HOUSE FLOODED

After 11 months of living in a home you dont expect it to flood. On the 23rd of April the downstairs of our home flooded in the middle of the night, about 2-3 inches of water covered the whole of the downstairs floor. This came from the pipe under the kitchen sink (under the stoptap), which meant mains water flow was gushing from the cupboard. Gleeson took no liability for this and left it up to us and the plumbers insurance to sort. We wasn’t offered any alternative accommodation as they saw our house as ‘liveable’. It got to the point where we had no other option than to get a solicitor involved to even get any help from Gleeson. In fact.. they wanted to clean our carpets (which we had already vacced 175 litre of water from) so that we could save the carpets 😡 The solicitor told me we was well within our rights to take this further as Gleeson should be responsible for their subcontractors actions. This been said, they then agreed to bring a company in to replace the skirting boards, door frames and doors - which they have done. We are still no further with the insurance company, and have ended up paying for the remaining repairs and furnishings ourself. Its so expensive to furnish a house in the first place - nevermind doing it all again 11 months later. All in all.. Gleesons after care is completely disgusting and you cant rely on them for anything. Not even an apology. Moral of the story.. always know where your outside stop tap is, because if we didnt it could have been a whole other story. Disgusting.

Think before you sign up for anything- read all reviews first, they are true!

Would not recommend a Gleeson home to anyone. We have issues from Oct 2020 that still have not been either addressed or resolved. The sales process service is second to none but once they get your money, aftercare service does not exist. The quality of the fixtures and fittings are cheap and we have had to already replace things less than 2 years later.

To the Back bone Mouricia, the Smart Louise and the master of all buildings Mo. Very positive experience. If it was not for Mouricia We wouldn’t have owned Liffey today at Northside. We waited for the site for a whole year and witnessed Gleeson put up the first stone. As always we are still excited for our new house. Mouricia and Louise responded back to my queries promptly helping in smooth operations. Mo is a great guy and deserves alot for his understanding and hard work. Louise is great situational handler. James the CEO of Gleeson is a down to earth and decent guy. Mouricia deserves a place in top benches of Gleeson as she posses great team leading skills. Not even a 1 star experience!!! if I could!!!

I have had a terrible buying experience from Gleeson homes after the sales agents I was dealing with telling me lies to get me to sign on the dotted line. I think it important to give people a chance to put things right before giving them a pasting on a site such as this, so lets see if Gleeson homes decide to do the honourable thing and contact me to sort out their mess caused by them taking their own sweet time to sort a major problem with their attempt to sell me a house. Check back in a few days to see if Gleeson decide they want to help me or just decide not to do anything. I'm encouraged to write a review based on the fact that over 90% of people will read review sites before they decide whether to buy or not, and lets face it, only 1 person has to decide NOT to buy based on my review, and they would be out of pocket quite substantially, which I am NOW, thanks to their deciding to take their own sweet time to deal with my house purchase which was all supposed to happen within about 1 month... I will reveal what exactly they have lied about to me if they decide not to help me. I can also prove all of the allegations I am so unhappy about with FACTS NOT HEARSAY, AND WITNESSES..

Bought a Fergus at park Avenue

Bought a Fergus at park Avenue what fantastic service we have received from the sales staff Tammy head office staff and of course the builders and the site manager. I think people need realise its a man made product and there are going to be problems but most of them are being sorted now. We have really enjoyed the whole experience and are very happy with our Gleeson home. Gleeson should be very proud of the staff that work or support the park Avenue Development as the sales manager and Beth and Tammy was helping with the cleaning to get a house ready for a customer was lovely to see the support they give. Also the site manager is very approachable and helpful.

If only you could turn back time

The process picking Plot and house was very nice sales lady nice and very helpful loved picking carpets extras always kept up to date then day of exchange came our money went to gleeson homes all down hill from there we still waiting for things to be fixed lads on site are brilliant but put under far to much pressure and are giving the cheapest crappest materials to "fix" your dream home! Once your money has gone to them you are forgotten about the amount of people unhappy is unreal we felt like it was just us but then you get to know people it's really sad they just don't care! If we knew it be like this we would never of got the house!

Great customer experience

Great customer experience, Alicia from Sales is very helpful, cooperative and very responsive. The house I bought is at affordable price, good location and we are being contacted regularly about the progression of the construction. I've been informed by a friend who previously bought a house from Gleeson and they have come access some minor defects after moving in, defects are always found in all new houses no matter the builder, but Gleeson dealt with all issues professionally and won't close a case until you're satisfied. I personally recommend Gleeson Homes

From first contacting Gleeson regarding the purchase of a two bedroom Cork house at Erin Court in Chesterfield. The service I have received from Philip Graham the Sales Executive has been outstanding. Philip had kept me upto date with the progress of the building of my house. Calls made to the office if unanswered were returned promptly. I would not hesitate to purchase another Gleeson home.

I have owned a gleeson home for 3 years…

I have owned a gleeson home for 3 years now (2 bed Kerry) the actual house i am happy with. However the aftercare is terrible, 2.5 years to fix a defect reported on the day of purchase, false promises like will be there dot on 8am (no show) i think if they fix the aftercare they will have a good business model, however as it stands if someone asked me would i buy another gleeson home it would be unfortunately not due to the after care.

It’s crazy that Gleeson homes has taken…

It’s crazy that Gleeson homes has taken 6months to fix my garden. They have recently started work however they ripped the fence out my garden three weeks ago and it’s been left like this. No one knows when this work will be done or completed my driveway still hasn’t been fully finished it’s appalling. Gleeson homes need to sort out my garden, driveway and the smelly drainage. Have not really enjoyed my new home since moving in. No one really cares once you get the keys. It’s promises after promises. I’m absolutely sick of it. My garden is not level. The fence is of poor quality with massive gaps and no privacy. Sort this out!!

Gleeson Kilkenny 2022 - bought through Forces Property Direct

We reserved our Gleeson Kilkenny in February 2022 with the help of Forces Property Direct. From the moment we reserved our plot, Adam (Sales) kept us fully informed of the progress with our build, helped us pick our options and answered any questions we needed advice on. We completed in May 2022 instead of June so we were pleasantly surprised to be moving into our new home earlier than planned. We picked up a couple of small things on home demo day which were sorted before we moved in. This really set the precedent for things moving forward and Simon (Site Manager) has been extremely helpful throughout the whole moving-in process. Any issues we've had, he's rectified straight away, nothing is too much trouble for him. We are now almost a month after moving in and are very happy in our new home at the Sutton Heights development, a huge thanks to Adam, Simon and Dan, they are a credit to Gleeson Homes. *An added note, all of the issues we've experienced have been minor and just small things you might expect with a new build home.
