I instructed Townends in Addlestone to rent out my 1 bedroom flat. I dealt with Max & Katy in the local office who were very professional and extremely helpful. I would not hesitate to call on their services again. Highly recommend the rental team.

Have been living with loose dangerous tiles in my bathroom for nearly 6 months now and very little has been done or followed up about this situation. This company is the worst letting agent I have ever had the misfortune to rent through in London. Some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced, because there is none.

Avoid at all cost. They leased me a property that wasn't cleaned at all, with dirt and disgusting mould like patches on the walls and by the windows. Agency and the landlord claimed that it is professionally cleaned which was obviously not true. On top of that I was left without heating and hot water for my first 2 days at the apartment and agency didn't provide any assistance or help during these drastic circumstances. In addition, when I was trying to receive help or guidance my point of contact in agency blocked me even on WhatsApp. I have leased from different agencies across 3 countries and I can certainly claim that is the most unprofessional agency I ever had contact with and the experience has been dreadful. Please avoid signing with them unless you want to live in a place with no heating and having a constant headache getting any assistance from them.

Max from Townends Addlestone took a lot of pressure of me when I was searching for a new home. He made the viewing experience great and only showed me properties relevant to my search. Max new everything about the property and anything he wasn’t unsure with he found out and called straight away. He got my offer accepted extremely fast and I’d be happy to go back to Townends again in the future. The whole team are welcoming and professional.

We bought a maisonette through Regents in February dealing with both Richard and Chris but primarily Richard. From the outset we found him to be personable, professional and efficient. The communication throughout the buying process was excellent and nothing was ever too much trouble for him. He clearly enjoys his job and isn't pushy like many estate agents can be! We would highly recommend using Regents as they genuinely care about who they are dealing with and come across as a very organised and friendly team. Thanks so much for helping us to find our lovely new home Richard!

I an renting a property through Regents. I have had some minor difficulties with then, which resulted in a dispute. However after a discussion they were sympathetic to my situation and showed kindness and a willingness to resolve the situation. They can sometimes fail to communicate a complete picture, which can result in issues arising, but generally they fulfill the role of estate agents and can help many people buy/sell/rent a property in a simple and easy to understand process. My recommendation would be that if you wish to do business with Regents, please ensure you get all agreed costs in writing prior to signing anything. If you have done this, you should have an issue free experience with Regents.

The lettings management is less than a joke. I've been trying to deal with them about a phone line issue, where they only have to call the landlord (which I cannot contact myself, as they won't provide contact information) and ask for permission to reinstall a phone line. It's been now 6+ weeks of me calling multiple times a week, being told someone will call me back within the day every single time. Spoiler alert: not once I've been called back. I now just spoke to a plainly rude lady on the phone, who essentially told me I need to talk to some other person, which is not there now, as she can't really tell me anything. You should be out of business, and I am sorry I didn't know any better when I paid your fees. I should have just avoided properties advertised by Townends.

FOR YOUR OWN BENEFIT, I ADVISE YOU NOT TO HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS ABSOLUTE SHAMBLES OF A BUSINESS!!! If I could give minus stars I would. Absolute mockery of an organising with a bunch of clowns trying to run it. It was a shambles from start to finish with them and would advise you to look elsewhere. Bunch of money grabbing arseholes! Extreme fees to move in! Β£500 admin fee and Β£175 to walk around with a clip board and charge for an β€˜Inventory fee’ (even got a lot of that wrong!) Told me parking was free when I moved in, got a ticket two days later. The oven broke and it took 3 weeks to rectify as they gave the contractor the telephone number of the person who lived there before me. Shower broke and it took 6 weeks to fix as they have no control over the landlord who apparently didn’t get back to them. A further Β£100 fee to renew the tenancy after a year. When I moved out it was cleaned to a very good standard but still wanted to charge me Β£219 for a professional clean as they stated there was a β€˜dusty toilet roll holder’ and β€˜dusty curtain pole’. Then to top it off there was a few items missing from the inventory which was packed in error by my friend when I left. This was brought up upon check out so I later returned the items to the office in Guildford. 2 MONTHS later when I finally received my deposit back (was charged Β£180 in the end for the dusty toilet roll holder and curtain pole) I was also charged a further Β£50 for the missing items I had returned weeks before. When I called them to ask why, they admitted that the box of items was still sat in the office and they had done nothing with it. Then proceeded to laugh and say β€˜I don’t know what you want us to do about it?’. Shambles! The agents are all very rude and as much use as a chocolate fireguard! Cannot stress enough how much of a joke this lot are so I would advise everyone and anyone to stay well clear.

