TrustpilotAmazing team at Raunds
We have recently sold through the Raunds branch, who have been absolutely brilliant! The girls there are professional, caring and are really nice people too. When it looked like our chain was going to collapse and things got tense, they took control and got the house sold. Highly recommend the Raunds branch. Tracey and her team are amazing :)

TrustpilotAbsolutely shocking customer service
Absolutely shocking the way they treat customers. The initial meeting was good, but the minute you sign on the dotted line for them to sell your property, it all goes downhill from there.Three times I had to tell them I didn't want accompanied viewings (I worked in new homes for 14 years, so I think I know how to sell a house!) and someone would "be on their way"!!!!I felt that the staff were patronising, and couldn't really be bothered. In the end I changed agents to get a better service (of which I did) but in the end one of the original viewers made an offer, so we were reverted back to WHB.The sales chasing was hit and miss, even our solicitor said he didn't know who was representing us for the first few weeks!!The straw that broke the camels back was the email I received a week before we completed from Amanda, to say that they had referred us to the debt collection part of WHB and they wanted us to pay ASAP! I rang and asked the member of staff to get Amanda to ring me as we had not yet completed on the sale!!!!No one ever called, not to apologise for their mistake, but also to tell us we had completed!Discusting way to treat customers. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

TrustpilotCross Gate ……. Clowns
Selling a house through cross gates Leeds. I can only say do not use these clowns. Sent me a contract note out with wrong solicitors. Emailed back twice to two different people in office Beth, Daniel then 3 weeks later received a call asking why solicitors have done nothing. The simple answer is they have not updated the documents to confirm my solicitor, so now we have lost three weeks due to their incompetence. Stay clear.

This Estate Agents is by far the worst in Harwich. I had to take it away from then after not far short of 1.5 years of trying to sell it. The lies and the rubbish coming out of there mouths was unbelievable. Anyway I won't go into it to much, be careful people stay well clear. Glad to see the back of them.

Very poor service from the Scunthorpe branch, I was convinced to sell (or attempt to) my property through the modern auction process, PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE, the communication and feedback from the auction team and the Scunthorpe WHB team was diabolical, after 4 months I gave up with them, even then they did not acknowledge my email or offer any form of apology for the poor service.

The crystal peaks branch in Sheffield had been incredibly helpful even after moving out of their address whenever I need a bit of support with admin things - Matthew Wolff in particular has been very supportive recently and couldn't be recommended enough!

TrustpilotNo customer service.
I made an enquiry by email on a property in Norfolk over the weekend. I had two calls that terminated when I answered. The third time, I had a young lady who sounded as though she was in a call centre. She knew nothing about the property, failed to answer any of the written questions provided in advance of my call by email, put me on hold when I asked to be transferred to an estate agent, and then terminated the call. I doubt they’ll ever sell this property if this is the height of the service provided.

TrustpilotFrom rising damp to black mould
From rising damp to black mould, their response was to clean the gutters and that was it. Needless to say it returned every few months. We had no boiler for the last 3 months from December to April, in a house that the back windows are single glazed. We was provided 1 small heater to heat the whole house and given £100 rent reduction for this which is absolutely disgusting. Apart from Tom staff are argumentative and sarcastic. All round bad experience.

TrustpilotService, what service?
My wife is selling her house in Northampton and yesterday eang to arrange a valuation. She suspects the call was handled by someone in a call centre: he knew nothing about the town, never mind the area and ignored anything she said about a suitable appointment time. He was condescending and missing both his ears. He then said they would need an hour and half to do the valuation ( a 2 up 2 down terraced) at which point she said thanks but no thanks.

