I offered the asking price on a property in Orchard Place in Wokingham recently and was notified that the property had been sold. They didn’t even contact me to see if I wanted to increase my offer!! From that, all I can establish is that all they care about is their commission and not getting the best price for their clients! 👎🏻😞

Chancellors have been excellent from the first day my partner and I started using them, we have had to postpone our search for now due to current circumstances but as for the service they have provided I couldn't expect better communication and frequent updates on suitable properties. UPDATE 23/08/2022 : Malcom - associate director - contacted me after the incident. Profusely apologized and confirmed an internal miscommunication issue. Generally, happy that the mistake was admitted and I was reimbursed for the waste of time. I’ll leave the review at 4 stars just so that people still were aware about the potential problems that might happen. Found a property in Rightmove. All good. Started calling the agency. Here’s the timeline: Thursday - get in touch - reception picks up and says someone will call back. Same day someone calls back and says the property is gone. Okay, things happen. I let go. Friday - Amelia calls and leaves a voicemail - the property isn’t actually gone and she’s keen to talk. I was busy that day and could pick up so I use the information she sent to me to call back - no one picks up. A few times. Saturday - they are opened until afternoon. I call several times. There’s no response in her office. So I call the main number, someone picks up, I leave my information and then promise that Amelia will call back. Monday next week. No one calls. I call in the afternoon: Amelia’s direct line and her office. Someone picks up, but not the lettings department. So they take my info AGAIN and say that they’ll email Amelia and will ask her to call back. Guess what? Right - no one calls back. I leave it till Tuesday afternoon. And FINALLY someone who seems like they know Amelia picks up. We book a viewing for Thursday. It was clearly stated to me that “Amelia will see you on Thursday”. Come Thursday - there are no confirmations, no communication at all. Even though her initial email said that someone will contact me to confirm the viewing. So before heading to the property - I called. Several times again. No one picked up. Well, may be they are all gone on other appointments, I won’t miss out on the property just because no one confirmed. I came and waited for 30 minutes. Tried calling Amelia’s office and her direct line - no response. I wait. People can be late. But nothing happens, no on shows up so I call the main branch number - someone helps out and says that someone will call me back. So I waited for another 10 minutes and called back to the branch. They finally transferred me to Amelia. Turns out the viewing was provisional - no one communicated me that by the way. The email confirmation they sent wasn’t clear enough for me. I admit that. But whoever booked the viewing for me in the first place - I was told it was someone called Elliot in the head office - should’ve told me that this isn’t confirmed. He clearly stated that Amelia will see me on Thursday. So I didn’t even check the email confirmation. So with poor communication, inability to reach anyone in this branch, I wasted 2 hours of my life on a property that under offer already. (That’s what Amelia finally told me when I talked to her). Thanks guys. What a wonderful lot of people. Hats off to the customer care team though - they tried.

If you want an estate agent who does not respond to emails or phone calls, Chancellors are your guys. Would also be very wary of paying money for repairs as they are happy to take the money, less inclined to do the work. Avoid like the plague
