GoogleTerrible experience with these agents. I echo issues other landlords have had with Newington's and do not recommend them. The experience during the letting period was fine but the check out process was appalling, extensive damage to my flat was denied by all parties (the tenant, the cleaners, Newingtons) and Newingtons were no help at all in resolving the issue. In the end I had to liaise myself directly with the tenant's employer and we reached an agreement that finished the matter but left me out of pocket and with a home that needed redecorating and repairs.
Please bear in mind that as a professional agency, we have a duty to mediate between the concerns and discrepancies of both the Landlord and the tenant. In the event that an resolution cannot amicably be reached between both parties, as in this instance, we are bound to defer any judgement to an independent party, in this case the tenancy deposit scheme. As per the inventory conducted, the damage to your property was intimated as being very minimal, and as such, it was felt by a third party that the amounts you were looking to deduct were excessive I am glad that you managed to resolve the situation with the tenant thereafter, and wish you the best with your property rental going forward.

Amazing team! Ria and her team - Sanam, Max, Rupert - have all been fantastic in helping to sort out our issues. Hotpoint were terrible and sent a faulty oven and there was a problem getting the oven up to first floor. Sanam organised 2 big blokes to do it late on a Sunday evening. As I went ballistic they kept calm and just got on with it. They kept me informed and went to huge efforts to sort things out. I love these guys! Best lettings agent in London.

GoogleI had to edit this review due to the complete lack of help from Newington Real Estate Agents. My experience with them was very disappointing, as they clearly don't care about the people they work with - especially tenants. Communication was consistently poor, dodging our phone calls and the issues I reported went unresolved or were handled inadequately. Its clear that they prioritise profits over actually helping the people that have trusted them. I could not recommend Newington Real Estate Agents to anyone looking for a responsible and caring agency. Save yourself the frustration.

You informed us off several issues in your apartment and that you were unable to contact your landlord. We invited you to visit our office and provide more details of your issues. Within 12 hours, we managed to contact your landlord, and we arranged for an engineer to visit and resolve all issues immediately. It had become clear that you no longer wished to continue with this rental, so we managed to negotiate on your behalf and agreed an immediate termination with a full rental refund, a full return of your deposit but you were responsible to pay the landlords move out fees. As an agent that does not manage this apartment, we did not have an obligation to get involved, however, we went over and beyond to assist you and managed to negotiate all the terms you requested.

GoogleIt was obvious from the outset that Newingtons have access to some of the best apartments in Marylebone and, refreshingly Marco actually listened to my requirements and facilitated viewings around my convenience. Therefore it was easy to find my dream home and the offer process was straight forward. They kept me informed at each stage, used their expertise to keep negotiations progressing and without them it is unlikely that the rental wouldnt have gone ahead. both Marco and Ria were professional but also personable and I would highly recommend working with them and the wider Newimgtons team.

GoogleOur experience renting through this agency has been deeply disappointing and raises serious concerns about their professionalism, integrity, and treatment of tenants. We were explicitly promised - verbally - a professionally cleaned and freshly repainted flat before moving into 40B Hanover Gate Mansions. What we found instead was a flat in appalling condition: frozen food buildup in the freezer, stained furniture, broken light fixtures, grime on appliances, mould, and unpainted, heavily marked walls. We immediately documented all of these issues with time-stamped photos and videos. Throughout our two-year tenancy, we raised multiple concerns about the condition of the property, many of which were either ignored or dismissed. At times, we were even blamed for pre-existing problems, despite having clear documentation. Now, nearly a month after vacating the property, we have been presented with £1,800 in deposit deductions, the majority of which relate to the very same issues we reported when we moved in. The agency’s approach reflects a clear lack of accountability, and the attempt to shift responsibility onto tenants for problems that were never resolved, or never our responsibility to begin with, is not only unfair, but unethical. After two years of respectful occupancy, a reasonable level of wear and tear is to be expected. The deductions being claimed go far beyond what is justified, and feel more like a tactic to exploit tenants than a fair assessment of the property’s condition.
