On both occasions the team have worked tirelessly to ensure the processes were as smooth as possible (even if selling was a little spiky!). With an honest approach to the market and valuations, a keen desire to sell the property, a constant open line of communication and being 'happy' to be a listening ear when the stresses of moving become all a little too much, sorry guys! GoogleI have just sold my flat and used Church and Hawes estate agents in Maldon. Neil handled the sale. He was extremely professional and approachable. He was pro-active in that he regularly contacted the buyer and buyer's solicitors to find out how things were progressing and relayed that information to me. If I had a query it was answered immediately. He took away a lot of the stress that can be associated with buying or selling property. I have bought and sold a number of properties over the years and can honestly say that, due to Neil's expertise, this experience has been the most stress free and professional I have encountered.

This is a review for the South Woodham Ferrers branch Two Months Lost Due to Poor Sales Progression and Communication I accepted an offer on my vacant, chain-free property on 19 May after agreeing to a lower price because I was assured it would be a quick sale. Nearly two months later, I discovered that the buyer had not even paid the monies requested by her solicitor to begin the conveyancing process. I was not informed of this by the estate agent. In fact, I only found out when I visited the branch in person. The branch manager told me that he had only become aware of the issue the previous week. In my opinion, this makes the situation worse, as it suggests that little or no effective sales progression was taking place during the two months following acceptance of the offer. Had I been kept properly informed, I would have put the property back on the market much sooner and avoided losing valuable marketing time. I was also disappointed by the way the property was remarketed. The original marketing date remained unchanged, making it appear that the property had been sitting on the market for a considerable period, and my request to add wording explaining that it was unexpectedly back on the market was not actioned promptly. Whilst the commission rate was competitive, good communication and proactive sales progression are far more important. Unfortunately, my experience fell well below the standard of service I expected. As a result, I have lost almost two months on what should have been a straightforward sale of a vacant property.

Particularly Andy Weller, but also the other members of the team, worked tirelessly to sell the property and then to maintain contact with the other agents and solicitors in the chain to achieve the earliest possible exchange and completion. Throughout the process (which involved many hiccups on the way) Church and Hawes maintained regular contact with us updating us at least weekly or when any significant progress was made and provided good advice to us at every stage.
