I used Davies & Davies to rent a house in Hilperton, Trowbridge. They were very professional and were exceptionally good when it came to responding to any queries about the property/referencing etc - and always most courteous. The only negative as far as I am concerned was that they were not present to 'hand over' the property at commencement of the Tenancy (like keys, boiler controls etc) - but perhaps that should have been the landlords function.

Went through Davies & Davies for mine and my girlfriends first letting together. Sian handled our letting agreement and couldn’t of been more helpful. Emails were communicated out quickly and responded too in the same way, staff at the Davies & Davies in Trowbridge office were happy to chat and helpful also in getting documents scanned for us quickly to push everything through. What a fantastic first time buying experience with Stephen at Davies & Davies Trowbridge. He was such a huge help from the start and was so lovely right up until the very end when I would call him every day chasing an update (through no fault of his/their own). When we went to pick up the keys, we felt so welcomed and as if he was as excited for us to get them as we were! A lovely touch to give us a little gift bag full of goodies to start off in our new home with (even though the Lindt Chocolates didn't last the 5 minute drive down the road). We cannot thank you enough and would recommend to anyone selling or buying in the Trowbridge area!

We had a few agents come out to us to do a valuation, Davies & Davies were by far the most professional and came prepared with knowledge and facts of our house. Nick gave us the information we needed to get started, he was patient with us as we hadn't sold a house before so had plenty of questions. Steve navigated us through the sale who was excellent, always returned my emails and phone calls. Did all the chasing up (Solicitors were rubbish). Steve let me know straight away once there was news. I highly recommend Davies & Davies they couldn't do enough for us and ensured everything ran smoothly with the sale.

So I wanted to rent a flat, the flat was lovely and perfect. However very dissapointed that I never got the flat because I couldn’t provide my tax return due to COVID. Bearing in mind I payed for the holding deposit of £130. Then they asked me if I could pay 6months upfront deposit every six months which I just thought was so disrespectful just because I haven’t been self employed for more than a year, not forgetting that we were on lockdown a whole year so I couldn’t set up my business! Sent proof of earnings and income also. Never got my money back, disgusted with the service in entirety. Won’t ever be considering using them againNegativeQuality

Beware : As sellers we had high hopes from the Trowbridge branch but we had a very poor experience and felt badly let down by them on the sale of our property. Our sale fell through right on exchange. We’d been wary of the prospective buyers from day one but had been given reassurances by Davies and Davies and we put our trust in the agent. How wrong we were to do this. They failed to keep on top of the transaction and in the end we ended up hundreds of pounds out of pocket in legal fees. When they began remarketing our property they started arguing with us and viewers alike over their commission even before any offers had been made as we had a second agent. Viewers then started making us aware about how unhelpful and indeed rude they had been which sealed their fate. Luckily, we ended up selling through the other agent. As a prospective buyer they also promised to keep me updated on properties coming to the market but again they haven’t done this. So my advice is avoid them. We had negotiators from three local estate agents visit to give us a valuation and quote. On the whole they were knowledgeable, friendly, and their quotes all around the same figure. However, as soon as Nick from Davies & Davies visited, we knew we wanted him to present our house to the people of Wiltshire! He had a real passion for job, and an enthusiasm that was infectious! He seemed to have a real knowledge of the exact area the house was in - as if he had been living in our house for years without us knowing! Nick did a fantastic job with the photos, and his video was a great bonus. Without a doubt, Nick was the reason we went with Davies & Davies. We had received an accepted an offer within about 4 days of the house going up for sale and communication during this time was pretty good, keeping us updated of viewings etc. However, once we had accepted the offer, there was a lack of communication and having not heard anything for 6 weeks I had to chase for an update. I have no idea if this is me being impatient, or just poor communication from the agency. Once I chased I then received an update and also advised that we were now under the wing of Louise. Louise was a Godsend! When we hit issues down the chain, she would endlessly chase up and down the chain for me, patiently replying to all of my emails, all whilst maintaining her friendly, professional demeanour. I cannot thank Louise enough for her help, and even replying to a couple of my emails when she was on a day off. Thank you Louise, you are the star of D&D Trowbridge!PositiveProfessionalism
