TrustpilotGleeson homes have no respect or concern for residents
The houses are OK but they have no respect for the people who live on their estates. They store all their building materials on the grass in the centre of our development blocking views of roads for traffic going past. There have been multiple near misses due to this. I've warned the site managers several times, they don't care. The roads are covered in mud, my car keeps getting covered with dust which I then have to pay to get cleaned. A few weeks ago I got a new car, straight out of the showroom, parked it on my driveway and the next day it was covered in mud and dust. I asked Gleeson to pay for it to be cleaned and they just ignored me.I was threatened with legal action for parking my Landrover almost out of sight on the grass beside my house. I replied that parking my Landrover on the road would be dangerous because my house is on a bend and my driveway only had space for one vehicle. Another threat of legal action so I put it on the road. In less than 2 months it was written off when another neighbour skidded on a patch of ice (CREATED BY POOR DRAINAGE courtesy of Gleeson) and smashed into it.Once a house is sold they don't care about the occupants.

TrustpilotGreat value, great service
I absolutely love my house which was extremely good value for money. I’m not saying it’s first class, but the quality is good for the money. You can’t buy a Ferrari for 10 grand so dont expect a luxury mansion for 140 grand. The gleeson staff are all very helpful and couldn’t do enough for me. No issues throughout the whole process, and even the defects I found got dealt with swiftly. As others have said, don’t listen to the negative rubbish on here, I can’t recommend gleeson enough

TrustpilotI love my Gleeson home!
after reading through a lot the reviews on here, I feel like I’ve been dealing with a different company! I have recently moved into my house on Linkswood Park and I’m incredibly happy. the site team on my development are absolutely brilliant, they are all so helpful and genuinely care. they are willing to do anything they can to keep you happy in your new home. the only issue I’ve really had is that before completion, at times the communication with the sales office wasn’t the best, however that’s baring in mind we were in the middle of a global pandemic. as someone else has said, please go onto Instagram and have a look at how many people are happy in their beautiful Gleeson homes, you won’t be disappointed!

TrustpilotJust appalling. AVOID.
Appalling Customer Service. Infact, I don't think "Customer Service" is a term that exists at Gleeson Homes. We were buying a property on the Model Walk site in Creswell and they delayed the completion date by six months, just days after pushing us to get our mortgage arranged and our extras paid for. We sent an email to head office asking for an explanation and reassurance, as the sales office staff "couldn't tell us" what was happening and then our solicitor called and said that Gleeson cancelled the sale.I drove to the head office in Sheffield and calmly asked what was happening and the lady on reception said they have a policy where they will not speak to you in person, I would have to write. After a stressful week and many trips to the sales office, where the sales lady broke down in tears and said she isn't allowed to talk to us as "the head man" has said the sale has been cancelled, we received a letter with no apology saying "We aren't going to meet your expectations" and it's best that we cancel the sale. Nobody would explain why. All we did was ask a question, wanting information about our reserved property - which forms part of the Consumer Code for Builders. Gleeson simply do not care.We waited and saved a bigger deposit and purchased a home with a different builder, best thing we did. Just look at the other reviews.

I wish I had never ever purchased a house from Gleeson! The driveway is made from aggregate which is not even. As our plot has a shared driveway with a number of houses the drive has caved in where vehicles have been driving on and off. As the ground is uneven my partner fell over causing an injury. I brought this to Gleesons attention - this not being the first time. I explained the entrance into our driveway should be concrete so it’s even and safe for us to get our bins in and out without falling over and causing injury. They said there is nothing they can do - shock! I’ve only been in my house for 12 months and already want to move!

