Very poor.

Very poor. Cancelled an appointment twice due to head office not communicating with branch. Branch rescheduled appointment and then canceled on the day saying the agent was ill. This same agent was cancelled earlier this year due to hospitalization of a child. There is no spare capacity in the Doncaster branch. Whilst I sympathise with the the agents plight, it is the branch and the manager at fault. A very busy scheduled day had to be changed.

I was the winning bidder for the property and, following the auction which ibs iamsold I was taking steps to arrange the required mortgage documentation and obtain my Agreement in Principle (AIP). There was initially some delay because I later became aware that the relevant person was away on holiday. Importantly, the auctioneer instructed me by telephone to wait until I had obtained my AIP before paying the Reservation Fee. I relied on this instruction and understood that I was following the process as advised by the auctioneer. At no point was I informed that my winning bid had been cancelled and was sold .I only became aware of this when I followed up with the agent yesterday and was told that the property had already been offered to the second bidder. I am therefore concerned that the property was offered to another bidder without giving me any prior notice or opportunity to proceed, particularly when I had been following the auctioneer’s specific instruction regarding the Reservation Fee. I acted in good faith throughout the process and relied on the information and instructions provided to me by the auctioneer. I did not withdraw my bid or indicate that I was unwilling or unable to proceed. I feel really frustrated about this , no proper communication.

There is one in Wakefield which I have recently experienced and quite frankly it’s the worst I’ve experienced. They are fine with you calling them but when you email them, they don’t respond and this makes a mockery of the customer which is extremely disappointing. Sometimes I just want to call them and tell it how it is or walk in the branch physically, only problem it’s busy times during the week and weekends….need to step up and improve honestly…..the complaints protocol is woeful and abysmal to say the least. Put this through twice and no joy unfortunately. Terrible….

Don’t even bother always been the same that’s why get through so many staff….

Well went to view a property. Put an offer in and they said they went having a think about.. vendor )to find out another viewing the next day. Bad experience. Told me they would phone me in the morning had to chase all too much effort. Wisbech branch Buying and selling it’s hard enough without having poor estate agents saying one thing. Then doing another.

Dan Barker at Hoddesdon branch

Thank you to Dan Barker and the team at Hoddesdon. The process of buying a property can be stressful, but they kept me informed throughout and were always available to answer any questions or help with any concerns I had. Their communication was excellent, and I really appreciated how approachable and supportive they were.

Property Viewings

We have viewed several properties via North Walsham & Aylsham branches. I can recommend Evie who showed us around two properties in North Walsham. She was polite, professional, friendly, knowledgeable and helped us to negotiate an offer which was accepted. I have only given 4 stars as we have not completed as yet, but the communication with the North Walsham team has so far been excellent. Must mention the Aylsham Branch too. They have been helpful organising viewings with excellent communication and Emerson was so helpful and professional.

Team at Oakwood Leeds will do for me.

Team at Oakwood Leeds were good from start to finish with our sale. Viewings arranged as soon as it was on the market and serious offers received immediately. George, Nathaniel and Ayesha were friendly, polite and responsive throughout and, to be fair, I'm not easily impressed but they worked well with me. No complaints.

We sold our Cheshire property through Savills and were delighted with the service. Since moving to Yorkshire we’ve been dealing with Jennifer and the team at the York office who have been excellent and very proactive in sourcing potential properties for us. There are lots of good independent estate agents in the area but only Savills and one other agent have been proactive in supporting our search. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Savills if you’re looking to sell or buy a property.

Anne Luby has been amazing from the very beginning. She took the time to arrange regular Teams meetings, which made the whole experience feel much more personal. As a first time buyer, I had absolutely no idea where to start and was a complete novice who felt out of her depth, but Anne guided me through every step of the process.

I have just re registered with them (2nd time) on the back of a complaint due to lack of communication re properties which I had to give them information for type of property required and budget (felt exhausting). Why did this company remove me from their mailing list after 3 years without my consent, it’s unacceptable. There needs to be a more fair and respectful process and they just left me hanging. Also discovered they’re a franchise company so that explains why they treat the public like trash…..need to improve their service for sure…..

WH Brown in Oakwood

WH Brown in Oakwood, Leeds in my opinion, are the most unprofessional, detached, disinterested estate agents. As this was my very first experience as a seller, I expected some excellent service, being that they are a long time agent in the LS8 area, but it has completely exhausted and severely affected my wellbeing due to my personal circumstances for selling the house. The Manager of the Branch, I feel can be quite dismissive and arrogant, he doesn't give the impression of someone acting in the client's best interest. I would not recommend this estate agent to anyone thinking of selling or buying a property with them

Absolutely horrendous service

Absolutely horrendous service, all talk and no follow-through. We were visited by the Rotherham branch and given a very convincing sales pitch about their ‘exceptional service’, how they were different from other estate agents, and the added value they would provide. This included signposting us to appropriate properties, meeting their mortgage brokers and giving us advice on putting offers in on other properties, none of this happened or was even pursued despite this being raised to them. Unfortunately, once the contract was signed, the promises seemed to disappear along with the communication. Despite requiring to pay more for their services than other agents, we’ve had very limited viewings over a period of months, with very little evidence of proactive work being done on our behalf. They are clearly incompetent. Trying to contact them is an ordeal in itself, getting through to anyone on the phone is incredibly difficult, and when we do manage to speak to someone, we’re repeatedly told they’ll call us back and apologies offered. But this doesn’t translate into anything. We’ve had to conduct the majority of viewings ourselves, which has been extremely inconvenient. The viewings that have been arranged have included cancellations, no-shows and buyers who were clearly inappropriate for the property. The explanations are always the same every time you do get hold of them. Staff are on holiday, staff are off sick, someone will call us back, someone will look into it. But there is very little follow-through. What makes this even more frustrating is that we’ve received better advice, communication and support from the agents representing properties we’ve simply gone to view than we have from the agent we are supposed to be paying to sell our home. We are genuinely angry that we didn’t check the reviews more carefully before signing up. The initial sales pitch was impressive, but our experience since signing the contract has been completely different. In our experience, this has been all talk and no action. If you’re considering using this estate agent, we would encourage you to choose someone else who has the capacity and competency to deliver.

