I bought a Southwald home from Bovis Home Edwalton

I bought a Southwald home from Bovis Homes Edwalton in August 2020. Within the past 6 months I have had to pay out for repair a roof leak caused by the lead flashing over the en suite bathroom which had no cement fill on the brickwork and needed sealing, and now poor installation of electrical cables, probably loose, in the power box in the kitchen. Its a nice looking house but the workmanship leaves a lot to be desired.

‼️AVOID‼️ If you want to see what Bovis…

‼️AVOID‼️ If you want to see what Bovis Homes have messed up, check out the New Stanton Cross development, shocking. Including that huge over the ground poo pipe running infront of residents front windows/doors, poo πŸ’© coming up through sinks etc.A million other problems 2, did you know they even evicted an old couple who had a farm on the land & let some other farmers stay.Built on land that can flood etc. Now they chopping down historical trees for a roundabout. It's absolutely bonkers. If you don't believe me just check out Purple Vision on you tube his videos tell you everything ! Good Luck to anyone who buys from them, a lucky escape for me & family.

It's a building site with some completed houses. Muddy road at present. Supposed to be finished by Christmas!

This has been a complete disappointment and frustration. The construction quality is poor, the houses have a lot of snagging issues, customer service is even worse, the problems are left unattended, unsolved, they are using the main residential premises as construction access roads for other plots, putting everyone's health and safety at risk, especially children who play outside, even in school breaks and etc. It is dirty, muddy and heavy equipment, excavators, trucks vibrate all the newly built houses, damaging the ones they have just sold. They are all cracked inside. Do not come here and buy a property, unless you want to be emotional and psychologically disrupted, have your children at risk and enjoy dealing with poor quality and reckless customer service and contractor. See the photos by yourself.

Appalling workmanship

We purchased our home in July 2020. In January 2023 we discovered the carpet in my sons wardrobe was sogging wet, and there was mould up the wall - we discovered that the shower had been leaking from the master bed ensuite adjacent to his room.We had the insurance company out who said this was not covered due our policy not covering the poor workmanship by Bovis Homes and this has probably been a slow leak since the house was brought! The building surveyor has said the original fitting was absolutely appalling. We are 6 months out of warranty so Bovis will do absolutely nothing even though it is clear it has been ongoing since before the warranty expired. We are now left with Β£5000 of damage and are seeking legal advice.

BEWARE!

BEWARE!! Massively overpriced and poor quality housing and really really poor service after purchase. You'll notice that the developers periodically put the prices up of the whole development, therefore artificially inflating housepricing overall. Advice for future buys:- Go way below the asking price. I got mine for Β£30k under the asking price (Β£360k instead of Β£390k) and to be honest I should have gone lower another Β£20k lower.- Don't listen to the nonsense and heartless pressure the sales team put you under. They are working to get their bonuses! I recommend saying that everytime they threaten to pull out you'll lower your offer by a couple of grand! And definitely drop your bid last minute. They are desperate to off-load stock for cashflow!- Don't sign off the initial faults list for a long time. They will pressure you to do this but don't. Once you sign it off, you can technically still get things fixed but it basically doesn't happen. We were given a weird vent with flaps which we didn't ask for, instead of the normal once, and it woke our two-year-old daughter up every time it was windy and they didn't fix it for three months. It took a lot of chasing from me and caused a lot of stress.- Bear in mind that Bovis couldn't care less about the quality of their product and service but are trying to rip you off as much as possible.- Be prepared for lots of things to break not long into living there and, once the two period period is up, for the costs to start adding up.

Top Spec New Builds - worth every penny

My partner and I recently visited Bovis Homes at Western Gate, Harpole, NN7, and were greeted by a Gentleman called Sean. We have to speak as we find and can only say that he was so helpful, explained everything in full detail and there was no pressure involved - a delightful experience, unlike some, where you can often feel pressured. He took us around to view properties that were being finished and the Spec of them was perfect and high quality, you couldn't fault them in any way. We have looked at various new build properties, but Bovis is definitely at the top end and worth 5 Stars, and with representatives like Sean it can only be positive.

Bovis , a very very bad experience...

Bovis sold me a home that was built in 2016 in a place called SHorelands in Bude. It is now Sept 2022 and they still have NOT done the road surface. They also charged maintenance fees which are not due till the whole build at Shorelands is completed and wont refund the cash. I will never be buying a house from them again or one on a development they built. Its now Feb 2023 and still no refund from Bovis!!!! But they have at last surfaced the road outside the house along the culdesac and it has only taken them EIGHT years to do it after taking the money for the sale!!!!!!

Buying a Bovis home.