TrustpilotRental property management
So after meeting with a few local estate agents to where my rental property is located I chose to go with William Brown (Mexborough) with their full management package. My very first meeting being with the lettings manager Bev Hughes, arrived promptly on time, kind, professional approachable & very knowledgeable. Advised me on a very realistic figure I would achieve / time scale property would take to be let, and once again came through with no issues.Following on property being looked after by, Ellie Squire another one of the team really setting the bar high for this firm, prompt with emails/calls takes her time to listen and not rush you off calls followed by appropriate action when needed, very happy with Ellie & her approach! So in nutshell both named team members above are a pleasure to have looking after my property. A real credit to William Brown, Thank you Mo

TrustpilotDisappointed in Holderness Road Hull Branch
My daughter purchased a property through the Holderness Road Hull Office, although staff were initially very helpful, Charlotte became very rude to me because I didn’t want to use their solicitor they recommended, they were going to charge £1200 + for the conveyancing. It is obvious she was going to get a commission from it and when I quoted other solicitor prices she became defensive, got very angry and told me to stop talking and listen to her, when I said, don’t talk to me like that she put the phoned down on me. Totally unprofessional. They also blamed our new solicitor for holding things up, admittedly they were very slow but the sellers solicitor had only sent part of a document our solicitor requested, but WH Browns staff didn’t want to know about this. They kept saying the seller was angry and frustrated at the delay but if her solicitor had sent the full document in the first place it may have progressed quicker. All in all I would not recommend WH Browns.

TrustpilotThe vendor has lost many thousands
Viewed a property, offered asking price, advised that there were 2 other offers, we were prepared to offer more. Vendor wanted time to consider offers. We were then told that they had accepted another offer. We were not given the option to make another offer. Then I received a copy of the email to the buyers whose offer had been accepted - a very unacceptable and unprofessional mistake. There seems to have been no duty of care to the vendor to obtain a better price.

I’m not sure whether we would have secured our new home without her. We are extremely grateful.

TrustpilotPontefract branch Very untrustworthy, something untoward going on here
They put an house up for sale on the 29th March(Easter Friday) they were closed until, the Tuesday and the property was not sold,I had visited the property to view externally on Easter Sunday so made an offer without internally viewing which I was happy about,I offered over the asking price, they said I needed to view so tried to arrange a viewing for the next day they then called up and said they have had another offer and the vendor has gone with that one,I was willing to go a lot higher but it looks like WH Brown staff have forced this other sale through for some reason,I will b3 reporting it to the trading standards for estate agents and the Ombudsman has I feel there are some dirty dealings going on with the Pontefract branch, this will be investigated and the truth exposed,if a potential buyer has offered more and was willing to go higher then how can the estate agent push through a sale especially after the house has been on the market a few days over the Easter period,WH Brown head office should be asking questions of their Pontefract branch staff, watch this space

Excellent advice and support from day 1 to completion. Lee Dillon and Ash Moakes were outstanding. I cannot recommend them highly enough. They gave the highest valuation which was also achieved of three estate agents we asked to appraise the property.

TrustpilotGood and not so good
On the plus side, in the early days mid-2023, WHB got the ball rolling quickly and I felt confident I'd picked a decent estate agent. They supplied viewings a matter of days after my house was listed for sale, often two or three a week, though this tailed off as the year went by. I eventually sold my house in 2024 after asking WHB to reduce the asking price they'd recommended. The flip side of my experience is that, apart from marketing the property, I'm not sure what they brought to the party to warrant their high fee. I had to lead all the viewings as the staff they sent to accompany prospective buyers were very pleasant but, understandably, didn't know my house and therefore couldn't do much to enthuse buyers or answer any factual questions about it. I received very little feedback from WHB about the comments of the people who had viewed my property; I felt feedback from them would have been very useful. Also, WHB told me about what was said to be an unhelpful attitude of two buyers who were keen to sell their own house through WHB and buy mine. This conflicted with what the buyers told me. That concerned me as the buyers in question came across as straight and down to earth people. Why the different versions of events? Then, when it came to finding me a short-term rental property, a key piece of information I needed wasn't shared with me. When I queried this, WHB argued it was something I would be expected to know. Isn't it the estate agent's job to ensure their clients are fully informed? I emailed WHB and requested evidence that this information had been shared with me but no response was forthcoming to show they were right. Anyway, I've given three stars as, having spoken to friends about their own house moving experiences, I reckon WHB are little different from many other estate agents - a mix of good and not so good. Selling through WHB wasn't an awful experience for me at all, though it wasn't great either.
