Laura McTaggart from DJ Alexander has been a true gem during the early stages our move-in process. Her kindness and willingness to help has made the experience feel a lot more navigable, as she is incredibly efficient, addressing all our questions (which have been, on occasion, quite obvious or niche) very promptly. Laura’s support has been taking a lot of stress off our shoulders and therefore, both me and my flatmate are extremely appreciative of her work.

Wonderful service from the Edinburgh Lettings team. However, when it come to offer stage, everything was slightly mismatched and somewhat confusing for me as the person enquiring and wanting to live in the property. My offer was put forward despite being told we should wait for a document from my solicitor, being told my offer was fine and it was being sent over. I was then told it was looking like no to that property as the landlord had a lot of questions? I was not told what these questions were and absolutely no correspondence since. I can’t say my experience with the DJ Alexander Edinburgh Lettings team has been pleasant at all.

I am writing this review specifically to praise one member of DJ Alexander's staff, namely Kjartan Behm, who, over eight years, has been far and away its most honest, keen, clear, sharp, witty, helpful, and direct member of staff. Tip-top fellow.The overall company, I'm not too fond of, it has a tendency towards hefty bureaucracy, and corresponds with the stick, rather than recognizing tenants are its business and pay its bills. But at times it has some excellent staff who break through the corporatese to actually get the work done.Kjartan stands out, however, as its finest example of a man getting the job done and being a tip-top human to boot, so chapeau to him indeed.He made everything from start to finish work.

GoogleThis is our first flat rented via a letting agency. We always get an answer to any query in a timely manner. There is a smooth communication between us and our landlord and it almost feel like there is no letting agency involved which to me is the top goal for any letting agency. They are also flexible in terms of paperwork and a lot of it can be scanned and sent online. Great letting agency!

We have had 2 viewings with DJ Alexander, with Eilidh and Blair. Both have been very hospitable and walked us through the apartments to provide context and detail. This has been above and beyond any of the other letting agencies we have used. Both Eilidh and Blair were very professional and were able to answer all our questions. I have used Alexander’s for years to manage my flat I rent out in Glasgow , I have been delighted with the service and overall professional way they have dealt with everything . I recently sold my flat in Glasgow and Diane Harte was excellent in every aspect of this sale , very professional and friendly lady and I can’t recommend Alexander’s highly enough .

GoogleAVOID STONEHOUSE if you are renting a property! They will try to deduct ridiculous amounts of your deposit without explanation and stop answering emails once you leave the rented property. During my tenancy, they were pretty slow to solve minor issues. At the end of the tenancy, I paid £300 for a professional end-of-tenancy cleaning service that included carpet cleaning and a 7-day guarantee to go back and clean any issues raised after the final inventory. Some minor issues (e.g. dust on sockets) were raised. As the inventory returned within the 7-day policy, the cleaning company and I tried to contact Stonehouse (I sent several emails to Paige Wilson and even to Aileen Merchant, the managing director), and they never answered our emails and calls. They wanted to deduct £260 for "cleaning" the property. I don't believe it ever happened, as they rent the property a couple of days after we left. We had a dispute for the deposit they wanted to deduct with an independent assessor, after which we received the full deposit. It almost took five months between leaving the property and getting our full deposit back... a nightmare company! I have rented with three companies in Aberdeen, and Stonehouse is by far the worst. How they treat tenants is shameful, unprofessional and rude.
