I cannot praise this company enough. Edward has helped me quickly and selflessly with a tenancy issue. He has been professional, efficient and compassionate. I would not hesitate to use this firm in the future.

Took 1 week of phone calls, emails to convince I could afford the rental. Finally got a viewing for 10am. Phone call from Grace at 9:30am saying sorry could we postpone to 10:30am as dont have the keys. But I drove past ar 9:45 and saw the estate agents opening the gates. 10am another phone call, this time from the office and Sophia saying sorry need to postpone indefinateltly due to unforeseen circumstances. Next day the property marked as Let agreed. No phone call, nothing. Disgusting, appauling way to treat people, dishonest. Would not recommend Daventry office!!!!!

My experience during the 6-Week hunt for a suitable, and within budget property, as long term rental around Warwickshire and into Gloucestershire. Was initially being let down after positive viewings, mainly by a lack of communication. From the start to completion of this Chelton Brown Ltd listed property, the service overall was absolutely great. Can not fault the super friendly and professional staff, who provided a top class service. After nearly a month at this property it's lovely, and as advertised and advised. So just like to say a big thank you to all the staff for you excellent service throughout this process. Especially have to mention Sophia and Grace who I mainly dealt with. They were both extremely helpful, and full of clear facts and advice, with great communication. Both really are a big credit to the business, so again thank you both, really was very much appreciated. Paul M

Extremely disappointing experience with Chelton Brown Our experience with Chelton Brown was extremely disappointing and turned what should have been an exciting experience as first-time buyers into an unnecessarily stressful and frustrating one. We were interested in a property listed at £300,000, a price we felt was significantly above its realistic market value from the outset. We made this clear from our first interaction. After viewing the property, we identified a number of noticeable issues, including plastering, chimney repointing, brickwork and fencing which we believed were reasonable factors to take into account when negotiating. We made three separate offers, and on each occasion we demonstrated a willingness to compromise on the issues we had raised. Our final offer was £283,000, which we explicitly stated was our final position. We also made it clear that if we received no response within a week, we would withdraw our interest. What happened next was, in our opinion, completely unacceptable. We received no response whatsoever, not even an acknowledgment of our email. As first-time buyers, we were left chasing the estate agent simply to find out whether our offer had actually been presented to the vendor. At that point, the entire experience became incredibly frustrating. We had repeatedly explained our position, made multiple compromises and put forward what we believed was a fair and generous offer, yet we were left with no communication and no idea where our offer actually stood. We also questioned the original valuation of the property. The house next door was being marketed for approximately £40,000 less, despite being of a comparable size. We explained throughout our negotiations that, in our view, the property was worth around £285,000, £290,000 at most, and that would have been with the outstanding issues addressed. The vendor was unwilling to rectify those issues, yet the asking price remained completely out of step with comparable properties in the area. Fast forward to now, and the market appears to have demonstrated exactly what we were saying. The property is still on the market, now reduced to £290,000 after failing to sell at £300,000. In the meantime, two comparable properties on the same road have sold for approximately £40,000 and £20,000 less respectively. One of those properties required work, but certainly not anything remotely close to the £40,000 difference in asking price. This experience left us with serious concerns about how the property was initially valued and, more importantly, how our offers and communications were handled. The lack of communication, organisation and accountability was extremely poor. We shouldn’t have had to repeatedly chase an estate agent to establish whether a serious offer had even been put forward to the vendor. As first-time buyers, we expected guidance, transparency and professional communication. Instead, we experienced a process that felt clunky, disorganised, slow and unnecessarily difficult. The most frustrating part is that this was supposed to be an exciting milestone for us. Instead, the experience became so unpleasant that it completely tarnished our view of the property and the buying process. If you are considering dealing with Chelton Brown, I would strongly recommend keeping a close eye on your offers and following up in writing. Based on our experience, don’t assume that no response means your offer has been properly dealt with you may find yourself chasing for answers that should have been provided to you in the first place. For us, the experience was a serious let-down and one we certainly would not want to repeat.

From start to finish I have had a really good experience setting up a rental agreement and moving in with Chelton Brown. I have found renting from company's in the past to be painfully long and communication poor. I will be sure to stick with Chelton Brown where possible whilst renting and in the future I would certainly consider buying my first home through them.

I've dealt with estate agents before, but this company was an absolute joke. They were completely unwilling to do their jobs and made little to no effort to follow up with or chase the landlord for answers to basic questions. They seemed to have very limited information about the property and constantly told us to call the office, only for the office to have no additional information either. The overall service was extremely unprofessional. One of the final frustrations was their refusal to release the keys without a face-to-face ID check, despite already having taken and verified our ID at the start of the process. Whenever shortcomings in their service were raised, they hid behind the "new renters' rights" legislation, even when it was completely unrelated to the issue being discussed. It felt more like an excuse than a genuine explanation. In summary, I found them lazy, unprofessional, and uncooperative. I would not recommend them based on my experience.

Fantastic job by all on my house sale Rachel Johnson was fantastic through out the while experience: was on top of every issue, left no stone unturned, ensuring that I was kept up to date every step of the way I could not have asked for a better colleague to support on this journey Rachel sets a very high bar which other estate agents fall very short of! Well done Rachel - really appreciate all you did Amazing job

The whole letting experience with Chelton Brown was really smooth and clear since the beginning. We have been updated so thoroughly at each step, to make sure we have the house secured and we are now in a beautiful and cosy house we wanted. Thank you Chelton Brown Northampton, and a special thanks to Millie W., our lettings negotiator.

every time i’ve had dealings with chelton brown, the people have been absolutely lovely but the timing that this company (or perhaps just this office) works on is ridiculous. myself and my partner have attempted to get in contact to try and rent a property with them twice now, and have reached out to them within hours of the property being listed. both times i have had no response from them for days and after reaching out to them to follow up i’ve been told it’s either already let or they are not accepting anymore bookings to view the property. of course, i could understand this if i initially contacted them after a property had been on the market a while but for me to reach out within HOURS of the listing, receive nothing back from them and then be told “we’re sorry we’re not accepting anybody else at the moment” i find it quite frankly ridiculous. again the staff have all been perfectly pleasant when i have spoken to them but its incredibly disheartening to be on it as soon as a listing appears only to not have the opportunity to decide if we even want it or not, simply due to the office neglecting to respond. i understand they’re busy but it’s so frustrating to be rejected unreasonably.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review and for your kind comments about our team, that is genuinely appreciated. We’re very sorry for the frustration you’ve experienced. The rental market in Daventry is currently extremely competitive, with quality homes in very short supply. In many cases, properties can receive well over 100 enquiries within a very short space of time, often within hours of going live. Unfortunately, this can mean viewings are filled very quickly and we are not always able to respond to everyone as promptly as we would like before a property is fully booked or agreed. That said, we completely understand how disheartening it can feel, particularly when you have acted quickly, and we sincerely apologise that your experience felt disappointing. I can see that you’ve now completed one of our pre‑qualification forms, which puts you in the strongest possible position moving forward should a suitable property become available. Please be assured we are doing our very best to manage enquiry levels fairly and to respond to everyone as quickly as possible during an exceptionally busy period. Thank you again for your feedback, it is taken seriously and helps us continue to improve. Kind regards, Edward
