GoogleI bought my house through Bonner and Babbingtons so they were the ideal choice to sell with. My sale was complicated by completely useless buyers estate agents and incompetent solicitors elsewhere int he chain. Cheap doesn’t mean effective. I was impressed by Chris, Zach and Riley’s ability to push things forward when they had to deal with unprofessional behaviour from other parties. It’s a testament to their patience and ability that my sale was completed without me having a nervous breakdown. Highly recommended

GoogleHaving had experience of Bonners from a letting perspective (tennants) for over eight years, and had dealings with them over the sale of two houses (one of which we were tennants). I would never use them again, and not recommend them to anyone. From a lettings prespective, the standard of tradespeople brought in to do simple DIY jobs were horrific, and normally resulted in additonal visits, and/or different tradespeople coming to complete the job. In some cases it was a tradesperson with little experience in the job that was needed. I would hate to think of how these were then invoiced to the landlord, and how that affected rent increases over the years (which of course Bonners would get a cut of, so any increase their benefits them). Three monthly inspections went ahead and reports were the same every quarter, no issues were highlighted unless pointed out by us. (luckily we had a good relationship with the landlord) From a sales perspective, Bonners were very inactive in getting visits until threatened with moving estate agents. When veiwings were arranged, people viewing weren't suited to the property and had no intention of putting offers in. When offers were put in these were pushed despite being well below the value that the house was on the market for. As I said the entire level of service was just poor, and felt like they were just in it for the money, for doing the least amount of work involved.

Given the length of time you reference, we feel it is important to respond with clarity and perspective. Firstly, remaining with the same agency for over eight years, across both lettings and two property sales, (although a tenant that had been given notice in the most recent ‘sale’ of the property you were living in) suggests a level of ongoing engagement that does not align with the severity of the claims now being made. Long-term relationships in property management and sales are built on consistent communication, compliance, and results. With regard to maintenance, all contractors instructed are vetted and appropriately qualified for the works they undertake. In property management, follow-up visits are not unusual; they are often part of ensuring work meets both safety standards and landlord approval. Any costs incurred are agreed directly with landlords, and rent levels are determined by market conditions, not by maintenance invoices, nor by agency preference. Suggesting otherwise reflects a misunderstanding of how regulated lettings operate. Quarterly inspections are conducted to protect both landlord and tenant, with findings documented objectively. If no issues were recorded, that would typically indicate the property was being maintained appropriately, something most tenants would regard as positive. From a sales perspective, property viewings are arranged to generate competition and market feedback. Not every viewing results in an offer, nor should it; effective marketing involves exposing a property to the widest relevant audience to achieve best value. Offers, regardless of level, must legally be presented to the vendor. Advising on market position and buyer proceedability is not “pushing” an outcome, it is providing professional guidance based on real-time market evidence. We fully appreciate that not every experience will feel seamless. However, the suggestion that our team operates with minimal effort or purely for financial gain is somewhat offensive and overlooks the regulatory framework, professional standards, and client accountability that govern our industry. We remain confident in the service standards we uphold and in the many long-standing clients, both landlords and vendors, who continue to place their trust in us and the many 5 star google reviews we have across our network of offices.

Inquired about a house, instantly met with the stereotype used car sales / mobile phone sales attitude estate agents have a reputation for, not lacking here that is for sure. From the off, the attitude was one of patronising, thumbing the nose and putting (the customer!) in their place. The arrogance was off the scale, how on earth the owners of the business feel this is the approach to build relationships with purchasers or a way to run a business I don’t know. Agent was not helpful in the least, not able to answer questions and had a general can’t be bothered with you attitude. It was as if they got a kick out of being this way… Will be avoiding Bonners like the plague and suggest anyone else does the same.

When the first sale unfortunately fell through, they already had viewings lined up and quickly got things moving again. Communication was brilliant throughout, we were always kept updated with viewings and feedback.
