TrustpilotTerrible customer service
I was repeated called, texted and emailed by Adele at the pontefract office to sell my home with them in their Boxing Day sale. I did message to say I had sold my property and did they have any houses coming up in my area to buy up to £300k - zero response. A perfect house came up for sale with them in our area on the Boxing Day sale but was also up for sale with Strike and they could not be bothered to tell me so guess who sold it Strike!

TrustpilotConcerning lack of accuracy
We attempted to purchase a property through the Swaffham branch which was described as having equestrian facilities. The property turns out to be subject to various undisclosed restrictions and clauses that prevent its use for keeping horses. After we pulled out of the purchase and disclosed these issues to WHB, the property was re-marketed without any amendment to the listing. We presume this is a deliberate attempt to mislead future buyers into thinking this is a viable equestrian property.

If I could give a nil score I would!Huddersfield branch: Misleading staff Read the T&C very carefully (you don’t get your photos fee refunded if you don’t use the conveyancing company they get commission from!)They Lost a house key!Even worse gave a viewer the house keys unaccompanied….shocking service leaving house vulnerable and ultimately the occupant..Steer well clear..

TrustpilotLet down with no explanation.
I called to book a valuation, arranged for 3 days later. After waiting half hour I called to check arrival time. They said they had no record of it (yes, definitely right company). That's it. No apology, no offer to rearrange. Will take my business elsewhere, not a great start if they can't even schedule an appointment.

TrustpilotNorthampton Branch l
Booked a viewing with them on a house as soon as it was posted (Saturday). Asked for earliest viewing which was Monday afternoon. Got there and they were a no show. A couple that were hanging around to view said they called and apparently the house was unavailable. Apparently the agency had "tried" to call the couple but there phone was off, and had "tried" to call us but number wasnt recognised. Definitely avoiding this agency from now on

TrustpilotThis estate agents are by far worst I…
This estate agents are by far worst I have come across...they have absolutely NO back office...selling the house is one thing but how they manage the sale after that it quite simply dreadful..the lack of communication..total and utter negligence in handling forms ..they are truly all over the place and have cost me thousands in interest payments..they recommend cheap paralegals to the buyers to handle the legal side of things and its only at the last moment a solicitor actually looks at the case and then comes up with an abundance of new enquiries which causes huge delays...1 of my buyers took 13 weeks to get a survey..another had waited so long had to ring the mortgage company themselves to found out the bank had been trying to get hold of whb broker for 3 weeks!! To confirm a simply address...another buyers help to buy form took 6 weeks to get right..and on and on the failings happened!! every single one of my buyers did not have one good word to say about this outfit ..not one! They simply cannot manage the aftersales if you do anything this year DO NOT use this office it will cost you money in the long run there are plenty of good reliable estate agents out there that keep you updated ..track all paperwork ..acutely fill out forms..and more importantly spend the time to make sure forms have been recieved and are correct all the stuff you would expect from a professional company of which this is not!..trust me when I say this they have cost me 1000s in interest payments due to negligence and My company will NEVER use them again you have been warned!Steve StindersCeo Stinders Construction ltd

TrustpilotProbably the worst experience i have…
Probably the worst experience i have had buying houses. If you are a seller that want toi was told offer was not accepted one day, next day i received a call saying to send my document as my offer was accepted before and encouraged to use solicitor through sequence (solicitors who are not responsive, ignore emails and never reply back to you) while, all these was going on. i receive a further call that the seller was ringing everyone who has viewed the property to give their final offer. Why would you let me engage your solicitor or told me my offer was accepted when you are still in the bidding stage? I will try avoid this agent every opportunity i get. surprise to see that the same offer i gave is what is being paraded as what the b=property is being sold for online £47k if it is, then this is borderline fraudulent and not getting the person who is being repossessed the best chance.also when i made my complain known, The lady who address my complain made no effort whatsoever to understand what aspect i was not happy about (i was unbothered if you get a higher offer as when it comes to corporate sales thats the goal). i was not pleased with the service provided.

TrustpilotWH Brown's third parties let them down
I can NOT recommend WH Brown DEREHAM. They would have taken 3 weeks to market my property after I paid £135 for a marketing pack so I cancelled and sold in 3 days with another local agency. The agency that WH Brown use for photography took 2 weeks for a photographer to phone then could not fit me in for 1 week (hence the 3 week wait to market. WH Brown offered to take the photos after I paid £135 for a photographer). When I cancelled with WH Brown (WH Brown advised the photography agency; I told the photographer directly), I got a call from another photographer a week later. It gets worse: the company WH Brown use for the EPC survey sent me a text message to confirm my appointment, which does not say that the link provided only works 9-5 (not an online booking system but a chat line!) so that was a waste of my data on my PAYG (cannot type the incomprehensible link on a PC). 1 minute later another text arrived with an appointment for the following day. So I phoned to confirm the booking. No-one arrived but 9pm that night I got a different text with another date advising I would be charged a fee if I did not attend this time (and it was them who did not show up). A week after WH Brown advised the company our contract was cancelled I got another appointment date by text. I still have not been refunded the £135 by WH Brown after six weeks and twice chasing them. If you are wondering why they have a great rating on another review site: customers who cancel their contract do not get the offer to post a review on the other review site.

