Wonderful

My experience with Romans was lovely from day one. Mark P. was wonderful, he made sure I found exactly what I was looking for in my new flat and has kept up amazing communication throughout the process. It's a huge move for me down the country, and I feel a lot more at ease knowing how smooth everything has gone so far and how updated I have been kept on everything. It's all been so clear and straightforward. I can't say enough good things about Mark and Romans in general, I definitely trust I'm in good hands here!

Easy and helpful service from Romans Reading

We contacted number of letting agents and Companies. Some not responded at all or just make our moving hard. Finally we meet Romans Letting Reading and through their system we moved to new house just in few days. Easy, non complicated guide system, we also visited office to pickup keys, have had additional question about advice of later house purchase and mortgage. I have had the pleasure of renting out properties with Romans for many years, and recently in buying a property with them. During this time I’ve always been thoroughly impressed by their staff and their level of customer service and support. I would recommend Romans to anyone wishing to rent out or sell their property. I’ve been particularly impressed by Debra Barman, Senior Property Manager who continues to deliver. She has great attention to detail and is quick to respond to any questions/issues I have, thus giving me the feeling she is on top of her game. I have the utmost confidence in her abilities to effectively manage my properties, and she often goes above and beyond to help support me. So poor

So poor. The inability to communicate and keep myself as a tenant updated is well below the standard expected. Emails not being responded to and appointments (multiple) canceled with hours to go with no explanation or apology is simply awful. As a previous landlord and now some experience as a tenant I won’t be recommending or returning to ROMANS. I hope for the sake of the company that it’s just the Camberley branch which is so poor. Customer experience is everything and sometimes a little apology goes a long way.

Hat tip to Kim and her efforts of late

My partner and I have been tenants at the same property for four years that is and has always been managed by Romans. Kim, our property manager, is due a shout out for the hours she puts in to looking after our flat, tenancy and rights since she took over our tenancy. It feels as though Kim ensures our landlord and ourselves are well informed, looked after, heard and reasonable. Whilst there have been a few maintenance issues over the years with one particular issue persisting, Kim has made us feel like resolving it is a priority (as I expect she does for everyone when it is a legal requirement to have said issue rectified, which it is in our case) and although it must be arduous and repetitive she’s professional, persistent and stays in contact. I have no doubt that she has a fair and decisive approach to her work (but she’s also a good crack on the phone).

Catherine The Great!!

We agreed a sale on our property back in October 2022 through Romans after marketing for 2 weeks. Unfortunately our buyers used an online firm of solicitors who were uncommunicative for the majority of the time. Our buyers were also a nightmare to deal with and frustrated the process at every turn possible. Catherine (Move Manager) has been amazing. She has been the liaison point for us all throughout the nightmare and finally, after 7 months of delays, we are now completing next week. Thank you Catherine!

Romans Bracknell - TennantSo I've recently vacated a 1 bedroom flat and handed back to Romans after living there 3 years. My experience.Romans have zero interest in your property after you have moved in, a 6 monthly check was done and I sometimes received the report, with no problems highlighted.During my notice period, I had a very rude phone call from one of there letting managers, resulting in me hanging up. Move forward to the move out and final inspection. I repainted the bedroom to white and also a hallway, the place was thoughroly cleaned including shampooing the carpets. I even sent photos directly to the landlord who was very happy and we left on good terms.The Romans report was conducted and was awful, it picked up every last item it could, ignoring the fact it hadn;t been renovated for at least 20 years and was showing signs of wear and damage from previous tennants - were talking chips on kitchen cupboards, discolouring of light switches etc. It ended up with the landlord insisting Romans release my deposit, which they finally did 3 weeks after I had vacated.So - go into an agreement with your eyes open, expect them to try everything to keep your deposit. and best suggestion, avoid altogether. Rude, unprofessional senior lettings manager and quite devious with the final reports.To save Romans the time of the pointless response please see below.Dear Customer,We appreciate your feedback and thank you for taking the time to let us know about your experience. I have been with Romans, Wokingham for four years now, and I am more than pleased with their services. More specifically, their team have always been easily approachable, helpful and reliable. A most recent example of the latter, is an unexpected maintenance issue that needed urgent resolution. During the whole process, I was kindly and promptly assisted by my new property manager, Ms Hayley McPhail who kept me informed all the time about the communication outcomes with the Landlord, actions taken and the relevant external professional visits.