TrustpilotHealth & Safety
As you can probably tell by the myriad of terrible reviews 'Gleeson homes' are a vile, despicable company that treats its customers with utter contempt once they have your money.I think its also worth mentioning that Gleeson's constant refusal to even acknowledge any issues can have serious consequences. Terrible planning by Gleeson's has resulted in the placement of a parking bay directly outside my living room window. So close I cannot open the window as I will hit the car parked there. I have no privacy, everyday I have a stream of strangers staring in my window as the get out of their cars. I have taken to closing the blinds and sitting in darkness day after day. My health has suffered as a result. Also if there was a fire and it cut off access to my front door I would be trapped to burn alive as getting out the window (even though its an escape window) is impossible as there is a car right up against it.Gleeson's haven't acknowledged any of my emails and when I contacted them by phone a lady put me through to 'Customer Care' which turned out to be an answer service that still haven't called me back.I guess the health and well being of a 60 year old woman isn't a priority at all and can be ignored as can the health and safety regulations.

TrustpilotWarning
Before you consider buying a home from Gleeson, you should be aware of the type of people you will be dealing with. Customer service is without doubt the worst I have dealt with. The build quality of the homes also matches the quality of the customer service, everything is done to a poor standard and without any quality control. Back to the 'Customer Care'. Since moving in I must have contacted Gleeson's over 30 times about various issues some extremely serious and have received only a handful of replies, all simply refusing to take any responsibility and offering no help. Most communications go unanswered or you get promised a 'call back' that never comes.I short as you can see see from almost all the reviews, buying a home from Gleeson's is a terrible experience. Please avoid any dealings with this company they are a joke.

TrustpilotAvoid, the negatives only appear after the sale
A list of long faults that are taking an age to get dealt with for a start and in some cases the faults are not being recognised as faults. Didn’t put on a side gate I paid for, eventually put it on but, rather than a path they have used soft soil and refused to change it. Utter cowboys.

80% of your customers on here had a terrible experience it's one of the worst reviews of a company on trustpulot -are you not ashamed ???I cannot believe this company is not being investigated I even contacted NHBC and they didn't want to know obviously with the owner being a gypsie they are to scared . Anyway push for compensation .i wrote to the local paper and tabloids and copied gleeson in and they soon offered me compensation . Ask for subject access request for all the information they have on you it's a legal requirement for them to send you within 40 days of your request . It makes very interesting read and certainly helps toward your case....also be aware when they fix one issue it leads to another issue . I won't go into it but just remember this

The worst mistake i ever made was buying a gleesons home. It permanently stinks as the drains are nearly always blocked.None of the doors shut properly and there are gaps in the windowsAfter they get your money they don't sort anything out.

TrustpilotUseless and full of lies!!
Building homes, changing lives. At Gleeson, we build low-cost, high quality homes in the North of England and the Midlands. If that statement was true then you would have 78% positive and happy customers infact its the other way around 78% of the reviews are negative and true to the point that you will regret buying a home from these unprofessional so-called housebuilder firm called Gleeson. We have had nothing but trouble since day one from build quality to false promises and none existant customer services (same person answers the phone). I wish i knew all this before i bought the house but unfortunately nobody warned well this is my chance to warn many of you out there. The price definately reflects on the houses and forget about having any issues after purchasing you will be on your own!Surely they know all this from so many customers and they are doing NOTHING about it because they know people will be attracted to the price only and the showhomes (although showhomes are built by proper builders and designers) you will get nothing like them i promise you! They are just very arrogant thinking that their homes will still sell that is their attitude and that is why its very annoying because people will not see their lies until after they buy the house. We should boycott their homes for many reasons and the government should ban them altogether. Im more shocked at how the nhbs has approved their dodgy build quality it amazes me. People do your research ask the neighbours and current gleeson homeowners before you buy one!You can’t even build fences to protect your gardens! So when people trample over ur lawn and flowers its not Gleeson’s problem and people walk their dogs like its a public park. When family asks why can’t you build a fence its embarassing to tell them its covenant appartantly (legal stuff) which is about 40 different ones so again its your house but you can’t do anything without their permission! After explaining that we live on a main road and its dangerous with cars speeding and public walking all over our lawns so we want to build our fences (with our own cost) they refuse because it spoils the look of the house according to them. Then they send us emails about having garden competitions really takes the mickey! Its time we took them to the local press now so everyone within the community knows the truth!