If you are considering giving Townend the business of letting your property or renting a property from them I would suggest caution. Make absolutely sure that all the I's are dotted and the T's crossed. They have a reputation as being a little sharp with what they promise, the way they communicate with clients and suppliers and what they promise they will provide. They do not have a credible or mature way of handling customer complaints and are reluctant to to accept responsibility for errors made. You've been warned.

Do not rent anything from this agency because they do not give a deposit and cheat and do nothing if it comes to failure and do not receive phones .if you leave the property to invent anything lest you give a deposit . They swear and they charged me almost half the deposit , I am very dissatisfied and would not recommend to rent anything from this agency . the house was very bad condition and dirty and littered with trash , I repainted and led to clean inside and Garden , and the agency deducted me almost half of the deposit . beware of this agency because they cheat !!!

By far the worst letting agent I have ever dealt with. When they first registered me for a gas bill, which was included in the rent, I still thought shit happens - then two month after the complaint I get a water bill. Toom the landlord and me weeks to sort all of it out, as Townends either had no idea or was plain unhelpful. Just when we thought their mess was fixed they canceled my registration with council tax (which was not included) and it took another three month to get things fixed! It does not help that no one ever replies to e-mails, the branch doesn't know what head-office is doing and the agents are outright rude. During my notice period all I asked for were 24h notice before a viewing (since Townends couldn't get the spare key to work for whatever reason) so that I could be there. They still kept calling in the afternoon for evening viewings and then acted all prissy when I told them I had already made plans. Moving out was no better, which the inventory lady rude enough to arrive 15 minutes late and then not even rang the doorbell, but tried to get in with the spare key by herself although she knew I should be there. What the...? And a few hours later the agent tells me to arrange another viewing, because clearly no one talks to each other and/or people just forget when the checkouts are scheduled. Either way I as glad to be out of this place, which is a shame because the apartment and the andlords were lovely and deserved better. Needless to say I am still waiting for my deposit to be returned. So if any of the perople at Townends reads this - which I doubt - please contact me as I want to have it back and close this awful chapter asap.

Townends Estate Agent - Streatham Branch, has just been, to say the list, unprofessional. We had our flat listed with them for 2 months and they only produce very few viewings. After that we decided to serve them the contractual noticed of 2 weeks, which ended yesterday 22/07/16. However, during the notice period they, without our agreement, reduced the asking price. Also, still showing our property on the internet. Phone calls to the office have proved irritating to say the least. I ask for the manager and he is never there. I leave messages and he never returns the calls. Emailed yesterday complaining and no reply. What are they playing at?

It is surprising that this company is still in existence. From all of the negative feedback and poor reviews online, it only further took personal experience to realise how absurd, ridiculous, and unprofessional this company really is. After dealing with 5 different people and sending several emails to both the Egham office and main office accounting the issues we have had nearly EVERY DAY for two weeks, we have gotten ZERO written confirmation of anything. Specifically, we have been dealing with new tenants moving into a property we have paid for. We told Townends a specific date we would move out, and instead a new date was already assumed and confirmed by them without us knowing. Additionally, a move in date has already been confirmed with the NEW tenants, which we were never told of either until after it had been confirmed. However, it was even more shocking that the landlord did not know of this confirmed move in date either! To date, this issue has not been resolved. If it wasn't for the forced rating of "1 star" I would have put "0" or negative if I could. If word-of-mouth proves influential in a companies reputation, I hope it would be this one. A word of advice? Improve your communication. It appears a lot of individual work at Townends (we know, we have talked to a different one every time we call!), so focusing on getting them to talk to one another would be a good start.
