We met with Shirley at Elizabeth Gardens Mid March 2021, under the strict appointment system due to the covid restrictions. Shirley was fantastic and talked us through the whole process. Assisted move and the reservation process was clearly explained. Shirly was honest and transparent right up to our reservation. We have now finally reserved our dream home with Ashberry on Elizabeth Gardens. This would not have been possible without the help and support of both Shirley ( Ashberry Homes) and Jamie from Assisted Move. Outstanding service. Plot Reserved

We have only just reserved our plot with Ashberry Homes on the Church View site. The agent arranged an Assisted Move and we were very impressed by both Estate Agents and our house sold within 3 days! As it happened quickly we were able to secure the plot we wanted and both David and Sarah have explained the procedure. It's been a while since we bought our last house, 17 years, and things have changed, however Sarah talked us through it which made it simple to understand. Well done to both agents.

Wonderful company, currently in the process of buying a large plot at Elizabeth gardens in Rochford. Shirley at the sales office is a wonderful lady, been supportive the whole way through. We have used the assisted move scheme which I highly recommend. The whole process is transparent and the company have been there all the way. Hate being that guy to post this and never one to post anything but would hate for anyone to go through the experience my partner and I have gone through over the last 5 months with Ashberry @ Calderwood. Before I list the timeline below of the utter shambles that unfolded, i want to explain that the main reason for posting this is that we have, by sheer luck and coincidence, come into contact with a couple through social media who have the exact same story, more or less the same timeline and relating to the EXACT same plots.Late Jan 2021 - partner and I visited the Ashberry sales office and enquired about available plots. From discussing options with the sales team member, we had showed an initial interest in plot 64 with a completion date of Oct/Nov 21 and plot likely to be released April/May. As we were looking at plots that were to be completed until later in the phase, no one had shown any interest therefore our names were first listed on this plot. We were advised of the process that we needed an offer on our own property to reserve and after a few weeks of discussions, put our property on the market at the end of February.Mid Feb - our property had an offer accepted within 3 days of being marketed. Made Ashberry aware that our house would be sold mid April. We were told to keep them up to date every other week.End of Feb - we received a call to say that the construction plan of phase 1 had suddenly changed and that because of this. Plot 64 would no longer be completed until late 2022. We then decided to proceed with plot 3 as due to the change in construction, plot 3 had the same estimated completion date and again, no one had shown any interest in as yet.Early Apr - updated Ashberry every few weeks as agreed but with around 3 weeks before our house was due to complete, we were told the construction plan had once again changed and plot 3 was now set to complete between Dec 21- Feb 22. We had asked if the change of plan had any impact on our original Plot 64, however, we were told this plot had now been reserved...? Should have seen the signs by this point!!19th April - our house sale had completed and emailed Ashberry to make them aware. We received a call at 5pm advising that they apologised however, plot 3 was now delayed due to ANOTHER construction plan change and was now ready OCT/NOV 2022!!! Delayed not by 2/3 months that originally advised but by 12!!I completely get that but for 3 significant ‘construction’ changes to happen within 3 months and delay potential completion dates of up to 12 months, how can anyone trust or even plan their lives around this?I also understand that it was our choice to sell our property, but with the information provided at the time, the reservation process in place and by trusting the staff, how could we ever foresee delays of 12 - 16 months!This left our plans in utter chaos as we were now, in theory, homeless and with only just selling our first home, had prospect of moving into our new home scrapped in the matter or minutes. We were offered first refusal on a plot in phase 2 but again completion was estimated Apr 2022. How could we possibly trust this?!?!After a couple of emails and a lengthy phone call with the Ashberry/Bellwsy sales manager, we were told that the delay was because they never had the relevant permissions to transfer the construction compound from phase 1 to phase 2 and that they had admittedly made a massive error and let down a number of people.I understand that Ashberry/Bellway won’t give a second thought about this as i know they will have a minimum 4,5,6 interest applicants per plot due to it’s location but i hope that this post will give people a real insight into how Ashberry operate as a builder and how flawed there construction/reservation process is. At the start of the process, I couldn’t have thought any more of the sales member or Ashberry however, looking back, i can safely say that we have dodged a bullet.Luckily, i had been able to have an offer accepted on another property relatively quickly or this would have been a completely different post. Apart from the sheer incompetence and severe lack of trust, i want to make people aware that despite being told we had first refusal over each plot, it’s now come to light that at least one other couple were given the same guarantees!! I wonder how many others out there were given the same assurances. I can only imagine what the outcome would have been if everything had went to plan but to be told at the reservation stage someone else has been given the plot!!Ashberry are an associated company with Bellway so it is by no means the ‘5 star builder’ that is slapped all over their sites in Calderwood. If certainly doesn’t take reliability into account.
