We rented a property that Gowland White was managing for the landlord in the 3 years we had to wait a year for a banister to be fitted ( which we were told by a tradesman was against the law not to have one) 6 months for a window to be fixed ( did not close property which led to a draft in the living room. 4 months for rising damp & mold in the kitchen, they didn't tell the landlord about the damp until we were moving out, Then after moving out they are trying to deduct some of our bond because there is dust on the skirting board in the living room ( which since we left there has been work men fixing the damp ) also because the shower head was moldy, If you are due to move into a property which is managed by this estate agents make sure to take pictures at the beginning and at the end of your tenancy

Their staff keep you up to date and discuss all details clearly. They are very helpful and will help to push solicitors on if things seem to be dragging. Having sold my property I came to Gowland White as a buyer. Jodene and her colleagues at Yarm couldn’t have been more helpful during this process. The level of service and care they provided was second to non, despite me not being their client as such. They liased with both the seller and my solicitor and kept me informed of what was, or on occasions, what wasn’t happening! At stressful time they were incredibly supportive and I would thoroughly recommend using them to anyone considering marketing their home. We switched to Gowland & White after 6 months with poor service from another local Estate Agent. The contrast in the quality of service and the quantity of viewings was considerable. This led to a sale, which although was beset by problems, from elsewhere, they were handled with a professional and efficient manner by G&W staff. Throughout the process we were kept well informed by helpful and friendly staff. Their sound advice was always informed by a thorough and up to date knowledge of market trends and housing values. We cannot recommend them highly enough. Superb company to deal with.

Excellent and Friendly Customer Service We were looking for a rental property and saw one with Gowland White which we were interested in. Never having rented before we were guided through the process by Rob Hopkins who was extremely helpful, polite and efficient. He went above and beyond anything that we expected and assisted us to secure the property that we liked. He understood our position which helped and kept us informed at all stages of the process. Awful customer service.They did find a buyer for our property, but the process from arranging viewings & throughout the sale process was very poor.I made reasonable requests for information, which were flatly refused but then subsequently that same information was provided to me...merely because I persisted. To be obstinate and refuse in the first instance was simply unreasonable.If only they had provided what I asked for the first time, we perhaps would be at two stars or more...but their internal communication was terrible. Staff members were often left without basic information & at times I knew more than they did about viewings or the sale process. The Yarm branch manager wasn’t on top of the sale information & often provided conflicting and confusing information; this adds further to the poor review.It felt as though everything had to go through one person, the manager, before it could be communicated to us.As a result, it was a genuine shambles throughout.

Helpful and friendly team.

The team were very helpful in organising viewings and coming back with the feedback. I am pleased with the sale process with Gowland and White. I did get touted by many companies asking me to sell through them but I have heard of dubious contract once you sign with them. I stuck with local agents who branches in the area rather then a letter through the post.
