Excellent Service - Well done Jemma!

Upon viewing the property, to securing the lease, the agent (Jemma) was and continues to be extremely communicative and owned any sort of question I had. A seamless end to end journey assured me I've made the right decision to move to a property managed by DJ Alexander Aberdeen. The experience in contract to others I've talked to along the way, is miles off and lets ace it, property management is fast paced, demanding and stressful. This was never obvious when dealing with Jemma and therefore sets her aside from several others within the industry. Jemma is, in my view, a great asset to her team and the Organisation.

I really really supported and in safe hands with the team

I really felt supported and guided by Gill and Donna who were both very supportive and helpful on my journey to find and secure the right property.Gill was a supportive voice on the phone as well as via email. Donna was a great guide and reassurance source in person with show rounds and really gave me great advise and support as I really struggled initially but with their guidance and them both providing and excellent service I gained the property to make me feel, happy, safe and secure for myself and my family.

A little advice for tenants and landlords

DJ Alexander deserve 0 stars.If you are lucky enough to have the choice when moving to Edinburgh avoid at all costs.I am a renter and DJ Alexander bought out the previous letting agent (Braemore) and have taken over management of the property.For renters I would warn that they are impossible to get a hold of and good luck getting a repair done properly. To give a short anecdote; there is black mould in the property due to the seals on the windows failing. DJ Alexander sent someone out to assess the issue and they advised that their recommendation would be for the windows to be replaced. A week or so after this visit DJ Alexander closed the repair request, stating that is was "resolved". Do not expect repairs to be done. Additionally, DJ Alexander will charge you for everything they can. I have previously requested a reference confirming that I pay the rent every month and they wanted £24 for this "service". £24 pound for a 2 minute job...For landlords, I highly doubt Edinburgh is full of slum-lords so I assume agents like DJ Alexander just choose not to inform you of serious issues with the property. I understand you pay them to handle these things for you but if the property has a serious issue like the one described above their inaction is damaging your property, your investment. Hold them accountable you are the only people they will listen to.

We have recently successfully sold a property through Dj Alexander and are more than happy to leave a review.From the start of the process to the conclusion we were highly impressed with the professionalism, service culture and communication of all company staff involved.The marketing of the property was excellent and iam convinced that the efforts of the staff played a big part in us obtaining a higher price than we anticipated for the property.As overseas sellers we perhaps required a little more guidance than most and Sarah who acted as our agent was excellent throughout. She made herself available at all times to answer our queries and generally walk us through the process. In all aspects of the sale she provided us with a service above and beyond what were perhaps her duties. We would like to thank her wholeheartedly for her help with this.We would also like to thank Abby who was responsible for the staging process of the property sale. Her work was highly professional and as ive said im sure partly responsible for the sale.In sum the company, in particular the two staff mentioned, delivery what they said they would. A quick, trouble free sale during which we felt comfortable, well informed and with our best interests at the forefront of their service.

Glasgow Office- Superb

We had been looking for a flat in the west end for months and by chance a DJ Alexander property came up and we got the last viewing. In the time between booking and attending the viewing we went to 3 other viewings and nothing compared to this property but more specifically the treatment we were given by Caroline. She was fully transparent from the outset, going over the pros and cons of the apartment but in chatting to us she fully explained the process of how the decision would be made, how the referencing worked and what would happen from there. Both of us cannot express how amazing the experience with Caroline was and she has been fantastic at responding to any questions. She even took the step to phone both of us individually to share the news that we had been accepted for the flat and it was little touches like this that made the whole experience fantastic.Additionally, we dealt with Laura through the whole referencing process and she too was fantastic and really helpful and prompt in responding to emails.On a wider note, the DJ Alexander maintenance team are not the fastest, and have been the only damper on our experience due to long time logs and lack of updates. However, I must add that all engineers sent by DJ Alexander have been fantastic. I do however highly recommend the Glasgow office and especially Caroline for making finding a flat that much better of an experience.

In particular, Justyna has been superb with communication and an all-round pleasant person. She answered queries swiftly and was clear in her responses. Charging people for move out reference and deducting money from deposit without an explanation

A despicable company that I didn't even sign up with. Originally with Braemore Lettings Ltd which merged with DJ Alexander. Upon moving out numerous problems occurred. I can't even believe that for reference there is a £25 charge??? How is this allowed? Furthermore, they lost the keys I returned and I got charged for them as well. The flat was left spotless following their move-out checklist. The person who did the inspection confirmed that there shouldn't be any charges for cleaning. In the end, I got charged for cleaning as well, without any receipt or explanation of what I was charged for. Shameful behaviour. To be avoided at all costs.

Very professional services to tenants

Our previous letting agent was acquired by a new Glasgow branch shortly before our lease ended, so we were concerned about the transition. However, the handover went smoothly, and the check-out services were professional and very efficient, with clear instructions. We received our deposit back within three days of returning the keys. A special thanks to Johan Ross who handled the inventory inspection and related paperwork.
