GoogleSo I feel that this is a fair review, my ex partner had the house valued by Allen & Harris on 24th January 2017 at a much higher value than we had expected. Photographs were taken, come spring no offers so I telephoned Allen & Harris to ask if new photographs could be taken as the garden photo was taken in January had a frosty look and with the season changing I thought that if they were wanting to sell our house then that wasn't too much to ask for. I was very rudely told that if we wanted new updated photographs then we would have to pay for a professional photographer! As if we hadn't already been charged enough for their services. So finally in May we received an offer of £30,000 less than we had expected. Then the nightmare began, we continually had to chase and despite Kate promising to phone my self and my ex partner she seemed to have disappeared off the face of the earth. Calls were NEVER returned! To our amazement Kate turned out at the house we were selling on the day of completion to make sure all was okay. If you are wanting to sell your house and looking for a pro-active team then please do not use the Devizes office.

Harry from Allen and Harris, supported myself and my partner with our mortgage process and application. This included 3 x face to face appointments. During the appointments harry was very professional, friendly and approachable. Things we didn’t quite understand, being first time buyers, were explained in great depth. Not only did harry sort out the mortgage application, but also all the important insurance covers too. May I add, 10 days after our mortgage application was submitted, we had an email back to say it was accepted! Much quicker than what we thought the process would take! ☺️ thank you! We would definitely recommend

Thoroughly recommend Allen and Harris. Selling a house that was my grandparents and latterly my late parents was a difficult and emotional thing to do, coupled with me living a two hour drive away. The team were very kind, thoughtful. Kept me up to date and really went above and beyond, offering to get legal paperwork from their office to my solicitors for me. I would particularly mention James Lamb and Connor Sherman. I wouldn't hesitate to use Allen & Harris for buying or selling any property.

Emailed to ask for a viewing of a house, was called by (apparently) the head office and told it would be booked in. We arranged our day around the viewing and got excited to view what looked like a really lovely house. I got a bad feeling the day we were meant to view it as I hadn't had any confirmation email and was told that I hadn't been booked in at all. I then asked to book it in for another evening and my details were taken this time. Again, arranged our day around the viewing, didn't receive a confirmation email. Rang again and was told that it hadn't been booked in, they didn't have my details on the database and the vendor had said they only wanted people that were ready to buy to view the house and because mine is going through the process of being put on the market, that I couldn't view it. Absolute joke. Wasted so much of our time. AND they had the balls to ask if we needed an estate agent to put our house on the market - as if I would go anywhere near them now. Will be avoiding any houses that are being sold by them now and in the future.

GoogleMy daughter recently bought a flat through the Devizes office. The service we received was brilliant, well beyond what I would have expected and the best I have ever received from an estate agent. Due to various factors the transaction didn't run smoothly but the team in the office gave us so much support. I'd like to particularly call out Lee, the office manager, and James Morten-Scott, the mortgage broker, for the efforts they made on our behalf. They were always there for us and nothing was too much trouble.

Seen property of cash,prepared to make offer on receipt of home report failed to send report at 10am called 11.20 had not received as had solicitor and cash in place.failed to communicate.called back 4.30 and told house was sold only explanation was the person dealing with home reports had a dilemma.a bit of a vague company and not even a return call apologising for their actions.let down both seller and purchaser in this case.broadholm street property

Unreliable and untrustworthy.This company has been a source of frustration for ourselves and our landlord.We had viewings deceptively organised behind our backs while living in the property, under the guise of agents being allowed to take photos.We also confirmed our deposit return with our landlord and agent and then received no deposit or response for over two weeks.My wife was told today after getting in touch it was not there responsibility, until we provided screenshots of the same agent who lied to us previously explaining he would communicate with the landlord and get back to us then failed to do so.Completely inconsistent, incredibly stressful, unprofessional and no accountability. I would advise caution before working with or renting through this company.

We had a really good experience with Allen and Harris team, we are based up north and getting viewings on a Saturday was always a difficult thing for us , but this team never let us down , always accommodated us and were very courteous namely John and Alex who helped us out . We asked them if the property had any structural issues, and even though they knew it had, they told us the opposite. We found out later when the property information form came through. So they basically breached their legal duty. So I incurred costs and survey fees, which I am now trying to reclaim back from them, but they even make this difficult. Shameful estate agent, the kind that reaffirm everyone's opinion of estate agents.

Spoke with Laura to ask for a home report which I have still not received. I think she really hates her job because every-time I’ve called and she’s answered the phone she sounds like she would rather not be there. I have actually changed my mind about even buying a house form Allen and Harris because if you let someone like that answer the phone with no motivation to help your customers then I can only imagine the service you must provide. My brother has called to enquire about another property and the same Laura answered the phone and he has also changed his mind about getting a property. So congratulations yous have lost out on 2 potential deals. Staff should not be hired if they don’t like their job.

Saw a property yesterday in Broomlands st paisley, agent who showed up was the most unprofessional person I have delt with. She wouldn't even come through the property with us. Claimed there was a "smell" inside. Wasn't sure how long property was on the market. Didn't give us a business card or information about property. She didn't even shake my hand or say goodbye. I didn't realise estate agents got paid to stay outside the property. She (Lauren) is definitely not a very good representative for your business.

Currently trying to get back £11,000 despite my tenancy ending two weeks ago and ignoring all my requests for it to be returned. So stressful. SO unethical. I am furious with how I've been treated by this company.The worst renting experience I've ever had. My landlord is an abusive bully who mocks, insults and abuses me in emails with Allen & Harris copied in. She has been doing this for months. Allen & Harris seem to accept this behaviour and at no point have asked my landlord to speak to me politely, despite the fact that I flagged multiple times how much the bullying treatment was affecting me and mental health. Allen & Harris seem to view tenant bullying as acceptable. If you raise any issue about your tenancy, they like to remind you that they 'work for the landlord, not the tenant'. They are this brazen and this shameless. You really need to know your rights inside out when renting from these people as they will take advantage of you if they can. There's no human decency or ethics involved; it's all about money. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone who is new to renting at all (tbf, I don't recommend them anyway).Personally, having been a landlord, I would never want my tenants to be mistreated and exploited and made unhappy on my behalf. I actually believe in being decent to people, not just extracting as much money as possible from them while subjecting them to misery.I terminated my tenancy early and I am still waiting for overpaid rent and my deposit back despite my tenancy ending two weeks ago. I've had to raise a dispute with the Tenancy Deposit Service as Allen & Harris refuse to return my deposit to me and are ignoring me and screening my calls. When I called them and got through, the moment I said who I was they went quiet. I could hear background noise but they simply decided not to converse with me! Utterly childish, unprofessional and appalling behaviour.Once these people have your funds, they DO NOT CARE. They will cause you as much stress as possible and they don't care about the impact on your mental health. The lack of engagement is staggering. Calls, emails, texts, all go ignored. They will push you to breaking point and then offer you a breadcrumb of communication. It is PATHETIC and the staff need to grow up. If they think they can treat people like this without consequence, they are wrong. The Property Ombudsman exists for a reason and I am making a formal complaint.This whole experience has been one of the most stressful, abusive and unpleasant I have ever had. I wish I had never ever picked up the phone to inquire about the property. The whole experience has been absolutely appalling. I truly can't believe how badly I've been treated. I am done with renting now. Allen & Harris have shown me just how exploitative, abusive and awful it can be. I'm fully done. Avoid.
