We recently bought and sold through Hodsons and, having spent around 2 years looking for the right home, we dealt with most of the agents in Abingdon. Nick and Jennifer T are excellent at viewings and arrive well informed and able to answer questions on the property they are showing. We felt that Nick particuarly understood what we were looking for. When compared to other agents in town, we were always happier viewing properties with Hodsons. In terms of the sale, Warwick and Maxine came to value our propety and they were both engaging and treated us as people and our home as if it were special - something that won them the opportunity to sell it over the others we had in. (My only criticism is they were a little over ambitious on the sale price!). Jenny Phillip then took over the whole process of purchase and sale and the transaction proceeded well and efficiently. There was always someone to talk to when needed - Marie in the office always being able to answer questions as well. In summary, we had the best possible service from Hodsons, and compared to the others we have interacted with, I would choose Hodsons every time.PositiveResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism

My experience with Hodsons was 110% positive from the start to completion. I was given a very realistic assessment of my property and the proof of that was receiving offers very quickly. Throughout the process I received all the support I could have wished for. Selling is not an easy business at the best of times and the Covid pandemic brought it's own challenges however, the team enabled everything to proceed smoothly from viewings to key exchange on the final day. Service is highly professional while being very approachable and friendly. The entire team have a wealth of expertise and knowledge and nothing seems to much for them. I would like to take this opportunity to say a big THANK YOU to 'Hodsons' for getting me and my family our first home. They took full responsibility and made everything so easy for us. We only went twice to see them, first for viewing and second to get keys. Rest of everything they handled very professionally and in a much supportive manner. We viewed our house for the first time on 22nd July and got our keys on 25 September, in just two months, when everything is getting delayed due to pandemic, we got our house in a pretty less time, all due to their consistent support and dedication. We've been very pleased overall with our first house purchase through Hodsons, given that we were faced with the COVID-19 pandemic! The process began well when they organised lots of viewings in a short space of time for us. Nick was really good and very realistic about what we could get when he showed us around, and really came across very trustworthy which was great :). Christina was fab with negotiating our offer for us, and was extremely efficient in getting all necessary initial documentation to us. Our biggest thanks must go to Jenny. She was fantastic through our progression, and was hugely responsive and friendly given that she was handling our purchase throughout a tough time working from home. I can't give 5 stars as we had an advertising snag, but would definitely give at least 4.5 stars as Jenny dealt with it all very swiftly and we got a great deal in the end. Overall, we would definitely recommend going through Hodsons to buy your first house. They know the local area really well, are very efficient at getting back to you and are a really friendly bunch of professionals when you go into the office. Given the uncertain time we are currently in, I think they've done a great job. Big thank you :) x

I’m really happy to write this review about Hodsons Abingdon, something I don’t usually do. Being a first-time buyer, I thought the process would not be smooth. However, the team at Hodsons did a wonderful job of making the experience of buying our first home stress-free. Andrew and Nick generously shared a wealth of information and deep knowledge during the viewings of several properties. They also offered valuable pieces of advice. Philip handled our offer on the property we liked efficiently and professionally. Kerry handled the sale progression seamlessly. Communication was great at every stage. This review is aimed at people who are considering not using Hodsons, drawing on my own experience. Maxine and Warrick in particular are not only experts with period properties but they are also enthusiastic. I don’t think house are generic, I also know that they don’t sell themselves, you need Hodsons. Hodsons gave me a steady trickle of viewings and decent, prompt feedback after each. They found me the best possible buyer for my circumstances and personally chased for a quick exchange because I had bridging finance in place so wanted a swift sale. This was above and beyond what they needed to do and without them doing this I would have spent thousands extra on finance. This is my first experience where the Estate agents didn’t just sell and chase, there were negotiations right up until exchange which could have derailed the entire sale and without Maxine I can honestly say that the transaction wouldn’t have taken place. If you think there are alternatives out there, please think again! On a personal note, thank you to Maxine and to Warrick and the entire team supporting them, from the very bottom of my heart. You’ve enabled a new family to start their life together in a lovely home and you’ve allowed me to really start settling into my new dreams. For Abingdon and the surrounding areas, you can't do better than Hodsons. They provide a premium service with staff that are dedicated, friendly and helpful. All the house viewings I attended were professionally attended by a member of their staff who were always aqble to answer even the most difficult of questions about the property / area. During the conveyancing process my assigned sales progressor was hot on their heels making sure the chain was staying in communication and the solicitors were completing thier tasks in a timely fashion. Can't really fault the experience I had with Hodsons. I must also say that the property I purchased was left in an immaculate condition and I couldn't be happier right now. I approached 6 Estate Agents in Abingdon a year ago during the height of Covid ( Only 2 Estate agents allowed me into there premises otherwise I conducted the interview on the Street ) Hodsons was one who invited me into there offices. I advised all the Estate Agents what terms of business they would offer me to sell the property only 2 advised on the spot % rates one was Hodsons ( all the others wanted to see the property first. I advised all the Estate agents I visited not to contact me again I would contact them. ( I was then inundated with calls from all Estate Agents I visited except for Hodsons because I had advised no one to contact me until I was ready to proceed. Obviously as Hodsons were the only ones to respond to my request I asked them to sell the property for me. The property was sold within 5 working days og going onto the market and I took advise from Hodsons on the purchase price negotiations bearing in mind that they had found out the exact financial position of the buyer. The House was sold and completed with 5 weeks. *Throughout the whole procedure Hodsons advised when people were visiting the property and there immediate feed back *They kept me abreast of all buyers communication regularly *All staff knew who I was when I contacted them *They immediately answered all my questions or alternatively ensured within the day I received a call back I can only sum up that Hodsons were brilliant and I would recommend them to anyone. We recently sold our house with Hodsons. From the initial valuation from Warrick through to completion, they really were excellent. We had not moved house for nearly 30 years and were a little apprehensive about the process etc. However, Warrick was always available (even on a late Sunday afternoon!) to help us. Once the sale was confirmed (within a week!) we were handed over to Jenny Philips. Jenny was amazing, she just made things happen. Just so good at her job. I really cannot praise Hodsons enough, and from the experience we had of other agents in our chain, Hodsons were just so much better - we seemed to always be able to contact someone when we needed to. I can't speak highly enough of Hodsons Abingdon and their service. Initially Warwick came out to see us for a valuation and he pointed us to a couple of homes we might like, he seemed to have an instinctive feel for what we needed even if we didn't quite know ourselves at that point. Our house sold in five days for the asking price and there were two solid offers as well as interest from other buyers so this enabled us to secure the home we had fallen in love with. We were obviously delighted! The whole Hodsons team are a dream to work with and our dealings with Nick, Christina and Jenny were all very professional, open and honest. Everyone at the Abingdon office works together and all seem very well informed so they can always help you quickly. Like any move it takes ages for all the legal stuff but Hodsons kept it all moving and we eventually moved into our new home. We love our new house so much and can't thank Warwick enough for sending us to view it initially. I wouldn't hesitate to highly recommend Hodsons in Abingdon.