Hi. We recently wanted to buy a New Bovis Home from the Gateway in Bexhill East Sussex. We had a buyer for our home we paid a deposit of Β£500 to secure our new home at Bovis. Unfortunately our buyer pulled out, not unusual in these times we advised Bovis that we were still interested and wanted our New home. We were still several months away from the new house being ready. Bovis advised us that they could not wait for us to get a new buyer, not only did we lose the opportunity to buy our new house but we also lost half the deposit (Β£250). We have noticed that our new house is still not built and this is 4 months since we were told it could not be saved for us. Also we have noticed several other properties are up for sale on this Bovis site and have been for sometime. We have also noticed that Bovis property prices have not reduced in line with the changing market. To me it’s not a surprise that Bovis are not selling houses if they turn away potential buyers. If Bovis pulled out of this agreement why should I lose out.

They are cow boy company

They are cow boy company. They build houses with cheap poor material and charge a lot of money for them. We bought a house 7 years ago from them, new, and the issues are just piling, one after another.Incorrectly installed drain pipes, our toilets are continually blocked, incorrectly installed overflows, our roof is leaking damaging the ceiling in the bathroom and one bedroom. The sockets are randomly positioned, there is no level. There was no level in the toilet, the toilet was leaning to the side, the windows although advertised as breathable, do not breath at all, condensation is so huge, that we have water coming down on the window sills and on the floors every morning, the sink downstairs was installed cracked, the walls lack level and the walls were painted with cheap paint, which started chipping after half a year. I could just go on.Customer service is horrible, nobody wants to help and they just sends you round in circles from one person to another. They do not want to do any fixes, the warantly for the house is 10 years, we have been here 7 and they do not want to admit they are responsible for poor workmanship, rubbish management and awful materials used. Never buy a house from them They charge so much for so little they give.

Awful and expensive Bovis part exchange experience

My wife and I were encouraged to part exchange our property for a Bovis house in Horam East Sussex as we wanted to move to the area from an area where the property market was slower. We were very clear about this from the outset and told that it would not be a problem. Bovis made a good offer on our property and told us that we had to be in a position to complete within 6 weeks and to instruct our solicitor immediately. We were cautious about this as they hadn't carried out a building survey but we were pressured by the sales team that we had to keep up the 6 weeks pace. Bovis listed our property on the market with local agents at the price they had agreed to pay (Β£30,000 below the agents consensus on market value - but this was ok for us) and carried out several viewings whilst the property was still owned by us. After about 3 weeks Bovis reduced the price of our property by Β£10,000 without consulting us, further de-valuing it in the local market place, and when challenged on this said that they were only interested in a quick sale for the first time. Despite forcing us to rush Bovis didn't carry out the survey on our property for 3 weeks and they then took another 2 weeks to produce the report - there were no major defects found. When I called the sales team I was told that the time wasted in producing the report did not effect anything and that we needed to keep paying solicitors fees, searches etc so that we could meet the 6 weeks deadline. Once it became clear to Bovis that they would not sell our flat in the 6 week period it took to buy our house I received a phone call from a low level member of the sales team to tell me matter of factly that they were pulling out of the deal. At this point we had spent around Β£5000 and were 6 days from exchange of contracts. Overall it was a really awful experience dealing with Bovis, from the sales teams rudeness to the money we lost. We visited the site about 2 months after our deal had fallen through and the house we were buying was sold. I strongly suspect that the reason our deal fell through is that a non-part exchange purchaser enquired about it and was preferred by Bovis. We sold our flat about 4 weeks after the deal fell through on the open market but had to sell at the lower amount that Bovis had reduced it to without permission as people enquiring had seen it at this price. I would estimate that the total cost to us in trying to deal with Bovis was around Β£15,000.

They act like a scam

They act like a scam. Filled in enquiry with phone number, but then they will send email telling you that's no phone number to contact you - and the email account they sent is not monitored + bounced back. Tried to call them 3 times and no one pick up. Poor experience and definitely not further proceeding with them

Do not buy a new home from Bovis

August 2021 we brought a brand new home from Bovis Homes in Drakes Broughton, from the moment we moved in we have had nothing but problems, a hole in the wall which they’d tried to hide with the radiator, doors that didnt fit properly, handles constantly falling off the doors, falling off the windows on the front ( less than a year of being here ) leaking downstairs toilet which they came back 3 times and said it was fixed but wasnt and ruined the flooring in the WC. Broken tiles in the bathroom and the list goes on. This is a house which no one had lived in before us.

We had a fantastic experience with Bovis home

We had a fantastic experience with Bovis home at Edwalton fields in Nottingham.Especially Kelly Rudkin from sales team, she is absolutely amazing sales person. She gave a lot of information regarding my enquiry even something is not related to the house, it is my first time to buy a house in this country, she did help me gone though this complicated process with patience and explained all the things. Now we had moved into this lovely house, to be honest, there are some small details part it need to fix it, but the site manager and the technician Mark, Billy and Jim they are all helping me to solve all the problems.I read a many reviews in here regarding the bad service of Bovis home, I don’t feel in this way and quite a opposite that I am glad I bought a house in here from them, such a nice team.
