I can't think of a better experience that we have had working with Astin's... They put our flat on the market, and as we don't live in the flat, it's just a holiday home, we gave them the keys and signed the contract.. We thought at the time, if they don't find a buyer, we can appoint another later... Heather's team not only found a buyer, they found 3, after the original offer fell through, they then found another, which bizarrely fell through due to personal circumstances, then they found another couple who loved it and have since bought it... Not once did Jemma or Heather show any sign of frustration, with a clearly annoying situation. Thank you guys for a truly wonderful job. It certainly took the strain out of selling a house... We had some lovely memories of holidays in Whitby and must finally say goodbye..

I would highly recommend Astin's in Whitby. I met Natalie in 2016 as I was looking to invest in East Yorkshire. I had found a few possibilities but was very unsure what to pick. Natalie kindly helped me refine the choices and led me to the right decision. With insight, she gave me the best advice I could have dreamt of. In January, this year, I've had to sell the property and again I asked for Natalie's guidance. With her team, she marketed the property and a couple of days later, I was rewarded with a flock of top offers. Despite the sudden irruption of covid-19, I've been granted total support all the way through to completion. I am entirely grateful to Natalie and all the team at Astin's, I can only insist on all the great relief they have skillfully provided. Terrible customer service. After driving 2.5 hours to view a property we arrived and waited outside in the freezing cold. Came back to the car to ring the office and were told “oh yes there was a mix up with the viewing”, by a very unhelpful member of staff called Christine. Apparently there was a mix up with who was supposed to show us around. If this was the case, why couldn’t they have gotten in contact with us to avoid us taking the long drive? We were then asked if we could wait TWO HOURS until she was free to show us around. Since we had already driven over 2 hours we thought we might as well try to waste time. As it was so cold however, all we could do was take a short walk around the town and then wait in the car. We were told to be there for 2:15, and parked next to the front of the property to keep an eye, we got out and waited for a few minutes then decided to ring the office. Guess who answered the phone... CHRISTINE. Apparently she had waited for us for a while then left... even though we were just outside of the property. She had the cheek to say “I was waiting out in the cold so I had to come back to the office” after we had been waiting 2 hours never mind a measly 10 minutes. She then stated that the reason we mightn’t have seen her was because she went the side way to the property and through the back door, when I stated that she had not told us to go that way she replied saying she had trouble opening the door anyway, so we couldn’t view the property at all! I hung up on her at this point as she had already wasted enough of our time, and she did not sound like she was willing to help us out. I’ve looked on Astin’s website and it states Christine “focuses on first class customer care” which is laughable. I’d expect some compensation for the waste of a 5 hour round trip of petrol and standing in the freezing cold. I’m sure it goes without saying I would not recommend selling with this estate agent, as they don’t seem to want to sell your properties!
