Non existent customer service

Me and my partner saw one of their properties on Rightmove with a rent to buy scheme, straight away we rang to hopefully get a viewing. We got one after 4 days of ringing for the following Saturday, to which they rang on Thursday evening to tell us Friday was a better day so we booked the day off just to not hear anything from them at all. We finally got a hold of them for them to tell us we will 100% get to view it at 2:30 on the Monday but we had the school run so would’ve had to sort child care so they told us they will ring us for 10am with a new time. We never got a phone call and continuously tried to call them to no avail, after several attempts I tried ringing on another number which they answered straight away on. We did in fact get to view the property after sorting childcare but only because someone else cancelled, the viewing was just us being shown where the house is by a builder and then being left to look round by ourselves with nobody there to ask questions. After all this we were still extremely interested in the house but never received a phone call or follow up… we then straight after viewing it saw that it had been taken off rightmove yet we were not notified till 3 days after we viewed it that it had been sold. Disappointed is an understatement wouldn’t recommend bothering.

I recently reserved a plot at Birley Croft with Gleeson Homes, and I would like to share my experience so far. Throughout the process, I have had the pleasure of dealing with Raul Garcia, who has represented Gleeson Homes at the Birley Croft development. From the very beginning, Raul has been extremely helpful, professional and approachable. He has always been available whenever I have had questions or needed any further information, which has made the whole process much easier and more reassuring. Raul has always been at the end of the telephone and has responded promptly to my emails and messages. He has been very patient with me, even when I have had lots of questions, and has always taken the time to explain things clearly and provide helpful guidance and advice. I have felt well supported throughout the reservation process, and Raul's professionalism, patience and friendly approach have made my experience with Gleeson Homes a very positive one. I would happily give Raul and Gleeson Homes five stars for the service I have received so far. Thank you, Raul, for all your help, support and guidance throughout the process. Great Show houses experience!

I’m a first time home buyer who felt quite nervous/ awkward going to visit show homes however I had a fantastic time look around the gleeson homes All Saints site in Ferryhill, County Durham. The show houses were a good size and beautifully decorated for all the houses we viewed. The sales executive Adrian was super friendly, charismatic and incredibly informative in explaining how buying a property with Gleeson Homes works and the different home styles available at the site and others. Adrian made me and my mother who was with me feel really relaxed and was very helpful at explaining the standard house features and the optional extras that could be added for better design/ functionality without being too pushy about anything. The amazing customer service and general affordability of the homes has led me to definitely consider buying from Gleeson Homes in the future!

Please do not purchase a Gleesons home

Gleeson Homes Review ⭐ If I could give zero stars, I would. If you’re considering buying a Gleeson home, here’s my advice: Do not rush to review them after dealing with the sales team. Wait until you’ve actually lived in the house. Because the sales experience and the experience of owning the house can be two completely different things. When you’re buying a new build, you naturally focus on the excitement. You’re told about your lovely new home, the quality, the security, the finish and all the things that make you feel confident you’re making the right decision. Then you get the keys. And you start looking properly. Our snagging list was 56 pages long. Not 56 individual tiny cosmetic niggles. 56 pages of things requiring attention. The problems have ranged from terrible plastering and poor finishing, holes in brand-new carpets, poor brickwork, external wall and fencing issues, damage and mess caused during remedial works, and countless other defects that simply shouldn’t be acceptable in a brand-new property. You start wondering how some of it ever passed inspection in the first place. And then comes the next battle: getting it fixed. We’ve had constant promises that things would be dealt with. “We’ll get someone out.” “We’ll look into it.” “Someone will contact you.” “It’s been passed on.” Except those promises don’t always translate into action. And just when you finally get somewhere with someone, they leave. Then you’re back to square one, explaining everything again, chasing again and trying to establish what you were previously promised. It is exhausting. And the remedial work itself hasn’t always filled us with confidence. There is a huge difference between genuinely putting something right and carrying out a quick repair that technically allows someone to say the issue has been “resolved”. A brand-new home should not require this level of intervention. I am not expecting perfection. I understand that new builds have snagging issues. What I do expect is a reasonable standard of workmanship. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect: • Plastering to be properly finished • Brickwork to be properly constructed and finished • Brand-new carpets not to have holes in them • Fencing and walls to be properly installed • Damage caused during remedial works to be properly dealt with • Problems to be fixed properly rather than repeatedly patched • Promises to actually be followed through • Consistent communication • And someone to actually take ownership of the problems There has also been the ongoing issue with the security gate, which was a paid upgrade and particularly important to me as a mum. We moved in without it and have subsequently had ongoing issues with the gate, wall and surrounding fencing. Knowing that a neighbouring property received a gate free of charge has only added to the frustration. But the gate isn’t the reason for this review. It’s the bigger picture. It’s buying a supposedly brand-new home and feeling like you’ve spent months fighting to get it brought up to the standard it should have been at handover. It’s the quality of the workmanship. It’s the sheer volume of snagging. It’s the poor finishing. It’s finding holes in new carpets and looking at brickwork that leaves you wondering who signed it off. It’s the endless promises. It’s the chasing. It’s staff leaving and having to start the whole conversation again. And ultimately, it’s the feeling that once the sales process is over and the keys are handed over, you have to fight to get the level of service and workmanship you should have received in the first place. So please, if you’re considering Gleeson: Don’t just read the reviews people leave after the sales experience. Wait until they’ve lived there. Wait until they’ve had their snagging inspection. Wait until they’ve tried to get the problems fixed. Because that’s when you find out what buying the house is actually like. I wish we’d known then what we know now.

Stella was so efficient. She explained everything about Gleesons so thoroughly. She was so impressive. She showed us over houses and gave us options of which house we liked. Bought our new home at Ousterley Woods Stanley Peter was fabulous from the start giving great advise and helping us through the process as it was very stressful for us as we relocated from the York area and jobs moved faster than expected . My partner and I have recently reserved our new home with Gleesons, and we honestly couldn’t be happier with the experience so far, largely thanks to Adrian and Tom. Title: Serious Concerns About Senior Management at Gleeson Homes North West There are serious questions to be asked about the management culture at Gleeson Homes in the North West, particularly regarding senior leadership and the standards expected of those in positions of authority. Good leadership should be built on professionalism, respect and accountability. Employees deserve to be treated fairly, their time should be respected and senior managers should lead by example. A senior job title should never mean someone is beyond criticism or accountability. There are also serious concerns surrounding allegations of inappropriate communications involving a 16-year-old. Any such allegations should be handled responsibly and investigated through the appropriate channels. Ultimately, a company’s reputation depends on more than its public image. I had many problems at my new house…

Gleeson Stoneyford green plot 179 I’ve faced several issues in my new house, most of which have been addressed to some extent. However, this particular complaint has pushed me beyond my patience. It has been logged for two weeks, yet no one has contacted me. The kitchen cupboard door has completely detached from its place. When this issue first occurred, I asked for a permanent fix, but the team only screwed it back in. After multiple repeats of the same problem, the door has now fully broken and displaced. I have more concerns about this new home that I will raise one by one, but for now I will wait for their response to this matter.
