GoogleI called them regarding a two-bedroom property, and it turned out to be one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. The person I spoke to was unbelievably rude, arrogant, and completely lacking in basic manners or professionalism. The way he spoke was harsh, dismissive, and downright disrespectful. Absolutely pathetic customer service, I’m extremely disappointed and will never contact them again.

GoogleI do not recommend Reiss Samuels. On the calls we had with the agent, he was constantly ranting about how students weren’t reliable, and backed out of deals as if we had done that. It made the process of negotiation really unpleasant. Secondly, we received many calls at any random times, without consideration of our own personal situations. When we didn’t reply he would come back and rant about our seriousness, as if we had nothing else to do but to immediately reply to his calls. He acts as if he was entitled to our time and his behaviour is unacceptable.

GoogleI wouldn't recommend looking for a property with this estate agent. I can't speak for other members or experiences, but we worked exclusively with a team member called Sam.
Throughout the process, my group felt that he was rude, pressuring and verbally intense towards us. We felt there was little concern with our actual search and more with trying to get us to quickly commit, and pressuring us to do so. I'd definitely recommend looking for properties through other sites like OpenRent and working with landlords directly wherever possible, or at least with an alternative agency.
Edit: Around five hours after posting this review, the agent in question text to tell me he was going to contact my university. He also clarified that it was the landlord who declined us when we did not pay the deposit within a few hours of asking to begin the process of signing for a house, not himself.
In light of this fact, it still does not change how myself or others felt pressured and intimidated directly by the agent.

TrustpilotDO NOT RENT WITH REISS SAMUELS- THEY…
DO NOT RENT WITH REISS SAMUELS- THEY LEFT US HOMELESS IN ORDER TO MAKE MORE MONEY. The managing director was possibly the best example of abhorrent customer service. He is the most unprofessional individual I have ever encountered, and I cannot fathom any of these positive reviews about him, due to what he personally, and Reiss Samuels as a company subjected myself, and multiple other students who were seeking tenancy to.
Our documents for our tenancy has been signed for months, we were preparing to move in before the university term started, and we received a call from the managing director accusing my guarantor of not sending in their documents. Bear in mind that we had signed the tenancy agreement months prior, and we would not have been able to do this without all necessary documents having been sent in. He was very hostile and aggressive over the phone, and this was not this first time. I personally know at least 5 other students whose parents he had spoken to threateningly and in vile tones to over the phone when they called to ask questions about the move in process. In this instance I witnessed it first hand. When my guarantor expressed concern that his personal documents had been lost by the company, he actually hung up on him. He then called back and when asked about his inappropriate and unnecessary tone, and why he hung up the phone, he proceeded to tell us that due to our behaviour he felt he had to cancel the tenancy, rendering us without a house for the upcoming year.
He was very egotistical and I believe the extent of his aggression was due to my guarantor not cowering down and being afraid to question the whereabouts of his documents, making him incredibly defensive and enraged his authority was being queried, which led us to believe he had actually lost the documents and was in the wrong, otherwise there would be no need for him to be so aggressively defensive.
As it turns out, before our contract had even officially been terminated and all of our money returned to us, the house was back on the market for an extra £400 a month. So at this point I’m sure you can imagine what had happened, the company has accused us of not providing them with all the documents, in order to have an excuse to cancel our tenancy so they could put the house back on the market for more money, as we had signed the documents so long ago that our rent which was already (£5250 a month), was low in comparison to what they thought they could get with the current market prices.
However, despite this horror story and the stress it entailed, we managed to find a much nicer house, for over £1000 cheaper a month with JACK BARCLAY ESTATES, who were infinitely more pleasurable to work with, and for what it’s worth I couldn’t be happier to be rid of any contact with Reiss Samuels and the managing director himself after this whole ordeal!
UPDATE: if this review has not already convinced you to never rent with Reiss Samuels, let me update it in regards to an email I received this evening from the admin manager, in response to my review, stating they have involved a solicitor due to my defamation against their business. The review is an honest and true review of my experience with them, and rather than professionally accepting criticism and striving to do better as a company, they have responded with more threats towards me, which is not the first time I have seen this response from them, so it seems to be a reoccurring theme within the company. It also makes me question whether or not they contact all clients who dare post a negative review, with the threat of suing them, in order to make them remove their post and maintain their reputation as a company. Just like the managing director’s aggression over the phone, this feels like another defensive attack, and perhaps if they were more gracious and appropriate in the way they conducted themselves and spoke to their clients, people would not leave such damaging yet honest reviews. And if they had read this review and apologised for the stress they put us through and the disgusting manner in which we were treated, and taken this review as a sign they need to do better, as I would expect of any reputable and professional company, rather than respond with a threat about my defamatory comments, I would be less inclined to update my review and continue to show prospective clients who Reiss Samuels are and how they treat people.
My aim is simply to ensure no other prospective buyers or tenants are subject to the same awful treatment.

