The company have done amazing helping us buy our first home and so supportive for first time buyers that’s don’t have a clue what they are doing 😂 constantly giving us updates of a future home which we love! Don’t have a bad thing to say about them.

Avant homes are definitely now not a quality builder They have recently been bought outThey are producing substandard properties and selling properties with known structural issuesI have recently purchased a property from them and was the worst decision of my life. Look at other builders please do not be in the position I am in

Jane, Neil and Andrew were outstanding in helping us with the process of moving into our new home. Jane was particularly helpful and patient with correspondence whist I was working away for long periods, making sure that my wife was looked after with all planning and decision making. I went to Avant Homes in Mickleover to look at the schemes they had available. The woman working very abruptly said ‘what are you doing here then’ which I gave benefit of the doubt and took with a pinch of salt. She then said she had to take my name which I didn’t mind, but I did state that I’m not in a position to buy currently but I wanted to know which new build schemes Avant were offering. It seemed as through from that moment she didn’t take me seriously and spoke to me in a patronising manner. We asked to look at the show homes to assess build quality as this is something which I feel is important when finding a home. As we were going through she said we shouldn’t be looking at the decor but should be looking at the build quality. For a new build show home (representing the quality of the company), the general feeling I took away from this was poor build quality. The door at the entrance for storage was not closing properly, cupboards were creaking. Door handles creaked, one of them upstairs didn’t spring back when pushed down. The stair bannister also had a crack in it, and the stairs creaked. I understand that these houses may have lots of traffic going through due to people wanting to view them, but what I did not appreciate was the patronising remark made by the woman in the sales office as we were looking. These hand-in-hand do not bode well. A couple of weeks later, my parents went to view the houses and speak to a sales representative, and were met with same reception by the same person: ‘who are you and what do you want’. If I were high up in the business of Avant, I’d be looking into the way this staff member behaves this way and querying why she is still in a job like this because she seems to severely dislike people. My parents came away very dejected after receiving comments like ‘we don’t want any second hand rubbish’ regarding a potential part exchange and that they were unprepared. From my understanding, these people are here to help others make big financial and life decisions, and shouldn’t be met with rude remarks. They should be met with support and someone to answer questions, regardless of how silly they may come across to the person working. I then got bombarded with phone calls for around a week after, the first one being around 5 minutes after leaving the site. This same woman said ‘do you want me to pass your information on to our financial advisors or what’. Not very nice. AVANT, if you read this, I’d advise you to have a look into this staff member. I’m sure that I’m not the first to be complaining, and probably not going to be the last.

First meeting at Skelton went well. Sales agent was lovely but did not have any 2 bedroom houses to show us. Later called me and we spoke and said there was availability on their Sherburn in Elmet so booked it in. Unfortunately had some issues day of and anticipated we would miss our appointment so called the number we were given and told the lady we would be over 20 minutes late. She said it was okay to still attend and she would pop over an email to the Sherburn site. Arrived there and of course did not expect to have an appointment but we wanted to see the home and had been told it would be fine regardless. Sales lady at the site was so pompous, speaking to us like we were children. Even though we apologised, she kept trying to usher us out saying she had no space for us (again we weren't expecting her to abandon her current appointment, we just wanted to see the house we had confirmed we could see and driven over 40 minutes to see) until I said her colleague on the phone had said the house was available to view. Funny she said she had had no correspondence but yielded once we let her know that. That's when she relented a bit and coldly let us through, treating us with so much disdain. The house was fine, but difficult to truly appreciate when you've just had a sour experience. Hopefully she has more grace for future clients

Went to see Julia, the sales advisor for Hackett Grange in Radcliffe on Trent. Julia was one of the most friendly, warm and lovely people I've ever met, and the most affable sales advisor. She took the time to explain everything to us, and nothing was too much trouble for her. She was incredibly accommodating ad went above and beyond to secure the best deal for us. Unfortunately, we decided against it due to the location of the site being too far away from work and amenities, however our experience with Julia left a lasting impression with Avant Homes. I would jump at the chance to deal with her again for a future development.

The viewing was not rushed and I had ample time in the show home. Sarah did not try to pressure me into securing a deal like many representatives try to do. Overall, a nice experience.
