After purchasing a new build property via Hodsons from Alan and Gareth Bertram building company i have been left with 2 leaking showers, a damaged kitchen ceiling, poorly installed extraction fans which caused mould to build up in the loft, large gaps under the vinyl flooring and rotting skirting boards. The reason for my review is because of the level of confidence Hodsons filled me with at the point of viewing. I asked numerous questions regarding this building company and they reassured me of zero issues from them in 7 years of dealing with them (after speaking to previous employees this clearly wasn't true). Worst Estate Agent ever. Pushes you into making offers, very unhelpful, difficult to get viewings with, doesn't get best price for sellers beware before using them. Follow up review I asked Marie to tel me back as to why my treatment at Hodsons had been so bad! She then threatened me with Hodsons 'legal Department' if I left a bad ( but truthful ) review. Of course, I have never to date had this call back!! Says it all really, about their appalling customer care. Do not trust this disreputable company buyers or sellers. Be warned!! My experience they do not even get the best price for sellers and as for a buyer words fail me! BEWARE AT YOUR OWN RISK IF YOU USE.

We are extremely happy after successfully selling our house through Hodsons. After almost a year trying to sell with another Abingdon agent - we truthfully thought that all estate agents were the same - and that a change wouldn't yield much. We were pleased to find out this wasn't the case. After initial phone contact with Warrick, we met Christina at our property to further discuss our experience so far and understand what Hodsons had to offer. We were impressed with Christina's honest assessment of our situation, acceptance of our expectations and plan of action going forward. From here, the marketing and communication were excellent. We particularly appreciate the effort made to accommodate viewings around our young family. When a buyer was finally secured, continued support from Jenny allowed us to navigate all issues that arose. We also opted to use Slade Legal, Hodsons suggested solicitors, and have no doubt that the open communication between the two became invaluable in our situation. Do not use this estate agent unless you want to be lied to. They advised the purchaser of my mother's land would be a nice local builder they know and the 3 bed house that would be built and be sold on to a nice family. The said buyer is a property investor who has been bullying my mum this February. The 3 bedroom house will now be flats which will be rented - months of rejections through planning but he was awarded permission. Disgusting how my widow pensioner mother is and continues to be bullied by the buyer. Zero stars if could as we paid for what we promised was a lovely builder and family and are not getting either.

Put simply, Hodsons are outstanding estate agents. We have been attempting to buy and sell for the last two years, and we have encountered no end of difficulties with solicitors, vendors, mortgage companies, etc. Throughout this entire period, Hodsons have been reliable, straight-talking, agreeable, and consistently full of sound advice. They have also been extremely patient with our naivety and persistent questions. I cannot recommend Hodsons highly enough. Maxine Roberts deserves to be singled out, as she has seen us from initial valuation right through to exchange, and she has displayed all the qualities you could ever ask for in an estate agent - with the right combination of tenacity and sensitivity. Warrick, Nick, Marie, Lisa and the rest of the team have also been highly professional and personable whenever we have had contact with them. If ever you needed evidence of why high street agents are worth every penny and why online estate agents can only offer so much, then our experience of Hodsons provides that evidence.
