GoogleI recently obtained a rental through Grants of Derbyshire. They were absolutely excellent from the very start. The person who completed the viewing was extremely polite and friendly. I dealt with Colleen in the lettings department and she was absolutely superb. Very amicable and explained things clearly. She took an interest in my personal situation and seemed generally interested in getting the best result for me. Finalising my move was also very simple and I was given a lot of guidance along the way. Their friendliness and professionalism was 5 star and I’d recommend them to anyone!

GoogleFrom the first time we entered Grants they have been superb communicators, professional and good fun. We had a very long protracted sale due to a very long chain which often felt like it would never end! However, Grants and particularly Colleen and Kerry kept us going with regular updates and amazing liaising with our solicitor and us. Anyone wanting to sell "go to Grants of Wirksworth". Now we are buying through them and it is the same positive feeling. They understand the importance of regular communication a rare skill in this day and age!

GoogleShaun and his team have been managing our rental property for the past 10 years. They are a knowledgeable, professional and friendly team that have helped ensure the property has been tenanted throughout. Owning a property from a distance can be complicated and stressful at times but the Grants service simplified and assured through some of those difficult times. More recently the team sold the property. Within two days of marketing we accepted an above asking price offer and completed just a few weeks ago. It’s the end of an era now we have move to Derbyshire permanently - but I would definitely recommend Grants if you have a property to either sell or rent.

GoogleBrilliant service from start to finish. Colleen took some really great photos whilst we were looking for onward property to buy, once we did I notified Grants and they completed the particulars and posted the cottage on line the same afternoon! There was a lot of interest, and just 8 days later I accepted an offer. All of the staff have been fantastic throughout the sale process. I would definitely recommend Grants for their care, attention to detail and support.

They were always quick to respond and clear with what the next steps were. GoogleFrom the beginning, we have received an outstanding service from Grant's. Sean treated me with compassion and respect when I first walked into their office, pretty desperate to find a new (rental) home. Very quickly Nicola found us some great options and went above and beyond to ensure that we secured viewings. Since moving into our house, customer service from Nicola has been fantastic and any house maintenance issues have been quickly resolved with no fuss. Grant's liaise well between us and the landlords. We are always greeted with a smile whenever we have queries. Thank you!

GoogleI would not hesitate to recommend Grants, as I could not have been more pleased with the services provided by them. Valuation, preparation of the sale brochure, online marketing, the showing of the property to prospective buyers, at no additional fee, in my absence and providing access for the buyer’s surveys and finally closing the sale and chasing up people. All the above where handled in a professional, courteous and timely manner. In addition, their fees are competitive and presented in a very clear and easy to understand manner

GoogleWe have dealt with Grants for some years as our letting agents. When we decided to sell our property they were our first choice. Throughout the selling process they kept us up to date and liased with the solicitors. Viewing was difficult with social distancing and a tenant in situ. GoogleThe sale of our house, after falling through the first time, was part of a quite lengthy chain. My overwhelming feeling is throughout the 9 months it took to sell the house, communication could have been better and possibly the first purchaser may not have fallen through. I seemed to deal with different people in the office, which didn't give me the feeling of consistency. Frustratingly, I had better communication from the estate agent of the house we were buying. That said, in the end, our house was sold in a difficult market.

