Unfortunately, my experience with Goodfellows has been disappointing and has fallen well below the level of service I expected from a professional estate agency. Communication throughout the instruction has been poor. Appointments were missed and, on several occasions, cancelled at short notice, causing unnecessary inconvenience. There were also multiple occasions where information and emails that had been specifically requested were either delayed or never sent at all, despite repeated follow-ups. The quality of viewings was equally disappointing. A number of prospective viewers appeared to have little genuine interest or suitability for the property, leaving me with the impression that adequate buyer qualification and vetting had not taken place beforehand. In addition, the effort and enthusiasm demonstrated by the sales team during viewings felt lacklustre and did not inspire confidence that the property was being actively and professionally marketed. There were also basic administrative issues. The "For Sale" board was not installed until approximately two months after the property was listed, and despite requesting its removal over four weeks ago, it remained in place for an extended period. While I appreciate that property transactions can be challenging, I expected significantly better communication, organisation, and attention to detail. Regrettably, my experience has left me disappointed, and I cannot recommend the service based on the standards delivered in my case.

Awful communication and poor knowledge of the property (to the point of almost hiding defects in the property) made our first time buying experience way more stressful than it should have been. Debbie showed little support throughout the 5 month long process, probably replied to 2 out of 50 emails we sent (we only sent that many due to not knowing what was going on with the house) and overall seemed to be annoyed that we wanted to purchase the property. When we threatened to pull out of the purchase, Debbie finally kicked into gear and communicated very efficiently. On completion of the purchase, you unceremoniously pick up the keys from the office, get given a bottle of wine (the only positive) and a quick congrats and that's it. No meeting at the property, no final walkthrough with a "here are your meters, here's your lights, the seller left lightbulbs for you here, etc" and no inspection of the property before handover. Ours was left in such a terrible state, I'd frankly be embarrassed to sell as is. It comes across as a complete lack of pride in the work and in the housing stock they're selling. For such a momentous occasion in someones life, the experience was marred by poor service and a lack of courtesy. We certainly won't be using Goodfellows when we do decide to sell the property.

We truly cannot recommend a better agent or experience than the team at Goodfellows, Stonecot Hill. We purchased our first home through them back in 2020, and I still remember our very first encounter with Martin... calm, reassuring, flexible, and genuinely willing to help. That impression stuck with us ever since, and it perfectly sums up the ethos of the whole team and why we chose them again. What really sets them apart is how personal they are. Kerry even pinned my daughter’s drawing on her desk wall (such a small gesture, but one that meant so much). We bought our first house together many years ago and Goodfellows were fantastic to deal with then, with Martin (now Director) helping us through brilliantly. Fast forward 34 years and Goodfellows handled our house sale, prior to our move to Ireland. Martin, Debbie, Kerry & co were fantastic to deal with, made things very easy and in the end obtained a sale price for us that we didn't think we'd get near. Great people to deal with, great service, great knowledge of the area and we were treated as friends rather than clients. On the day we decided we would be looking into Estate Agents, I noted the boards on my journey to my mum's house. Goodfellows stood out, as did another and I popped in and spoke to Kerry and made a call to the other one. I feel business is very much about people. Kerry was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. She called to the house later and both my elderly mum and I felt she listened, she knew her stuff, she was encouraging and informative about Goodfellows procedure and the local market and more importantly the clients looking to buy. It was my mum's house to sell (moving to rented) and she spoke to HER. The guy from the other one, spent too long waffling, barely looked at my mum, was very negative about the fact the house deeds were still in joint names although my dad had passed away years ago, made it seem like a court case to sort it out. He poked at the boiler and knocked a cover off the bottom of it and left it lying on the shelf. Needless to say I messaged him to say thanks but decided to go elsewhere. Kerry arranged an open house for Saturday 14th December. She said her clients were looking despite Christmas coming up. We had about six appointments booked in and by Tuesday 17th had a buyer. The whole process completed on 28th March. The fees seem a lot to pay over after such a short process but honestly it was as painless as selling a property can be. Nobody works for free! The communication was good, the staff were great to deal with and the house sold quickly at the price Kerry had suggested we put it on for. And the fact that the deeds still had my dad's name on.... not a problem... in any way. Goodfellows were also recommended to me by a friend, who actually did have big hurdles to climb but she said Kerry and the staff were great to deal with through all of it. But if I'm honest with you I'd already decided. In the words of the film, I think Kerry had me at hello.

Had a very difficult attempt to sell the house with a different agent for multiple reasons - then we went to Kerry at Goodfellows who made the whole process a lot less stressful - she valued the property correctly thus allowing a larger footfall through the door of potential buyers and eventual sale. She then helped manage the communication between myself and the conveyancing team to help push things along - this was all at the end of a three year court battle with my ex-partner to get the house on the market in the first place! Her support through this very difficult time for me was appreciated and I would def recommed her and the team at Goodfellows for anyone who seriously wants to sell. Don't be sucked in by other agents false promises of a larger sale price - you will only end up having to reduce it, potentially more than once and endure a long winded process and likelyhood of few viewings and no buyer - Goodfellows know the market, know how to sell a property effectively and are honest from the off.

From the moment that I met Sam Bedford, right up until the completion date, she worked tirelessly to sell my home. Her valuation was was £130K more than that of another estate agent, and she managed to sell the house for a price way beyond anything I could have hoped for. There were many challenges along the way for Sam and her team, but they all remained positive, determined, patient and professional at all times. I was kept up to date at every point along the way, and the team were always available to answer any questions that I had. Selling a house can be very stressful, and the Goodfellows team were full of encouragement. They really know their stuff, and gave me loads of really helpful advice along the way. They are such a dedicated, hardworking team. They kept any stress for me to an absolute minimum, and just took care of everything for me. What really stood out to me, was Sam's sincerity and honesty. I felt instinctively that I could trust her completely, and that she had my best interests at heart, and her actions have proved my instincts correct. I had to experience this for myself, or else I would never have believed that such outstanding service was possible. I cannot imagine ever using an estate agent other than Sam in the future. I cannot recommend her services highly enough.
