i wouldn’t give it a 1 star if you!!!!i would never use this estate agent again there all nice when there trying to let a house to you but once your in then your treated like trash, they don’t deal with issues until there ready too i waited 11 months for a hole in ceiling to be sorted out and still wasn’t done even tho was reported and it was a hole that there handyman did!! was still happy to take full rent still even tho the house wasn’t in the state i signed up for!!! now there holding back my deposit because some cleaning issues they say like door handles need cleaning, skirting boards have dust on, at back of tap a-bit of limescal, even tho i’ve got all pictures and videos of how i left it and it was left in excellent condition!!! they keep trying to get me to sign an agreement to receive my bond back but i’ve told them i don’t agree as they would get a cleaner in for new tenants anyway!! and i’ve asked for a link to dispute it with to the dps to dispute it with them and they keep ignoring me!! i was away with work for week and they came tohouse to look on a thursday and there representatives left all lights on thursday friday and saturday as that’s when i got home from work and all i got was sorry we’ll give you £10 for compensation that didn’t even cover any part of electricity used for them 3 days

GoogleWe’re moving to York from Finland and have had to arrange the whole renting process from Finland. Coalters agents have been very helpful in finding a suitable property for us. Dealing with Laura has been very easy as she always has the answers ready and she answers quickly. We couldn’t have asked for a better service!

Not rented myself from them,but they maintain a property in the same block and a constant fire alarm is going off inside this property,no contractor turned up to turn this off as promised. This was left all weekend.This is highly unacceptable for all the tenants,weekend or not,the job would only take a few minutes at the most.No apology was made.

GoogleThe worst ever letting agency I’ve approached. Half a year passed and I have not yet received my deposit for a remote parking. After my several attempts to return my deposit over the last 6 months, this morning I received an email from them “We re still trying to understand why you purchased this fob.” !!! I would avoid L&S York. I must say I’ve quite enjoyed the L&S branch at Leeds, but sadly not here at York.

I recently let my property with the company. They removed £270.00 form my rental income for a call out fee for a tripped switch. Their electrician reset the board but did not identify the electrical issue.In all my years of being a landlords I have NEVER received such an extortionate bill. When I complained they said they will ask the tenant to pay the bill!!! My tenant has just moved in and will have had many expenses. The company needs to review their fees because if I knew how they operated I would not have used them so please be aware of their operations.I am still awaiting my complaint to be dealt with satisfacterly.

Glad to be rid of this company and the arrogant landlord as well. Nothing but hassle since the day we moved in. Made every effort to decorate and keep the house in good condition. Had issues from the first day moving into the property (gas leak was a massive issue!). House apparently professionally cleaned but was an absolute disgrace, greasy oven, dirty floors, mould on windows, dirty bathroom. Filthy carpets which we ended up professionally cleaning ourselves. The final straw was penetrating damp in 3 areas of the house and had to resort to getting the council involved after the landlord blamed us for the damp, blamed us for breaking a tap, etc. The central repairs people are disgraceful and have no one's best interests at heart except their own. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!Glad to be now in a new house with ZERO problems and an absolutely lovely private landlord who genuinely cares about his tenants and his property.Linley and Simpson, you might get away with treating most people with contempt but think again when you deal with people who know their legal rights!Want going to leave this review but feel it's my duty to ensure other people don't get the same poor service and treatment!

The property was not well managed, at-least before giving to the tenant the landlord should be asked to do the works at the property to make it live better from in as well as outside. Done 1000,s check for the tenants, but what about the land lords ??? Lawn very messy, doors not working properly, lights inappropriate. Tenants are paying alot on their demands. Landlords should have some responsibility. Since asking for almost 2 months nothing done yet.
