From my first contact with Romans it…

From my first contact with Romans Tilehurst it was a seamless transaction. Mark was very approachable and explained everything fully and put me at ease straightaway. I later met the manager Steve who took time out to go over a couple of points for me, nothing was too much trouble and Nathan was very responsive, they are a great team, well run and very customer friendly, i highly recommend them.

Great Experience

We viewed a property that we loved in Caversham, unfortunately the offer didn’t go through but luckily Chloe was very quick to send us properties that were even more suited to what we were looking for. My late brother used Romans for the letting of his flat in Winchester for some years and always spoke well of the service they provided.When he passed away, I contacted Ceri at Romans and she was so very helpful and understanding, and supported our family as we sorted out my brothers affairs, and kept us informed of any and all matters relating to the ongoing tenancy.I thoroughly recommend Romans and thank Ceri in particular for her help over the year since we took over the flat.

They share your private info to 3rd parties without consent

I signed up with this agent today to see a property for sale. It’s been a nightmare thus far. I’ve had my details shared to agents in my area ( despite being listed and contracted already for the sale of my home), which I did not give permission for. I’ve had spam emails addresses to Mr, despite being the MRS with the details logged with Romans (insulting and sexist much?). I’ve had the booking cancelled because the vendor won’t do viewings on weekends (they clearly don’t want to sell, so why is it listed on Rightmove?This whole thing has been a debacle and all because I shared my email ( which I had to spell out 6 times on 2 phone calls because they got it wrong) and phone number to be listed and vetted for the viewing. These agents are muppets and so incredibly unprofessional.. don’t bother! Go elsewhere they will mess you around and breech privacy laws to boot!!!

Poorest experience one can possibly…

Poorest experience one can possibly have of an estate agency … they define the unfortunate reality of the world we live in… the crooks always get away with unlawful behaviours that end up costing money to contract abiding tenants … long story short I moved into one of their leased property in August 2021. Upon moving in, the premises were dirty and I was advised that a professional clean would allegedly occur before moving in … allegedly was indeed the word… it never happened … so here I was cleaning a flat dirtied by someone else to be sure it would be germ free for myself and my partner. 1.5yrs later I end up surrendering the premises early due to the landlady never complying with her contractual duties, refusing to replace her white good of a fridge/freezer that had been playing up within the first 6 months into the property which ended up dying on me over night resulting in the loss of over £300 worth of Costco meat.. The final draw was that my health substantially declined so I decided to surrender the key a week early and have the property professional cleaned and to thank me Romans estate agents conducted multiple visits, accrued additional bills linked to their use of lights, dirtied the premises and had the audacity to ask that I pay for their cleaning bill and fictional damage that would have allegedly happens at the premises … we are now dealing with THEIR ombudsman who deals with deposits to decide if I have indeed retuned the premises in a better state than they were given and if I have of not damaged something that was left working in perfect order given the Images that I have provided …. ROMANS DO NOT LOOK AFTER TENANTS THEY LOOK AFTER THEMSELVES AND THEIR LANDLORDS …. Shame on you

DO NOT RENT WITH ROMANS

Threatened firstly with you have to take their zero deposit scheme or the landlord won’t accept you.When we moved in, our rental house had apparently been ‘professionally cleaned’, funny how there was remains in every kitchen cupboard and mud on the carpets, must all be part of that ‘sparkle service’ we were charged for on check in.When moving out 1 years later, the inventory report they took was remarkably more detailed than the check in report on entry. We left that place immaculate, yet every tiny scuff, hole, latches added from previous tenants was attributed to us and a fine was charged.They bully you into paying or go to arbitration and pay more money for that. I will never be renting from Romans again and just hope somebody reads this and decides to save themselves the awful experience that we had. It’s the fact they actually fine you for their scams that really infuriated me.My experience from Romans left me feeling like I was a cash cow for them to milk as much money from as possible. Romans is a terrible company to consider letting from, I hope you don’t make the same mistake that we did. Let these incompetent, unprofessional and hurtful people go out of business.

Easy and helpful service from Romans Reading

We contacted number of letting agents and Companies. Some not responded at all or just make our moving hard. Finally we meet Romans Letting Reading and through their system we moved to new house just in few days. Easy, non complicated guide system, we also visited office to pickup keys, have had additional question about advice of later house purchase and mortgage.
