We spent a year searching for the perfect house, and they were patient, supportive, and consistently professional from start to finish. GoogleAwful communication and poor knowledge of the property (to the point of almost hiding defects in the property) made our first time buying experience way more stressful than it should have been. Debbie showed little support throughout the 5 month long process, probably replied to 2 out of 50 emails we sent (we only sent that many due to not knowing what was going on with the house) and overall seemed to be annoyed that we wanted to purchase the property. When we threatened to pull out of the purchase, Debbie finally kicked into gear and communicated very efficiently. On completion of the purchase, you unceremoniously pick up the keys from the office, get given a bottle of wine (the only positive) and a quick congrats and that's it. No meeting at the property, no final walkthrough with a "here are your meters, here's your lights, the seller left lightbulbs for you here, etc" and no inspection of the property before handover. Ours was left in such a terrible state, I'd frankly be embarrassed to sell as is. It comes across as a complete lack of pride in the work and in the housing stock they're selling. For such a momentous occasion in someones life, the experience was marred by poor service and a lack of courtesy. We certainly won't be using Goodfellows when we do decide to sell the property.

What we would say is that your views are very much isolated compared the vast majority of reviews about the Stonecot Hill office and particularly Debbie. I know you were aware of the particular circumstances of the sellers which created a lot of the time delays and difficulty in communication and you did in fact negotiate a sizeable reduction on your purchase. It was a lengthy time to purchase, and we are sorry that it took so long. As an agent we are involved but not entirely responsible for how long a transaction takes or indeed how an owner might leave a property prior to the new owners moving in. We understand that you have already chosen not to use us in the future, however we will continue to service the local property market as we have successfully since 1990 and will take learnings from this to ensure we continue to improve. GoogleIf you’ve ever dreamed of buying your first home while being “assisted” by someone with the responsiveness of a brick and the enthusiasm of a damp sponge, Goodfellows Morden has you covered, starring Debbie, the undisputed queen of strategic unavailability. Calling her was like trying to contact a rare mythical creature: phones mysteriously diverted, no returned calls, and not even a token email to prove she hadn’t been abducted by aliens. We ended up chasing them for everything, including confirmation that our offer was accepted and that we’d completed. Iconic levels of uselessness, really. As first-time buyers pouring in our life savings, we foolishly expected updates, support, or signs of life. Her input was as helpful as a waterproof teabag. Furthermore, we couldn't help but get the feeling that all communication was being distorted to the seller, to suit their agenda. As well as a convenient blind eye and lack of transparency about a clear defect in the house loft area. If you’re looking for an agency that actually communicates or engages with the process, do yourself a favour and look elsewhere. They are ill equipped to sell pot plants, much less homes.

GoogleStefan and Maria were both more than helpful from start to finish. The sale was complicated with a lease extension, difficult buyer's solicitor and a client constantly turning the screw. (myself!) The Goodfellows team continued to push the process and challenge the buyers legal team with an unwavering persistence. Stefan was always on hand to answer a call or e-mail and added a level of comfort throughout the process that was very welcome! I would most certainly recommend using the Goodfellows to anyone that is looking to sell a property in the area.

GoogleOn the day we decided we would be looking into Estate Agents, I noted the boards on my journey to my mum's house. Goodfellows stood out, as did another and I popped in and spoke to Kerry and made a call to the other one. I feel business is very much about people. Kerry was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. She called to the house later and both my elderly mum and I felt she listened, she knew her stuff, she was encouraging and informative about Goodfellows procedure and the local market and more importantly the clients looking to buy. It was my mum's house to sell (moving to rented) and she spoke to HER. The guy from the other one, spent too long waffling, barely looked at my mum, was very negative about the fact the house deeds were still in joint names although my dad had passed away years ago, made it seem like a court case to sort it out. He poked at the boiler and knocked a cover off the bottom of it and left it lying on the shelf. Needless to say I messaged him to say thanks but decided to go elsewhere. Kerry arranged an open house for Saturday 14th December. She said her clients were looking despite Christmas coming up. We had about six appointments booked in and by Tuesday 17th had a buyer. The whole process completed on 28th March. The fees seem a lot to pay over after such a short process but honestly it was as painless as selling a property can be. Nobody works for free! The communication was good, the staff were great to deal with and the house sold quickly at the price Kerry had suggested we put it on for. And the fact that the deeds still had my dad's name on.... not a problem... in any way. Goodfellows were also recommended to me by a friend, who actually did have big hurdles to climb but she said Kerry and the staff were great to deal with through all of it. But if I'm honest with you I'd already decided. In the words of the film, I think Kerry had me at hello.

GoogleHad a very difficult attempt to sell the house with a different agent for multiple reasons - then we went to Kerry at Goodfellows who made the whole process a lot less stressful - she valued the property correctly thus allowing a larger footfall through the door of potential buyers and eventual sale. She then helped manage the communication between myself and the conveyancing team to help push things along - this was all at the end of a three year court battle with my ex-partner to get the house on the market in the first place! Her support through this very difficult time for me was appreciated and I would def recommed her and the team at Goodfellows for anyone who seriously wants to sell. Don't be sucked in by other agents false promises of a larger sale price - you will only end up having to reduce it, potentially more than once and endure a long winded process and likelyhood of few viewings and no buyer - Goodfellows know the market, know how to sell a property effectively and are honest from the off.
