Living at Argo for the past 2 years has been a very mixed experience. It’s location and amenities are the main attraction. When we initially moved in wifi was included in rent but didn’t get set up properly for 2 months, there was a severe sewage odor that made me embarrassed to host for a long time, and the initial staff members weren’t that friendly. Things then improved, issues got resolved, friendly new staff members who are genuinely helpful, and create resident events joined and things were looking up. We renewed our contract. Shortly after the development experienced a power outage where residents and tenants of local businesses had to move out for >1 month (they covered most costs so we weren’t stranded) but it was a very stressful experience. We moved back in and have been suffering from a similar sewage odor that fills all apartments, as often as 3 times a day. It’s nauseating, after a bunch of us residents complained they are working on it. We also suffered from a wifi outage which wasn’t their fault, but added to the stress. Things also break easily in the apartment, my neighbors have complained about dining room chairs breaking, our sink fell out the counter once, and my bathroom shelf came of the wall. Just feeling exhausted.

I am a current resident at Argo Apartments. We moved in around the start of September 2022. The apartment and service of the staff has been very nice. However within a few months, we were forced to stay in a hotel for 3 weeks due to flooding issue. We understand that certain issue is out of Argo's control but we felt that the whole situation could've been dealt better with quicker decision making. Right now, us and many other tenants are facing with another issue... Everyday, the flat would smell like a rotten egg, which Argos claimed to be cause by a sewage smell and has admitted it as a health and safety issue. This issue has been raised numerous times however it has not been fixed (this has been going on for over a month). Even-though we do enjoy our flat, our experience has been disrupted by numerous issues that is not addressed with urgency.

Faulty fire alarms will go off randomly in the middle of the night and during the day in the middle of work meetings. Argo apartments will - first waste your time suggesting you change the batteries - after that doesn't work, they will slowly contact the fire alarm company which will take a couple of visits before they do anything, - after they think they fixed it, the faulty alarms will still go off in the middle of the night waking you up when you most need to sleep!

Raised rents in the pandemic despite not being able to provide any of the services advertised such as gym, concierge, parcel delivery, even the outside rooftop terrace was out of bounds despite being effectively a private garden! Added false deposit deductions at the end of tenancy and evidenced them using invoices that were in relation to a completely different apartment on a different floor, or didn’t even bother to back them up with valid photographic evidence. Luckily the Tenancy Deposit Scheme dealt with this case and gave us the money back and agreed with our argument and said as much in their written report of the case. Do not trust these people.

Argo Apartments is a great place to live. Location wise, plenty of grocery stores, green spaces, and very well connected to public transport. Amenities are great too: gym, parking, co-working spaces, lounge area, roof garden etc. My personal favourite is the bookable guest suite which is an affordable and comfortable alternative for residents’ guests to stay in, especially for guests travelling from afar and wish to be near the resident they are visiting. The building staff (especially Vaidas & Jack!) are lovely: always ready to help, planning social events so that residents can meet each other, organising all of our post… doing the most to make sure we’re all comfortable and taken care of :)

Very smart and professional building. The concierge / Resident services associate's Tim and Vaidas are both very helpful and willing to go above and beyond for the residents. The social spaces are all very well kitted out, and the roof terrace provides excellent views across London. Once Covid has left the building, it will be a fantastic area to socialise, but until then it is very covid safe!

Great place to live for a few years. Amazing service and well built new builds. The area is very up and coming and is safe. We lived at Argo for nearly 3 years with no problems. Resident services put on events frequently to encourage engagement, if any issues they sort them quickly. Much easier to deal with rather than agents or property management companies. Very professional. Some say it's noisy but I had minimal noise issues on the south-east facing apartment, and the sound proofing insulation is very good (never heard neighbours). You can't hear the planes for city airport, but you can hear a bit of the tube (not loud enough to bother), but that comes with living a 30 second walk from the station. If you're thinking of moving in, its a great option for easy, hassle free living.

It was a good time staying in Argo, sad I had to leave due to personal reasons. The flat was newly finished, fully furnished with new equipment, was very easy to keep it clean and nice. The building itself has very nice roof terrace which was really good to have during the lockdown, could enjoy the sun upstairs with a beautiful view to O2, royal docks and central london. The building also has reception with amenities like gym, communal working space, conference room, and rest-gaming area with huge tv, comfy sofa and lots of table games. Also, I would like to mention good service and nice concierge staff (Vaidas and Eva), they have been always very helpful and professional during my stay in Argo. With lockdown this year they have always stayed in touch, were responding quick and providing full support needed. There are lots of shops around, big Morrisons and Superdrug just around the corner and you can get in to Morrisons through underground car park which was good during winter or rainy days. Royal Victoria Docks, Excel, Emirates Cable Cars just on walking distance, lots of nice places to walk around or to run. Overall I had good experience staying here and would definitely recommend it.

Overall you get a lot for your money, considering the great connections to central London. The flats themselves are beautifully furnished, making everything a little bit easier when you're renting. The building also has great amenities such as a gym, dining room, communal working space and guest room. I would say it's important to note that Canning Town itself is very much 'under construction', and has been since I moved into the area about two years ago. They'll definitely building heavily for the next few years so something to bear in mind.