Thanks for your review Kevin. It's perhaps unrealistic for us to hope for 5 star reviews from all of our clients but we were surprised to only be awarded 3 stars by you. I have responded directly to you, but for the sake of anyone reading and considering using Grant's of Derbyshire, I think it's important to clarify a few points. It actually took us just over 9 weeks to agree a sale on your property. Your intention at this point was to buy an empty property, which was the top of the chain. However, 6 weeks into the sale of your property you withdrew from your initial purchase due to a concerning survey. The property that you chose to purchase instead had an incomplete chain and sadly, 2 months after agreeing your sale, we reached a point where your buyer was ready to proceed with the purchase of your property but the upward chain was still not complete. We kept your buyer updated throughout this period and liaised with the agents above, but sadly, as there was no end in sight for your buyers, they started viewing other properties and ultimately found one that was more suitable for them and with no upward chain, so withdrew from the purchase of your house. It's fair to say that I spoke to you & emailed you on numerous occasions throughout this period, stressing that your buyer needed to complete before Christmas and asking you to consider breaking the chain in order to retain your buyers but you were unwilling to do so (despite being offered a very good rental opportunity by the person you were buying from, which I'd liaised with the upward agent to secure). When, almost inevitably, your sale fell through, I immediately contacted other parties who had viewed your house before, arranged a second viewing for the following day and we accepted an offer from a new buyer just 1 week later. The lower chain broke down during the subsequent months yet despite this and the fact that the chain contained 7 properties, exchange was achieved roughly 3 months after the offer was accepted from your second buyer. Throughout this time, I liaised continuously with the other agents in the chain (I agree, by the way, that Helen at Leightons was also fantastic!) and I really don't think there's anything we could have done differently to prevent your initial sale falling through (though some flexibility from yourself would undoubtedly have saved it). I'm surprised by your comment about lack of consistency due to dealing with different people in the office, but inevitably there'll be occasions when a member of staff is off, or out at another appointment and when that happens we'll try our best to ensure we assist our customers in the meantime. We're a very small team, and I'm not aware of this impacting negatively on your sale in any way, but I have noted your comment. Nevertheless, we wish you all the best in your new home. GoogleI decided to rent during summer 2020 and Grants made the entire transition easy, I lived in the property for 2 years and they were always the other end of the phone whenever I had any issues. They even went out of their way to collect my parcel when I delivered it to the wrong address once I moved out! They really went above and beyond. I have had many diffcult experiences with other estate agents and I can hand on heart say that Grants are miles above the rest! I had a difficult time and unforseen circumstances and had to make a change to my tenancy and Nicola and the team were there every step of the way to make it as easy as possible. I never felt like anything was too much work for them! I am very grateful for them and their support and would highly recommend! Nicola almost became a friend and I had tears in my eyes when I had to say goodbye! Thank you to Nicola and the team!

GoogleI am posting this review as someone further up the chain from a property that Grant's were selling. Grant's gave inaccurate information to our estate agent about the chain, stating that our purchasers had a 'very short chain of 2 properties that was very well progressed'. We relied on this information and accepted an offer, taking our property off the market. In fact, there were 7 properties in the chain and our purchaser's purchaser had not agreed a mortgage or conducted a survey. After various other misinformation along the line, the survey result was finally received 1 week AFTER our anticipated completion date, revealing £40,000 worth of work required. They then attempted to pass that up the line, requesting £40,000 off our property (which had nothing wring with it). The chain collapsed at the eleventh hour and we are back to the start again. If Grant's had been truthful from the start, we would never have accepted the offer on our property. They are either incompetent or dishonest, or both. Beware if your purchaser is selling through Grant's!

Dear Sara, I do totally understand (and share) your disappointment that your sale has fallen apart at such a late stage. I have asked your estate agent to seek your permission to pass on your email address to me so that I can share more information relating to your chain, which would not be appropriate to share on a public forum, and I would really welcome the opportunity to do so. In the meantime, however, I would like to just correct your assumption that we relayed incorrect information about your buyer's chain when you agreed your sale. When we checked the chain prior to agreeing the sale on your buyers' property, the estate agent below us advised that their buyer had sold to cash buyers (hence there were only 2 sales below yours as you stated) and this is the information we passed on to your agent. It was only subsequently, through our own investigations, that we found out that those cash buyers at the bottom had decided to sell and tie in their own sale and we at this point informed not only Matthew at Luscombe Maye but also the agent below us! Your buyers' buyers had a Mortgage In Principle when their offer was accepted by us, as is standard practice and they subsequently arranged a survey (though rather later in the process than we advised). I would like to assure you that we acted with integrity and honesty throughout and it is unfortunately the actions & decisions of just one party towards the top of the chain combined with an unfortunate sequence of circumstances, that resulted in our sale (and thus yours) not proceeding. If you look at the rest of our reviews, you will hopefully be reassured that we strive to do our best for all our vendors and purchasers too and we were genuinely devastated when your buyers' sale could not proceed.
