Trustpilotgarden charges, have you been stung as well?
It’s been some years since I used Jackson Grundy, however after reading the other bad review of garden charges I feel it necessary to leave a comment because I also got stung for garden charges to the tune of £50 (well thats what they tried to charge me, but I complained, and they got funny about it and I’ve never forgotten it). This was because I had apparently left the grass slightly long. I feel I must point out due to us moving into another property quite a long way a way earlier than the end of our tenancy (I had paid all due rent up to the end of the tenancy, so they had already got extra money). I left the garden in a tidy condition and also out of my own pocket repaired a fence at the bottom of the garden even though it was broken when we moved in. This cut no ice with this company who still wanted extra money, I refused and we reached a lower settlement but it got needlessly a little nasty. I’d also point out that on occasion representatives of Jackson Grundy let themselves into the property unannounced without knocking the door on inspection days even though I said I would be in, imagine my surprise coming on here and finding another person stung by garden charges. Stealth hidden estate agent charges. my advice avoid if you can.

This company, especially the Daventry branch will try to hoodwink you out of your deposit and try to charge you for extras when you leave a property. That happened to us, a lot of unnecessary and needless nastiness after renting a property for 3 years. They know some people are in a desperate situation and will feed off that.

We have investigated the circumstances surrounding your review. We believe it relates to a property Jackson Grundy Lettings were advertising on behalf of a landlord on a 'Let Only' basis. As is the case with most properties in the current market, there was significant interest and multiple interested applicants. Unfortunately this means that only one application will be successful and all other parties will be disappointed. We would much rather this not be the case, however we are not able to control supply and demand of property to the market. We sympathise that on this occasion you are disappointed, but we feel that leaving the company a 1 star review due to circumstances outside of its staff's control is unfair and unwarranted.
