This should be 0 stars. Don’t rent from them, shameless money grabbers. They don’t know what they are doing, liars and that’s all they care is about money. They do not care about tenants unless it’s money. They don’t know what they are doing within their team as one person says one thing and another says another. They lie about coming to agreements and shift the goal posts after they take your money. You pay early to full contract, hand in keys and leave property, then they tell you that your still liable to pay all the bills and council tax even though your not in there. After the fact, They tell you that you didn’t follow early release protocol and yet when I tried to ask for early release at the earliest opportunity they said there is no such thing. They are shameless - stay away!

If you’re renting my honest advice…

If you’re renting my honest advice would be to avoid this company like the plague!!! This company only have one focus within their little set up and that’s money money money. Happy to take their cut every month, but not happy to take responsibility or ownership when things go wrong. We’ve had nothing but stress and trouble with them since renting off them, the local office is run by kids who don’t seem to have any clue of their roles, probably only driven by commission and not customer service. AWFUL AWFUL COMPANY.

Hope to never have to deal with this company again. This company work only for their own self-interest and not for their clients. Purposefully deceitful in order to bump up offers and sabotage accepted offers that they aren't happy with. Avoid.

Our experience with Allen & Harris was professional and they showed an interest in our needs when purchasing a property in Devizes. We wish to give a special thank you to James and Millie who invited us in and showed interest in what we were looking for. James made us feel relaxed and comfortable and even got us a very welcomed cup of tea. We received a wonderful service from Allen & Harris in Devizes and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. We honestly feel that some other agents could learn a thing or two from them.

Dreadful service from Allen and Harris…

Dreadful service from Allen and Harris Stratton Branch and especially Steve Hudson. This branch used to be fantastic and I bought my house from them over 3 years ago but how things have changed. Luckily I had brilliant agents selling my property (Richard James) but have the misfortune of buying one through Steve at Allen and Harris in Stratton who is totally useless.He has lied, been uncommunicative and never even supplied me with the property details that I'm buying. Without any assistance from Steve, we're finally nearing completion and I've been trying, without success to contact Steve for the past 2 days but he's refusing to answer my emails or calls. This review is solely of the Stratton branch but I would suggest you re-think your agents if you're in this catchment area

The adviser who was also the manager …

The adviser who was also the manager gave wrong information false expectations did not meet the agreed timeline for the sale of the property resulting additional cost to me as the seller . the manager /adviser did not return my calls I reported this poor service to head office and got no response . this is the second issue I have had with this company and would advise potential customer to steer clear of this. Good sale talk but no follow through Delays thrpough every part of the process

Had to give 1 star as giving none was not an option. My daughter was a long term tenant (10 years plus) but was unexpectedly served 2 months notice to leave. Reason given was to replace the kitchen. This was a fabrication as the flat was then remarketed and let with nothing changed. The Allen and Harris bath branch who were the letting agent were unhelpful in finding alternative accommodation, devious and unprofessional in their conduct of business (lies, mixed messages, not responding) and finally delayed the return of the deposit. This was an appalling way to treat a long standing tenant of impeccable credentials. Please take heed and go elsewhere as the trauma and hassle of dealing with this agent is not worth the effort.

So I feel that this is a fair review, my ex partner had the house valued by Allen & Harris on 24th January 2017 at a much higher value than we had expected. Photographs were taken, come spring no offers so I telephoned Allen & Harris to ask if new photographs could be taken as the garden photo was taken in January had a frosty look and with the season changing I thought that if they were wanting to sell our house then that wasn't too much to ask for. I was very rudely told that if we wanted new updated photographs then we would have to pay for a professional photographer! As if we hadn't already been charged enough for their services. So finally in May we received an offer of £30,000 less than we had expected. Then the nightmare began, we continually had to chase and despite Kate promising to phone my self and my ex partner she seemed to have disappeared off the face of the earth. Calls were NEVER returned! To our amazement Kate turned out at the house we were selling on the day of completion to make sure all was okay. If you are wanting to sell your house and looking for a pro-active team then please do not use the Devizes office.

Harry from Allen and Harris, supported myself and my partner with our mortgage process and application. This included 3 x face to face appointments. During the appointments harry was very professional, friendly and approachable. Things we didn’t quite understand, being first time buyers, were explained in great depth. Not only did harry sort out the mortgage application, but also all the important insurance covers too. May I add, 10 days after our mortgage application was submitted, we had an email back to say it was accepted! Much quicker than what we thought the process would take! ☺️ thank you! We would definitely recommend

Thoroughly recommend Allen and Harris. Selling a house that was my grandparents and latterly my late parents was a difficult and emotional thing to do, coupled with me living a two hour drive away. The team were very kind, thoughtful. Kept me up to date and really went above and beyond, offering to get legal paperwork from their office to my solicitors for me. I would particularly mention James Lamb and Connor Sherman. I wouldn't hesitate to use Allen & Harris for buying or selling any property.

Absolute joke

Emailed to ask for a viewing of a house, was called by (apparently) the head office and told it would be booked in. We arranged our day around the viewing and got excited to view what looked like a really lovely house. I got a bad feeling the day we were meant to view it as I hadn't had any confirmation email and was told that I hadn't been booked in at all. I then asked to book it in for another evening and my details were taken this time. Again, arranged our day around the viewing, didn't receive a confirmation email. Rang again and was told that it hadn't been booked in, they didn't have my details on the database and the vendor had said they only wanted people that were ready to buy to view the house and because mine is going through the process of being put on the market, that I couldn't view it. Absolute joke. Wasted so much of our time. AND they had the balls to ask if we needed an estate agent to put our house on the market - as if I would go anywhere near them now. Will be avoiding any houses that are being sold by them now and in the future.

My daughter recently bought a flat through the Devizes office. The service we received was brilliant, well beyond what I would have expected and the best I have ever received from an estate agent. Due to various factors the transaction didn't run smoothly but the team in the office gave us so much support. I'd like to particularly call out Lee, the office manager, and James Morten-Scott, the mortgage broker, for the efforts they made on our behalf. Unreliable and untrustworthy.This company has been a source of frustration for ourselves and our landlord.We had viewings deceptively organised behind our backs while living in the property, under the guise of agents being allowed to take photos.We also confirmed our deposit return with our landlord and agent and then received no deposit or response for over two weeks.My wife was told today after getting in touch it was not there responsibility, until we provided screenshots of the same agent who lied to us previously explaining he would communicate with the landlord and get back to us then failed to do so.Completely inconsistent, incredibly stressful, unprofessional and no accountability. I would advise caution before working with or renting through this company.
