Lovely, helpful staff member. Unfortunately the open plan design not for us, and some design issues. Some possibly better choices of design won’t be ready until later next year, so timing also not right. I don’t know why the heating was on full blast in the show home unnecessarily and all the lights were on - couldn’t wait to get out - and not good for the environment!

Do not purchase with Avant Homes! We have lived in new homes for the past 10 years, and never have we had an experience like this one.. From the first day we moved in, it has been problem after problem. We are now 1 year into our new home and items off the original snag list have not been actioned, like cracks in windows, a draft through the house coming from a bay window that they know has an issue and exterior cladding and fascias that mean the house looks incomplete. We spent over 400k on this house and the driveway isn't even big enough to have the cars on it whilst being able to open the garage door! the business solution was to overhang onto the pavement or for me and my wife to fork out for a roller door! Avant Homes said that the building and driveway was made to the drawing, which by the way you are not allowed to have.... but as there are no regulations to the length of driveways, they are overlooking the practicality of what they have planned and if we would have seen the drawing with an understanding of the swing of the garage door, I dont think we would have purchased this house! We have had no choice but to raise our complaints with NHBC due to the lack of standards and customer service this business offers. If you are looking to live around this area, please do not be the people to go through this pain! It has not been worth it. Time after time we have given the Avant Homes team chances to resolve and even their Area customer manager came out and promised the world to deliver nothing! We have seen 3 customer success team come and go in the last year and 2 site managers! I think this says alot about this business.

Steer clear of avant homes.

Warning - do not buy from avant homes. Purchased a home in June, they are full of lies and deceit. They sell you a dream and deliver utter rubbish. 6 months In and we have 100’s of issues still. This to included legal Boundaries in the wrong place, walls been knocked down in the house due to drainage not been installed correctly, tiling wrong, kitchen units knackered, suppliers won’t work with avant homes, if your kitchen has an Ellis kitchen be careful as they will currently not work or supply parts to avant homes. Mould growth in a new build, drainage issues, driveway issues, garden issues, patios laid not fit for purpose, thousand of pounds in upgraded granite worktops installed like a jigsaw puzzle, avant directors after director visiting your home, main managing directing visiting your home, issuing hundreds of emails with promises of works but works what do happen are worse than the state the house was left in. Managing director of the region conceded they have failed but then still doesn’t put it right. Customer service lies, hundreds of emails chasing for updates to result in a legal case and a submission to the NHOS and NHBC. If this sounds like what you want to live through, sign up to buy. If not stay away.

Dont buy an Avant home

If I could give this a zero I would . What a truly horrendous experience, after moving into my property in June 23 I had a garden that flooded. I had to put a formal complaint in last November after being told several lies by this company about drains in my garden.one year on the problem is still not resolved and they refuse to do anything further. I have tried to escalate my complaint further but they don’t know who to escalate it to ?? The managing director Richard Hosie will have no communication with me at all. The complaints process is a joke at the customers expense. You have to fight to get all your snagging done which takes forever. What should have been a life changing move has turned into a horrendous experience this has been and so stressful. Do your research before you buy an Avant home they all look beautiful when you visit the show home but in reality it’s a different story.

Christmas had come early!

Christmas has come early!! After waiting for over a year, thanks to Caroline getting this sorted, two fabulous technicians came to my house today, Laura & Simon. They have rectified my very badly fitted kitchen, cured my squeaking floors and completed all of my outstanding snagging bits which have accumulated since I moved in. They both went over and above and to say I’m completed thrilled is an understatement! I can’t thank them enough for how hard they have worked and for the standard of work. Avant have definitely redeemed themselves!! I feel like I can finally settle into my property on Alma Place.

As I’m sure people looking at these reviews will know how overwhelming it can get going from new build site to new build site having the same conversations etc….. Out of all the sites we visited over the weekend (around 6 or 7) sandy met us with a lovely smile and a welcoming hand…after probably having a horrific commute to work due to the bad snow. She listened to our position and really made the experience personal. Again, out of all the sales advisors we spoke to sandy was the most knowledgeable and personable. Sandy truly set the bar for the rest of the sales advisors we spoke to over the course of the weekend and I must say other builders advisors did not come close to this lady! We visited the site again on Sunday to take another look at the show home and again we had such a warm welcome nothing was a bother for sandy, all of our questions were answered and actually after we came away we decided we wanted to be on this site and yes of course because we love the house but actually one of the main reasons was because of Sandy.We really hope to buy on this site but if for whatever reason it is not meant to be (plot & part exchange) we would recommend Sandy and Avant based on our experience alone!! The good and the bad

We love our house on Alma Place, it’s a gorgeous house and we have loved making it our home. The initial sales team worked well with us to secure our home, however, if you are reaching the end of the month when you’re due to complete and your solicitors aren’t quite ready, they will be very pushy and advise that they may have to forfeit your sale if it isn’t completed. We ended up spending an extra £1,000 to swap to their solicitors to ensure we were completed for them to meet their deadlines. Avant fixed our initial issues very quickly, including being plumed into hot water instead of cold etc, however, we have been fighting for some drainage on our drive since March, which was subsequently agreed and now there is ‘no record of this’ and the people we have spoken to have either ‘left’ or are ‘off sick’. We have tried to contact customer services multiple times via email and are met with no response. Our neighbours are also having the same issue. We have had issues with the site staff using our property for their equipment and making a mess from the site and this has not been rectified either. I am currently trying to speak with them regarding our heating system as that’s not working properly either… and we’ve only been in 6 months. You will find you really like your home, however the aftercare team do no such thing as ‘aftercare’. I’ve felt blatantly ignored, and even when I’ve had reassurance that I’m not being, I don’t believe it. Be wary is all I will say, and take it all with a pinch of salt.