Firstly the landlord gave three extensions for the guarantor/guarantors to complete the reference process which included filling in application forms and providing documentation. All confirmed in writing. The prospective tenants were well organised no issues there.
On the 3rd March i convinced the landlord to give your guarantor additional time for his paperwork to come through which he agreed to do. This is all confirmed in writing
On the 2nd June
Email sent to everyone confirmed that your guarantors deed of guarantee letter had not been received and the landlord confirmed if the deed does not arrive by the 9th June in ( 7 days time ) then the landlord will be contacting you directly Tegan to discuss you paying the last 6 months rent in advance and removing your guarantor. Deed of guarantee letters were emailed out on the 3rd April. This is all confirmed in writing
All the other three guarantors deed of guarantee letters arrived prior to this
On the 3rd June
Your guarantor called us accusing us of misplacing the deed of guarantee letter. When your guarantor was asked to provide evidence for example recorded delivery, tracking number this could not be provided as he had sent it via normal post and your guarantor was advised to contact royal mail. Your guarantor still had till the 9th June to send or resend the deed of guarantee letter attached with a copy of his birth certificate or passport.
Your guarantor then said he will not be resending the deed attached with a passport copy or birth certificate as it had been lost in the post and we already had a copy of his passport. This was the final straw the landlord gave the instruction for the holding deposit to be refunded back on the grounds that your guarantor refused to supply the documentation he required. There was no way forward with this, taking into consideration previous delays with documentation.
The property was remarketed and due to the landlord having only a few houses left in his portfolio of a similar size it was rented for hundreds of pounds more a month. Other tenants that paid the same rental amount agreed with yourselves for similar houses in the same development have already moved in and others are due to move in soon.
Your claiming you were left homeless in order for us to make more money, your comments are defamatory and completely false. If this was said to be true then certain individuals would have not been given three extension dates for the reference process to be completed and your guarantor would most certainly not have been given 7 days to provide the deed of guarantee letter.
Our instructions are crystal clear in writing from the outset and a lot of repetitive emails are sent explaining the same. If a prospective tenant or guarantor fails to follow the procedures in the time frame outlined then most certainly the prospective tenants run the risk of losing the property, we have a business to run this cannot be left open ended for prospective tenants and guarantors to decide to send or not send documentation when they please there is a process to follow.
You say your aim is simply to ensure no other prospective buyers or tenants are subject to the same awful treatment. In reply to that if a prospective tenant wishes to rent a property through us they must follow the processes outlined in the email sent to them prior to a holding deposit being paid and stated on the holding deposit contract prior to the reference process starting, if not its best they don’t move forward with any properties Reiss-Samuels have to offer.
Tegan all your guarantor had to do is send or resend the deed of guarantee letter attached with a copy of the passport or birth certificate within 7 days and there would have been no issue and you would have moved in the property.
We will be writing to you again

Aggressive and not helpful. Shame because we would have put an offer otherwise
Edit:
Seems like owner has me confused in his reply for someone else as my flatmates did not call him and would love to live in Canada Water. A good showing of competency (and grammar) which I hope you will all enjoy. As for you my dear owner, perhaps reconsider writing reviews at 1am so that you can avoid confusing your clients.