Being lied to and treated like an idiot

At first great but towards the end getting our deposit back was disgusting , being told the deposit scheme people do not have a number and we can’t call them , to finding out we can and they do 15 days later still no despot back , they deducted money for left over furniture at our old house but can’t provide an invoice for this , got promised we would have it back and it’s left there accounts department and we will receive it by 4-6pm it’s now 20:39 and still no deposit back . We have been lied to and been given miss led information by Spalding branch and I find it truly disrespectful 24 calls to there branch over 48 hours 2 voicemails and 3 emails and 72 hours later we finally got a reply .

Please save yourself the heartache and…

Please save yourself the heartache and the frustration and do not use W H Brown Wakefield. In 20 weeks we have had two people view the property, we have dropped the price by £50k and yesterday attempted to call the branch 20 times following 3 email's regarding the termination of our contract with them. This follows appalling communication throughout. We issued formal notification 13 days and have not even had any acknowledgement. When asked what they could do to try and get more interest in the property they decided the best course of action for a bungalow that had been owned by a 96 year old was a TikTok video... not really the demographic that would be interested. We had two properties to sell following bereavements. The other property is sold and completed a week ago and went on the market two weeks after this one with a different estate agent. Today they finally sent a letter and said if we want to let it or put it back on the market to let them know as they would be happy to relist. I on the other hand would rather scream into the abyss. Save your money and your sanity and avoid.

PLEASE STEER WELL CLEAR!!

Poor communication, false promises from sales, lettings and mortgage services. Started off great but once they've had your money they don't care about resolving any issues. Don't bother with the lifetime membership as you'll have to do all the work yourself. Don't bother with management services for letting a property either, they won't tell you about any problems and they'll let your tenants damage your property and steal from you without any reconciliation measures or compensation. I sold my flat over a year ago and I'm still battling with them and the Zero Deposit scheme to compensate me for my property being stolen and damage that I paid to fix for the new owner out of my own pocket. PLEASE STEER CLEAR, SAVE YOURSELF A HEADACHE!!

Ollie Aston flat inspection

This Morning I had Ollie Aston attend my flat for an annual inspection. He was on time as agreed. He took photos for Landlord and was a very pleasant with his customer communication during the visit. I raised a few questions which I hope to hear back. I wish him the success in his employ and rate 5 star service. Overall have dealt with WHB for 6 years always been of a high standard.

I would not trust these people

I would not trust these people, I emailed them to arrange a viewing on a tenanted property, no contact, after a couple of days I called them to arrange a viewing for same property, straight away the sales person tried steering me to another property instead, but I held firm, they said they would get back to me with an appointment, they never did, it’s now sold. They have preferred investors waiting in the background, other sectors would not get away with it.

Utterly useless and Unprofessional

We decided to use W H Brown Barnsley after assuming a large established company would work well for us, how wrong were we! 1st viewing neither viewer or agent showed up, no call or explanation. After ringing the office and getting shouted over when trying to speak, we were assured this wouldn't happen again. Next day 2 more viewers again no agent in site, kept waiting for over 40 mins. Rang the office to be told agent was running late, they never came! Fortunately we were within the 14 day cooling off period and after reading the reviews on here we decided to cancel. Next day my husband is getting calls threatening us with court action if we sell to any of the buyers they put forward, bearing in mind we only have there names, no personal details and they never even set foot in the house, which wasn't even listed online yet! Absolutely disgraceful behaviour. When a company is ran solely on making money and hitting targets you know youve chosen the wrong one. Please people DO NOT USE W H BROWN. These reviews say it all.

All I can say is they are shocking

All I can say is they are shocking. They have a brilliant sales pitch to get you hook on using them to sell your property then once you agree the service they provide goes downhill from there. 99% of the viewings are time wasters as they are not vetted before viewing that they are even interested or proceedable to purchase. They promise open house viewing days but have never once done anything like that. Communication is poor and I'm always chasing them for everything. You get sent offers you accept them then they say the buyer has lowered their offer will you accept it.

Absolutely outstanding service from the ladies at Savills. I’d like to take a moment to sing the praises of Emily Bell. Not only did she do an outstanding job of selling our house but she found us our forever home (which we never would have looked at because we thought it was out of budget!) A genuinely lovely, kind woman. Super responsive (putting up with my endless emails, calls and texts even on her days off!) Super patient (chain of 7! Put up with my tantrums and stressy moments!). I genuinely could not recommend Emily and the Savills team in York. Oh and they also sold our house for £15,000 more than the estimate of another local estate agent! 10/10, wouldn’t buy or sell with anyone else after such an amazing experience. Thank you so much!

Recently purchased a house in York that was listed with Savills. Due to unforeseen and uncontrollable circumstances, the process was quite protracted; despite this, the professional, engaging and supportive approach from Jennifer in particular helped keep it on track. Jennifer was extremely patient with us in helping to arrange viewings and surveys etc, and never made us feel like a burden, despite the fact that I'm sure we were at least occasionally inconvenient! :) Could not recommend Savills and Jennifer more highly.