TrustpilotI sold my house recently in West…
I sold my house recently in West Yorkshire - the process, in having my house valued to it being placed on the market, arranging viewings was seamless. WH Brown ensured they took care of it all. All viewings were vetted and I was kept up to date as much as I needed. The sale of my house was quick and I was supported by the branch manager in the purchase of my new home in a different part of England. Michelle and Louise are an asset and I would highly recommend W H Brown to both sellers and purchasers.

TrustpilotEvery department is useless.
I cannot even begin to describe the terrible experiences that I have had with this company. The mortgage broker service, the lettings service and even the managers are absolutely useless (Colchester branch). I made a complaint and they didn't even investigate the correct claim. The manager, with whom I spoke to for over half an hour, clearly didn't listen to a word I said. Steer clear of every department! They offered me £100 to refer a friend but they couldn't pay me any amount to put anyone else through the stress I had from dealing with this estate agent.

TrustpilotWH Brown Dereham
WH Brown Dereham. Waste of time and full of rubbish! would not recommend to anyone. When I first meet with the sales team everything was what I wanted, good communication and helpful. After I signed the contract that was it! Didn’t hear from anyone. Had photos taken 5 days later and 14days after this I had to contact them to see what was happening, 4 days later and 2 more calls I was told I had cancelled the appointment and they needed to be taken again. When they eventually found them the photos were TERRIBLE I paid £120 for something I could do with a mobile phone in 5 mins. After this IWas unhappy with the service and asked to terminate. They were happy to do this and apologised for this. Then they send a letter saying I still have to abide by their contact for 4-6 months. Why should I be held to a contract when they haven’t done anything to uphold their side!?! Have complained and will go through the ombudsman.

TrustpilotPeterborough Branch. Rubbish for sales , great for letting
Peterborough Cowgate Branch. This review relates to the sales team. The lettings team are very good. The sales team could not organise a drinking session in a brewery. I wont bore you with a list of the woeful errors, oversights and cock ups but the worst was their mistakes resulted in my property not being properly listed for over 2 months. As you will have to do all the work yourself, save yourself the minimum £2k WHB will charge, and list it yourself through the likes of 'Doorsteps' for just £99.

TrustpilotPossibly the worse letting agents in the world
I'd give them zero stars if that were an option. The letting agents are two-faced, unreliable, dishonest, unpleasant, and only out for money. They are thoroughly nasty human beings. They change your energy supplier to one they prefer (without your consent) and tell your current supplier that you're leaving them. Then you are charged at the highest rate and they won't sort the problem out. That's just ONE of the many, many, many problems with them. AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE!

TrustpilotAvoid as they don't take notice of emails or phone calls unless it suits them.
Tried several times by email and phone to get their Clacton-on-Sea office to stop sending me emails about new lettings staff.1) I have not given them permission to use my name, address or phone number as I have never contacted them.2) I did contact a company called Connels who used to occupy the same office.3) I don't have any property to rent out. They just ignore my requests to stop contacting me.I dread to think what they would be like if I asked them to rent out one of my properties or to sell one of them.Avoid, they don't listen.

TrustpilotWilliam Browns Hull …
Terrible service if there was an option for minus stars would use DO NOT USE worst service I have ever received would never choose this company again and strongly recommend others not too. Myself and my partner paid out £600 for their services to help purchasing our house they did nothing we chased them up. They blamed Covid over the whole thing utterly not an excuse for incompetent and unprofessional service heard from others they have had similar experience judging by this they won’t be in business much longer .

TrustpilotWasted my time
I was interested in a property located Wymondham which they advertised on a popular website. I booked an appointment for viewing and I received a comfirmation text message. I arrived at the property at the comfirmed time but noone was there. I called the relevant branch (Attleborough), however I was only told that the responsible person is not around. Nobody took the ownership of the problem and I could not view the property, although I came here from over 120 miles away.Time wasting company, I do not recommend at all!

Then keep the deposit in your bank account until you need to return itThey charged me £54 to insure it and are delaying passing it to me as long as possible keeping it in their account! what an insult

I phoned the Pontefract office 2 days ago regarding a bungalow they were selling no one answered as it went to answer machine I left a message name and phone number as of now no one has had the courtesy to phone me back.I'm afraid the reviews on site match my experience with w h browns it's not the first time either.I made an enquiry to Wakefield office 12 months ago regarding a property and 95% of the time on the phone was trying to get me to put my property on the market with them it didn't matter much about the property they were selling. After my experience and certainly the reviews we will not put our property in W H Browns hands.I gave 1 star very reluctantly minus 1 is more appropriate

TrustpilotDo it yourself ... better!
Atrocious communications from their Grantham office - haven't heard from them in weeks bordering into months during our sale. Even when we've chased them, they've not deigned to respond, until - finally - when we raised a formal complaint. Then, just a response that exudes smarmy evasiveness. I can absolutely see why the Sell-it-Yourself approach is booming, as no right-minded individual would use this shambles of an outfit twice. Steer well clear, if I were you.

TrustpilotDO NOT GIVE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS
DO NOT GIVE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESSAs a purchaser, wanting to view properties in the area, I made this mistake with the scunthorpe branch and got no end of marketing emails and rubbish despite me making quite clear initially that i did not want them. It took 3 attempts to get them to stop and remove me from their system, as you can imagine the 3rd email wasn't so polite.Would not entertain now or in the future .
