If you want an estate agent that actually cares, go to Melvyn Danes. The team is so nice and they have a real 'family feel' to how they work. It was so refreshing to deal with people who are supportive and encouraging rather than just being robotic. They made the process of buying my home so much easier by allowing multiple visits and keeping in constant, quick contact. They really are a cut above the rest. I would highly recommend Melvyn Danes to everyone, I feel incredibly lucky to have dealt with them

Excellent professional and extremely friendly and helpful service. Sam at Melvyn Danes in Shirley went over and above to help me with the sale of my house. On the odd occasion that Sam was out of the office and things needed to be dealt with urgently then all the other staff were amazingly helpful too. This is the second time I have dealt with Melvyn Danes in Shirley - the first time was when I bought my house - the second time (when I sold it) I chose Melvyn Danes in Shirley due to exceptional service and help when I bought the house. I would highly recommend them.

It took us a while to sell a late family member's property due to market conditions, time of year, and a first sale fall through (buyers simply changed their minds a couple of weeks in - as can happen) but we made it in the end. Our experience with Melvyn Danes has been excellent. Starting with an initial meeting, getting details published, organising viewings (all of these painless and no work for us) and constructive reassurances along the way from Sam, Lucy and Vanessa. Communication with the team was really good. Emails and phone calls at each stage, viewing etc etc. A friendly and personable and experienced team. We knew we were in good hands. In particular, during the last couple of weeks we had some challenges in the chain and slow responses from solicitors etc etc. which made for a bit of a stressful time as we approached exchange. Sam was our main contact in the last few weeks and we had several emails and phone calls and she was brilliant each time. She worked hard behind the scenes using her experience and contacts to try and move things along as quickly as possible and I suspect if it hadn’t been for her interventions, it would have taken a few more weeks to exchange/complete! These days, people sometimes complain about “traditional” estate agents fees etc vs DIY or other cheaper online routes, but I have to say, we feel it was good value for us particularly given how Sam helped get us there over the last couple of weeks. So in conclusion, a big thanks to the team and particularly Sam for a positive experience. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Melvyn Danes to others in future.

Adam and his team at the Shirley branch completely understood how hard it can be to sell a loved, family home following a bereavement. They supported us completely at every step of the way in a caring and empathetic way. Explaining the process in simple terms, untangling problems quickly, keeping us up to date when necessary, moving as quickly as possible by working closely with our solicitor. There's also a lot to be said for teams that really know the area. We were amazed at the level of knowledge that Adam and his team had about Shirley, which allowed them to make selling our family home a more personal experience and one we warmed to. I wouldn't hesitate to use this company again and would highly recommend to others. Thank you Melvyn Danes for making a difficult time better.

I highly recommend Melvyn Danes estate agent at Shirley. The sale of my property took 6 months, during that time, Sam sales manager and her staff, I found to be very professional. If there was a problem with sale, which there were a lot, they were delt with quickly. I was all ways kept up to date with the progress of the sale. HORRIBLE. Found a property wanted to view to rent. originally spoke to a lovely lady who was going to try to get me a viewing a few days later. We spoke a few times that day as they were trying to get in touch with the tenant. Phoned next day for updated. different Lady on the phone immediately sighed loudly before I had even said a WORD. Then pretended to know nothing at all, didn’t look up details all she did was asked the room sarcastically (I heard) if anyone had taken a call yesterday and basically implied I had lied. I would have taken that place off the market if I could have seen it in a few days. Now will never use them again!

Being responsible for helping your mom to move house is difficult enough, but also finding the right estate agents is definitely important, especially when moms last experience was in the 60's We did have two different estate agents in to value the house and Melvyn Danes were the ones to go with and we never looked back. The team in the Shirley Office were so professional, so approachable about any little worry you may have by either calling them, email or popping into the office, nothing was too much trouble. They kept us up to date regularly with any progress, worked so hard with many viewings and saw us through the sale of our own property and buying a new one with them too. We would not have any issues recommending them to future prospective customers, it was a pleasure dealing with them at such a stressful time, they made it look easy and its because they care.

I moved into a new rental property, I had some issues with gas leak and few other things I can not thank this estate agent and the land lady for how fast they reacted when I reported the issue they brought heaters to me and within 3 days had trades people and plumbers arrived to fit new gas pipes and fix all the other issues I had workmanship was fast and can’t thank everyone for making this happen so fast and a great job never in my renting life have I felt loved and looked after highly recommend this estate agent and team 10000% much thanks again Steven

The staff at the Wythall branch were absolutely brilliant selling my house. The worst estate agents around, full of rude, incompetent staff that have no idea how to treat people and successfully complete purchases. If it wasn't for them we would have been in our dream home last month! Now we are going through the tedious task of having to re-market our property and are now in an even longer chain! With the changing property market, mortgage rate increases and cost of living crisis anybody who listed there property for sale over a year ago when the market was hot this is extremely worrying and stressful for us! Sam Anderson is a liar! She constantly kept us in the dark with the buyers for our house, lying that she had chased them when since we have found out she never once called them! Her emails were getting ignored and she still continued to just email them!?! How does that make any sense! Sam Anderson, is the office manager for reference to understand what your letting yourself in for!!!! Adam Marshall who is Sam's boss is also one of the rudest, pointless people I have ever had the misfortune to deal with! As a friendly warning just read between the lines when reading the positive reviews as they are doubtful, laughable and quite clearly not what they seem, just look at the language they are written in! I expect a blanket response from Sam or Adam now asking me to email in so they can investigate further or more than likely disregarding my review completely.... THE WORST ESTATE AGENT CHAIN AROUND!!!!!!
