At 1st, i was a bit suspicious of renting with DJ Alexanders with the negative comments I have seen. Trying to get a viewing was difficult and i had a few appointments cancelled on the day. When i got the viewing the Property Manager Imran, explained to me why they were cancelled which is understandable. (If the LET has been agreed there is no point of continuing with the viewing.) I applied for a few properties and some I got rejected which was no part of DJ Alexander's, it was this the landlord's decision. After being accepted by a property, I have successfully moved in.When the key handover/ Check-in happened, Imran showed me how to use the heating systems and which right department to contact if there were any issues.

TrustpilotDJ Alexander let us live with mould for almost 3 years
Throughout my tenancy I consistently reported a major leak coming from our roof/ ceiling. Initially, DJ Alexander did nothing of substance about this. Later, they tried to blame us for the damp. Then they sent the cheapest contractors over, who did nothing to fix the leak. Finally, they tried painting over the black mould, despite me saying that the leak was not fixed. Finally, when they realised they had let the situation run to the point of being structurally dangerous to the building, they asked us to leave and find new accommodation.This agency isn't just bad for tenants: the owner of the property will now need to pay tens of thousands more, all because DJ Alexander refused to take our reports seriously.I would advise all landlords to leave this company immediately. There are several other competitors, and I have never had any issues with these.

We rented an apartment via DJ Alexander as property manager for two years. During our tenancy I wasn't too impressed with little regular contact and some maintenance issues not attended to. However the check-out experience managed by Alison McInnes went very smoothly and I have to credit her efficiency and the way they handled the whole process of move out, checking inventory, meters, keys, deposit etc

TrustpilotFrom competent to chaotic property management
I was initially with Broughton Property Management, who provided a great service. Knew their landlords and tenants and could be relied upon for good communication and to rectify issues in a timely manner. Then they were bought over by D.J. Alexander/Braemore. Unfortunately, my tenant has fallen into arrears. I don't want to evict them, I just want some sort of agreement made. Communication has been absolutely appalling (this episode started about 3 months ago). Emails unanswered calls ignored, and complaints poorly managed. Either staff are so overwhelmed by their workload, or there's a general apathy to small-time landlords. Time to move to a smaller, more communicative agent. They are just far too big and as a landlord, you are just a number. I would never recommend them.

I liked the way you are organised but it was a bit too much of information asked for from the guarantor’s part which made the situation very difficult for me personally asking the guarantor to provide all the private information to a company. But otherwise was ok. Sandie Whyte, who was helping with the house application process was too good, she did a great job at helping me out with additional things through constant contact she made sure we were okay. I expect that it’ll be smooth from here on. Thank you.

TrustpilotTerrifyingly bad estate agent - avoid at all cost
Horrifying experience with DJ Alexander. Unsurprising to see so many tribunal cases lodged against DJ Alexander. Customer service team was incredibly hard to get hold of and would avoid any written confirmations of telephone calls. If dealing with staff, make sure to do so via email to keep a record. No regard for tenants' safety when it comes to maintenance. Make sure to request a copy of all safety certificates when moving into the property.

This company are only interested in getting their management fees.The have zero interest in ensuring their landlords comply with current legislations.They have zero interest in the health and safety of their tenants.They don't do their due diligence on properties they take on and their customer care is non existent.The repairs and maintenance team provide a very poor service.If you value your health don't let a property from them, go to a reputable agency