Trustpilotgleeson homes
I have bought my first house from gleesons and I have nothing really bad to say about them. The house was completed 2 weeks before the completion date there was only 3 snags and they sorted them out in that week. I’ve been in my house 4 months now and still in love with it just as much as the start. Gleesons has sorted out any enquires nice and fast. The only bad thing is the garden but there coming to sort that out after isolation. So I would highly recommend buying a house from them. I was so scared to go for it after seeing all the bad reviews but I’m glad I did. People please go on instagram and follow loads of gleesons homes you will start seeing there’s hell of a lot more happier reviews than what you find on Facebook or these sites.

TrustpilotUn horrible experience
In all fairness it was horrible form the very beginning. Passing that we meet with the site manager for the inspection of the house and old man without manners and everything for him it was just dust and nothing else. When I start to show him the horrible quality of the plaster allover the house the kitchen floor with many wrong cuts and places without paint his answer all the time it was,, it just dust mate easy to fix" when he see that I'm starting to lose my calm with his explications he left. When we moved in not even the things we paid for to be done it wasn't. No paint done, no plaster fixed, no handles on doors and the boiler wasn't close like we ask. 3 day after we moved in I start to see that the both room was liking everywhere when the plumber come it was ridiculous what we found out. The bath was liking in 3 places and it wasn't properly stable which he had to fix and the sink as well. And after months we wait for them to do something what basically they had to do it before we moved in. So for us was an horrible experience and definitely I wouldn't advise you to buy an house from them and for us will be definitely the last gleeson house which we ever buy

TrustpilotAbsolutely shocking....
Absolutely shocking....I wouldn't trust them with nailing a picture to a wall let alone build a house. I am unfortunate enough to have only realised this after purchasing a property from them. I cant begin to describe the constant and endless problems I have had with my property. The boiler had a pipe split, this caused a significant flood, two months down the line I still have no flooring as well as damaged items. Gleeson has sat and done nothing. Changing the site manager monthly seems to be their thing excuse. Using external contractors is another. The build quality is sub standard and I would happily invite NHBC to come and inspect the property for faults. Gleeson care about nothing other than taking the money from your pocket. They need to be boycotted/banned from producing anymore developments before someone is injured or worse due to poor build quality. Finally, I would like to thank Gleeson for single handedly ruining my first time experience of buying a property and their contribution to causing unneeded stress. I hope karma catches up with you in the future.

TrustpilotAbsolutely abysmal service
Absolutely abysmal service - within the first month of being there, my shower head attachment broke off the wall, I had a leak in the upstairs bathroom sink which I had to pay £75 to get British Gas to come and fix (Gleesons haven't responded at all and won't pay for it or at least contribute to the price even though the plumber said it was a fault with the sink, not because of anything I'd done). When someone from Gleesons FINALLY came round to fix the shower head, ONE MONTH AFTER IT HAD BROKEN, he messed around with my security alarm and broke it. He said he'd get an electrician to come and fix it, but I've not heard anything from him or Gleeson since. Now I have problems with my boiler, my skirting boards don't reach the floor and my alarm is still broken. I used the MyGleeson app and it's absolute rubbish, they get round to you when they feel like it and they don't even do a half decent job. When I was buying the house, the sales rep was incredibly pushy and kept saying how she wanted the sale through asap because it was Christmas and her daughter's birthday coming up so she wanted my money. This is my very first house and Gleeson have absolutely ruined my experience of first time home ownership, I completely 1000% regret buying a house with them - they don't even deserve a 1 star review, they've got the worst sales team and the worst customer service I've ever seen from a company!

We are the second owners of this property in the Wheatley Hill Development which is now four years old. The following are the issues I have come across in the past 17 months. The Boiler (Ideal branded)broke down twice in six months costing over £200s to be fixed. Both WC cisterns replaced due to leaking water.Thermostat malfunctions while away for two months in the Winter, resulting in large gas bills for an empty house.Poor quality taps, front door rattling, ill fitting patio doors and windows. The structure vibrates during high winds. I have fixed a lot the problems using my own money.NHBC is of little help. The neighbours issues range from water leaking from ducts, design faults with drains, gas leeks.Just waiting now for the next issue to crop up.