Mr Sabathier,
You called us this morning on a overseas number and requested to view one of our houses in Canary Wharf.
When the question was asked how you were going to view today as you are abroad you mentioned your other friends were going to view and you were just arranging the viewings. We asked you to then contact your friends and get them to call us who are actually in London which they did and confirmed they only want to live in West London and not in Canary Wharf this is East London. The gentlemen who called had no idea why you were booking in viewings for Canary Wharf and said this was not the first time you were attempting to arrange viewings in areas they did not wish to live and we replied sorry we don't have any properties in West London currently and left it at that
Mr Sabathier you were called back by us out of courtesy and the question was put forward why you are you are attempting to arrange property viewings for a area where none of your friends wish to live your response was it had nothing to do with us and why we were asking so many questions and being rude and a customer has a right to view any properties they wish to.
Reiss-Samuels response is no i am afraid you do not have the right to view what ever property you wish to view we qualify individuals before arranging viewing and i am sorry to say that even your friends disagree with your choice of area
Sounds like a internal problem to us so we will leave you to it to arrange viewings for areas around London where your friends do not wish to live.
So to sum this up your abroad arranging property viewings for your friends to view, who don't wish to view properties in the area your arranging viewings for.
If you would like to discuss the matter further please contact info@reiss-samuels.com with your full name and the property you enquired about

GoogleVery rude agent, when I read the bad reviewes about them before I called them, I said it might not be true. However, it is very true that they are very rude and impolite,on my first contact, the agent is telling me that we are very tired to explain things to you which is so rude. It seems he was already angry with something. That's a shame!

I was in the rental market and contacted numerous estate agents. Almost all took my details, what I was looking for and said 'would get back to me'. None did, except Reiss-Samuels Not only did they get back to me but literally within days took me on a tour of 6 properties that matched the description of what I was looking for, and answered all the questions I had. I was very impressed with the service offered and would recommend them to anyone.

TrustpilotUncaring, unprofessional, arrogant and lazy....and that's just a start!
The question is where do I start?Having dealt with around a dozen letting and real estate agents I can say this small little outfit is by far the worst and in fact probably one of the worst companies I have had to deal with from any industry. They manage what can be quite a complex process yet have absolutely no interest in either doing any work themselves or assisting their clients within the process. The concept of client service is entire alien to them. The Admin Manager is almost a caricature of the lazy, unprofessional, disinterested, disorganised and believe it or not, vindictive administration nightmare from the movies, yet she exists in real life!Upon making a complaint to the Managing Director not only was I met with the same uncaring indifference, but to punish me for daring to make a complaint the aforementioned Admin Manager then made the decision to strike me off as a guarantor for a 4 person let, suggesting I clearly didn't want to go through with it, which was a completely fabricated conclusion. In case you think it was merely my fault or lack of attention to detail. 2 Other parties within this 4 person let, also fell afoul of the admin demon who enjoyed nothing more than simply pointing out small print within long contracts and poorly written emails. There was no question of helping, we were the enemy of course! But it gets better, when we finally did get the chance to speak to the owner of the property we discovered that many of the issues we encountered were the making of the agent and not the owner. It may be that all of us were imbeciles with unrealistic expectations or it may be that Reiss Samuels is the worst real estate agency in the UK.AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!If you are the owner you will limit your clientele and ultimately reduce your return on your investment. If you are the buyer/renter you will turn what should be an exciting process into a complex, nightmarish experience that will spoil your enjoyment of your new home.P.S. The only reason I waited 2 months to write this review was because the tenants are now paying the landlord directly (I was notified today) and I was worried that if I wrote it before then, it might put my daughter's place in the house in jeopardy. That probably speaks more than anything about the way Reiss Samuels operates.

I had heard from other tenants that he was aggressive but didn't believe so until i had a call and was shocked at how rudely I was spoken to, with no regard for basic customer service or respect.
