing mandatory fees from renters, and has faced separate class-action lawsuits over fee practices in Washington and North Carolina. Keep a written record of every interaction if you're dealing with them.
